Impressive! What was incredible about living in Sweden? The fact that you lived there, or you mean it helped boosting your English? I know they speek awesome English in Northern Europe and from what I experienced they speak the American English. Also, How do you practice native English? What is your method? I lived in Canada for almost 5 years got hook on American English, been practicing the accent and got 85% here, but I want to reach your level.
In march, I got 38%. After studying, I get 61% in July. Your Chinese accent is good, and 77% is a nice score to have for me. Thanks for the review, giving me a good reference.
I've tried the app for 2 sessions and I found that it did help me find one or two mistakes I've never noticed. However, it's still too unreliable and wastes some of my time, because (1) it delivers false positives by attributing sounds from one word to another and (2) it lets lots of mistakes uncorrected when I deliberately spoke in a strong German accent. It's great that the app also gives different possible native pronunciations in phonetic letters for a single word, but it shouldn't be THAT lenient. Overall I think it's a good tool for people who are only starting to work on their accent. It's a great concept with the right rules and a step into the right direction and just needs to be polished. There is no one who would help correcting all my mispronunciations for 5 bucks per month.
On the topic of you helping the app, I got a 97% on the native assessment speaking very quickly with the type of Australian accent I would use with my friends. All instances of became and so on. I was very curious what it would think of the lack of rhoticity and my linking s, and while I saw a lot more red and orange than you did (on all the deviations from a slowly dictated GA accent), it seemed to not really care about my accent (for phonemes). When I started doing intonation tests though, it was chucking me ~84% on average since it kept picking up my strong "to" in "give t' you" as a stressed word and the fact that I put slight secondary stresses on the subject of sentences with subordinate clauses (the stresses were only marked on the objects?). Overall seems useful for high level non-natives but it definitely needs some work, or it's gonna not criticise people developing an American accent on their consonants with RP vowels for example.
Your comment was very necessary bc I’ve noticed some errors on Elsa, not only this pronunciation, intonation errors but spelling too. I even took a screenshot. I couldn’t believe. That’s when I wasn’t motivated anymore. It threw me off
I think you would get a higher score def cuz this app is super specific. The lessons, when you click on the word, you can hear just that part, even those words you barely pronounce lol, it gets every single detail. But it does have some errors, some words you pronounce it right but it only accepts the wrong pronunciation. It happened 3 times, and also a spelling error. I got 96% and I’m Brazilian
I used to use this app till I got tired to repeat and repeat some words and especially some paragraphs, it was frustrated for me. I am not saying that the app is bad but some times Elsa is a little too picky regarding some sounds.
Sometimes I repeat about 20 times and even more till I get at least 85 % and even 97% and usually I understand what was my mistake. I could not pronounce a simple word correctly, Elsa gave me about 70% and not more. . I asked my friend Shawn to teach me how to pronounce this word and Elsa gave me 97%. Maybe I am too patient. I have 200 lessons more and I will finish with this app.

That was a great video! I was a little worried about how I was doing with this app. I have no intension to loose my accent, that doesn't bother me (and shouldn't bother anyone, except you're an actor or have other professions that demand to sound like a native). It was because I want to communicate with the lowest errors as possible, to avoid misunderstoods... littles misunderstoods are completely normal, even on our native language...but avoid them is a good way instead explaining yourself all the time...
