However, a 3-person gank all wielding Moonveils is another story. For that reason, it definitely could use some adjusting by From. That said, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but...there are far more busted builds in this game 😂 I have no idea how they'll balance it all.
Oh you mean the Eclipse Shotel instant Death weapon that literally allows you circle your enemy until they die. I rather fight three Moonveil katana users than that. At least you can actually counter Moonveil with Carian Retaliation and it feels so damn satisfying to pull off.

With faith you can cast a buff to your magic defense and eat it, it will deal a lot less damage. You can also try using a magic shield or some kind of deflect spell, which I didn't test yet.

It's tradition for me to always start with a sorcerer build though, so for now I've been doing a bit better by relying on night maiden's mist. Had a simultaneous 3v1 kill using that and some basic straight sword spam against an overly agressive gonk.

Dude literally like 70% of the invasions I've been seeing with me and my friends have been against this weapon lmao. Tbf it's really good, but a majority of the people I've come across using it don't know what to do when they don't instant kill me or my friends with one or two weapon arts lol either way. Game is new so everyone tends to not know everything and run around with the same stuff, i understand this katana is already considered to be cringe and cancer but peeve is and always has been a good pvp player.

@@moepOo Not really. There's a bunch of weapons with nasty Ashes, and even some that utilize the "base" ones really well. People just like to default to Moonveil because of how easy it is to approach-it has a basic moveset, and a very powerful ranged attack that comes out almost instantly. It's absolutely strong, but it's not as broken as people like to cry and whine about. A Moonveil spammer only has so much FP and potions, learn how to avoid them when you see the quick sheathe stance and then knock their teeth in when they have to fall back on actually playing the game.

I was solo fighting a boss that shall remain unnamed (for spoilers) in the south of limgrave, it was too fast for me to do my usual greataxe heavy attacks. I smithed a mace to +3 and took it on, we were both down to 1 hit and I had no flasks left. I realized I had 5 kukris, threw one when it charged and won. Now I keep 50+ kukris in storage at all times lmao they are a life saver
man i fucking love how much weapon arts and heavy attacks define weapons in this game. those have always been the coolest part of any weapon, but there was never any real reason to justify using them over r1s. now, those attacks are pretty much all i use, and i'm rewarded for it. if i tried to beat a boss in ds3 with only weapon arts, that would be considered a sort of meme challenge, but in elden ring, it feels like the proper way to use the weapon. i love it so much. weapon arts, heavy attacks, jumping heavy attacks all feel and look absolutely amazing, and they perform just as good as they feel. they absolutely perfected the combat and playstyle. the game in general feels like a "greatest hits" of the souls series, where you're just constantly only experiencing the good parts with none of the annoying tedious parts like boss runs etc.
So after rigorous testing I have found that spell parry is the counter to this beastly weapon. If your timing is good you can actually spell parry the WA and after doing this to a lot of people using similar builds the panic they get when the WA vanished was kinda funny as they are practically forced to either eat a swing or the glint blades the parry spawns just my two cents though keep up the great work!
@@ozwavy4699 I have it. It's not drastic at all. I tested it side by side first with and then without the talisman. The talisman gives you one single extra weapon art per flask. you probably have to have like at least 30 into mind before you really notice a big difference
The giant laser u saw at 22:25 come from is sword his name is the sword of night and flame he can also do a flame attack and this sword is rly broken he can literally one shot you

