Only the laws of Noah (Gen 8-9) apply to both Jews and Gentiles. While it's true that Mary could never have imagined the sheer amount of praise and adoration she would receive by future generations it was nonetheless foretold anyway (Luke 1:46-56).

I appreciate your zeal for pure worship of God alone. As Catholics, we absolutely agree that adoration is due to God alone and that idolatry is a grave sin. However, I believe Catholic teaching on Mary and the saints is more nuanced than you may realize.
First, Catholics do not worship Mary as we worship God. We honor and venerate her, but all our worship and prayer is directed to God. The Catechism clearly distinguishes between adoration (latria) given to God alone, and veneration (dulia) given to saints and honor (hyperdulia) given to Mary.
That said, we do believe Mary has a unique role in salvation history that is worthy of honor. She is the Mother of God (Theotokos), which highlights the truth of the Incarnation - that Jesus is true God and true man. This title was defined at the Council of Ephesus in 431 AD.
In terms of biblical typology, the early Church saw Mary as the New Eve. Just as Eve participated in the fall by her disobedience, Mary participates in redemption by her obedience, her "fiat." Mary is also seen as the Ark of the New Covenant. Like the Ark held God's word on stone tablets, Mary held the Word made flesh in her womb. The same Greek word is used for God's presence "overshadowing" the Ark and Mary. And just as David leapt and danced before the Ark, John the Baptist leapt in Elizabeth's womb at Mary's visitation.
Regarding prayer, Catholics believe that death does not sever the bonds of the Body of Christ. Those in heaven are more alive than we are and are united with us in offering prayer to God. Asking Mary and the saints to pray for us is no more idolatrous than asking a friend on earth to pray for us - in both cases, all prayer goes through Christ our one mediator.
So in Catholic thought, Mary always points us to Jesus. Honoring her magnifies the Incarnation and what God has done in her. As St. Maximilian Kolbe put it, Mary is like the moon which perfectly reflects the light of the sun, directing all glory back to God.
I hope this helps explain the Catholic perspective, even if we ultimately disagree. Please know that I respect your desire to worship God in spirit and truth. I believe what unites us in Christ is far greater than what divides us. May God continue to bless and guide you!
@@jojosephoho Dear brother/sister in Christ, as a Christian, i respect Mary and all people who were chosen by God to fulfill a divine purpose 100%. However, there is a fine line between respect/adoration and idolatry and i think it's important that we know how to make that distinction. By praying to Mary, you are essentially believing that she has attributes that only God has. Humans in heaven, like Mary and saints cannot hear prayers. Even angels cannot see/hear everything. ONLY God is omnipresent and can hear all prayers. The same goes for confessing sins to a priest. God is the ONLY one who can forgive us of our sins, so He is the one we should confess to.
As Christians we have to be careful, because the devil is working overtime to deceive people by giving us half truths that look similar to the bible and twisting it. God is very simple in the fact that Jesus is the only way to heaven and we should get our information not from man made religions, but directly from the bible. @@gamingfanofficial2009 I come from an othodox community where bowing down and praying to a Mary statue was considered normal, but God opened my eyes over a decade ago and revealed to me that this is idol worship and a sin. Humans in heaven, like Mary and saints cannot hear prayers. Even angels cannot see/hear everything. ONLY God is omnipresent and can hear all prayers. Distancing myself from religion was the best decision, because it allowed me to have a personal relationship with God. God bless! :)

To sum this up, I shall state what we as Catholics believe in:
First, we believe that the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Saints can hear our plead for them to pray for us to God.
Second, we obey God's commandment not to worship any graven image of idols, deities, or himself and instead express our fidelity to God by making art with the intent to revere(respect) him and not for worship.
Third, we do the same thing to revere(respect) the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Saints.
Last, the Blessed Virgin Mary is vital to our faith and understanding of God and Jesus Christ.
I ask that you consider the various ways that our other Christian brothers and sisters in different Christian denominations praise and worship God. Our Christian brothers and sisters have different ways of worshiping and believing in God, yet we all seek unity together in God and eternal life within him in Heaven.

Beautiful procession worthy of Our Lady of Fatima. There was no mention of Our Lady of Fatima during mass this morning in Ireland, very sad. I wondered was this by way of Rome and the attacks on Marian Apparitions throughout the world. No mention of Our Blessed Mother whatsoever. Our Lady of Fatima intercede for us 🙏♥☘

@@Buddy_Wolfe I spent the last 20 years dedicated to Truth, God and improving, after my father destroyed my life, I was in pain and misery begging God, Mary spoke to me, my mind was now expanded, I was speaking to God, I was trained to be a holy person for 6 months, I could see blessings and curses, I was taught lessons, it was hard, it was like a Bible story, I had to command angels, Jesus was there, I now know the Truth about Jesus and his lack of evidence for the bible, I need help so I can spread the truth far and wide, no one can have the truth about God, except me, everyone else just reads the book

Brothers and sisters, the bible is very clear about it being a sin to create graven images and to worship anyone other than God. Mary is in heaven and cannot hear your prayers. Only God can.
@@user-tz5oq1tt9x Yes it is a sin and Catholics are well aware. :) Catholics do not worship Mary or the saints or their statues, but do ask them in prayer, to relay our intentions to Jesus and to God on our behalf. As was done at the wedding in Canna, when Mary brought to Jesus the fact that, 'They have no more wine." This is known as intercession. Statues of Our Lady, of Jesus, or of the saints help to focus a person's mind on an aspect of prayer or worship. And in this case, as the title states, a pilgrimage of the faithful to celebrate/commemorate the first apparition of the Immaculate Conception to the children in Fatima. God bless you.

An event that changed the course of my faith was when i received a prophetic message from a pastor that there was an item in my house with a bad spirit. When he came to visit, he said that it was the candle with an image of Mary. It felt eerie knowing that i used it in prayer a few days prior. Soon after getting rid of the item, God opened my eyes to the simple truth that we should have no Gods before Him and that praying to statues, Mary or angels is forbidden and scriptures is clear about this. Revelations 22:9 When the man bowed down to the angel, the angel said ''No, don't do that! Only bow down to God. I, like you, am only a servant.'' Humans in heaven, like Mary and saints cannot hear prayers. Even angels cannot see/hear everything. ONLY God is omnipresent and can hear all prayers. Distancing myself from religion was the best decision, because it allowed me to have a personal relationship with God and there's nothing more beautiful than that. God bless. :)
