I think, although they or we can’t hold our own uncles and boy-men to the same standards, it is strategic for W4C to highlight the out of hand issue of violence against women in SA.
If I was Chris Brown I would use the opportunity to address South African men - as a soldier who’s walked the same path - to condemn violence against women.
Even if Riri hit him first, if she did, a good man would step out of the situation. No excuse for laying a hand on anyone, man or woman.

If you’re going to be a page they stands against GBV, then do so with everyone. Done pick and choose which cases you take and who you hold accountable.

This energy they put on Chris brown must be put on SA grounds!! We see them everyday eKasi, blue eyed with chipped lips, the real victims of SA GBV..They should start there, intervene in person and stop being keyboard warriors with filtered videos, they should not wait for a "Trend" or "Tragedy" to happen to take action.
    My 2 cents❤
The initiative can be so powerful but it doesn't have to be through controversial topics always

Queen ninja, I live in New Zealand and Chris Brown is actually not allowed in the country because of his history of victimizing women.
I think that with the way things are ko mzansi, taking a stand and banning Chris Brown, could be a way that the government protects it's people and actually makes a solid statement against GBV.

Well a perfect stand would be using our own people to make an example of and set the tone. It doesn't need to be an outside person who has no clue or idea of life and truth of GBV in SA. Many SA favs could be that. But also GBV isn't just for females, also needs to stand for males. So Sa female favs guilty of such could be shown

If the numbers for gbv against women in this country are that high, it means that these men are fathers, brothers, sons, uncles, workmates, etc, unless they are living under a rock. Also, these very same men go to jail, come out, and are intergrated into society again like nothing ever happened. Yet we want to hold this man accountable. Makes no sense at all.
Saying that it will serve as an example is hilarious. Do you honestly believe that canceling the show will make these men stop what they are doing? Let's focus on real solutions hle. This one ain't it

Black people dont want other black people to succeed shem.
Firstly, the justice system in america is very different from ours. It actually functions well and is efficient. If chris is indeed guilty, trust and believe that he will be dealt with, especially as he is a black man. It is unfair to want him to stop working because of allegations.
Secondly, as someone who follows american news, some women are notorious for lying on wealthy men just to cash out.
Thirdly, anyone can make a documentary, but that doesn't mean it is the truth.
Lets just wait, and if he is guilty then these women can take it from there. For now though, they are trippin for real.