Bottom slots are the quicker gesture slots BTW. 2-3 inputs instead of 4-5. Wish they'd just bring back the old gesture menu and put the map in the main inventory screen. Sorcery looks fun as hell. Definitely gonna be my second playthrough. First was dual curved greatswords with a slight bleed focus. Both the Bloodhound Curved Greatsword and Morgott's Cursed Sword are fun as hell. Morgott's especially looks like it might decimate in PvP with the weapon art. If only multi-invasions were a (consistent) thing...imagine Bloodshades in Elden Ring.
I’m loving my Enchanted Knight quite a bit so far. I definitely need to push the story forward which I’m going to do tonight. Excellent gameplay and showcase of what a Battle Mage can do in Elden Ring. Im so glad I didn’t go with a melee only build for my first play through. Subbed and liked.
Melee only seems very lacking imo in elden ring, they really expanded on spells and with the ash of war system, you can put basically whatever scaling you want onto weapons. So as long as you meet the mins to wield something, seems like a waste to push it past that. With the exception of ultra's and super bleed focused builds I suppose
@@Sentro1122 Yeah, the magic system in Elden Ring is much more expanded than in past From Soft games. The Ashes of War are also very cool to add to weapons. Unfortunately not all weapons can accept AoW. I have magic infused swords that have fixed skills. Also, you can buff magic weapons with magic buffs. At least not in my experience so far. I was really excited to be able to buff my INT scaling sword with an scaling buff but no dice. Even still, I’m having an amazing time with the game.
@@jellofan1578 they sure do exist, but the new angle check made it so backstabs are almost never worth going for. I've only ever landed one backstab on somebody who didn't notice I was there and was standing still. If they move even the slightest bit, the backstab whiffs. That and the ending lag seems to have been increased so punishing a whiff is even easier now. There's little to no reason to go for a backstab when a moonveil WA is safer, faster, and does more damage
Nice video. Personally, been running Moonveil + Meteoric ore blade while switching the latter with the demi human queen's staff when I feel like doing some ranged damage, and then just switch back to dual wield katanas and go ham. Gave me some ideas for some spells to look for.
Trying a similar build myself but im trying to use rannis dark moon and adulas moonblade as my main damage and moonveil as a last resort melee option. It can work, but the cast time of rannis is a problem and i run out of mana flasks quickly. I really wish i could just farm up 99 old spice in this game like in demons souls.
i think the main reason peeve's character one shots everyone is because people currently playing this keep forgetting to level up health for some reason? everytime i open someone's stream their character has no vigor at all

I don't understand how you're supposed to get those ripostes at 1:33 and 2:17 I mean you acted instantly. Not to mention you were using a freaking katana. Recovery frames of guard breaks seem way too fast. There is no way you could guard break with a hammer R2 and actually get the riposte I suppose.
I've come to find that after the weapon skill I don't have time to riposte players. Maybe if I roll towards them after it'd free me from the recovery animation sooner 🤔 Regardless, I've stopped expecting it 😂
Yeah there is I was just trying it. Get bloodhounds step. It costs a little fp but you can use it instead of rolling and it's better than rolling. But you can be at 99 percent equip load and it doesn't slow you down.
after trying this myself i have to say that this katana is busted, the weaponart just doesnt miss you dont even have to try with that thing and its even more broken if you have thumbs lmao

Had so many people that are way Further in the Game invade me at the Most random places with better spells/incants and Gear and all of them either died or left themselves because they didnt want the Shame of Being killed by a lvl 20prophet that Just killed the 2. Boss

Lots asking about the stats. I'm still working on the build so I don't find much reason to post them. Only thing I'm certain of atm is I want 52 int for Lusat's Glintstone Staff. Since making this video, the AR of the buffed Moonveil has gone from about 600 total to 820. I think when the build is done it will break 1000 AR 😂 Whoops.

Apparently as of 1.0.3, the base damage has been reduced but it still rips off half your health even if you have 60% magic resistance.
Moon veil was literally made for dex int builds it’s amazing

That Wa is like the frayed blade, but with a bigger hitbox, more damage and much more speed..The trade off being the lack of combo potential i guess.

I am curious if we might end up finding a faith scaling katana like this. My current Uchigatana is rocking the Sacred Blade Ash but it certainly doesn't come out as fast as the special on Moonveil.

I’ve been rocking dual uchigatanas with sacred blade on the main hand one. It’s.. okay honestly. I’m thinking of re specing to an int/dex build to have more variety instead of pure melee. Some bosses are pure cancer trying to melee only
@@Childofbhaal faith might be better served by a keen uchi with black flame blade. Also faith has access to like 3 different mist spells

I always loved katanas, this is the only one I've found besides uchigatana but I went DEX/STR and some FAI so I can't really use it.

With the pvp I experience and the clips I saw , I can say that sorcery is busted in pve and pvp in this game lol.

Lots asking about the stats. I'm still working on the build so I don't find much reason to post them. Only thing I'm certain of atm is I want 52 int for Lusat's Glintstone Staff.
Since making this video, the AR of the buffed Moonveil has gone from about 600 total to 820. I think when the build is done it will break 1000 AR 😂 Whoops.

But why you want it? I am sorcerer (64 int) too and this staff quite disappointed me. +50% manacost and only +10% skill damage

I don’t think they nerf I think I can only remember them nerfing like 2-3 weapons in dark souls 3 so unlikely
