    You really helped me with this so thank you! My four year old has been reading for over a year now and his teachers are super impressed. His favorite book at the moment is Dr. Maggie’s Grand Tour of the Solar System, and generally anything to do with space. This method REALLY WORKS and in only a few minutes a day. Thank you again!

    JadyA! I love your channel and all your wise advice. I have implemented much of it:-). Please keep it going. Im a working wife and mom of 3 young girls under 8. I would love to see a fun video of you all having a tea party where manners are taught and quality time spent, maybe even a bible reflection ❤

    thanks to all your videos my 3 yr old son is now reading 3 letter words. I bought your flash cards and he goes through them in a breeze. you are correct he is not blending just yet but he can sound out the words. I'm so thankful because with my 9 yr old who still has trouble reading because I taught her letter names as opposed to letter sounds first so she gets confused sometimes but I'm going through a book called teach your child to read in 100 lessons and that is helping

    I cant believe how big Emily has gotten! I feel like I say this every time I see one of your videos! Anyway my 5 yr old is really having a hard time with reading and writing which is unusual in my experience with my other 2 boys. I need something a little different and I cant wait to try this method along with some of the others you show use for writing to try out with him. Thank you as always for sharing with us.

      Hey Tay my son had trouble as well. We tried all about spelling. I know for some children and families they don’t need it but this curriculum helped us. I started with the spelling and I’m glad I did. It taught us about all the rules and helped us remember them. Now we both understand why certain words are the way they are. I was taught but I of course forgot. They have all about reading as well but I have to say the spelling it was helped us so much.

      It’s great to work with kids, and also keep in mind that if a child is in school all day having to sit down and be quiet, it’s probably hard to come home and do it again (sitting down and being quiet) when the child may want a break and to play as well. It can be difficult for young children to sit for long periods and concentrate.
      Play is also important so maybe letting the child have plenty of playtime when first getting home from school would help.
      Maybe also try breaking down the times you work together to make it more fun.
      Helpful ways to practice concentrating for a child is through fun age appropriate puzzles or focusing on something the child wants to do.
      Keep in mind the child’s age plays a role in their concentration time.
      Great job in wanting to spend that fun time with the child, sometimes noticing some of the above and changing it up a bit may help. : )

    “The” is a sight word. It is not sounded out. E doesn’t say “uh”.

    • @JadyA
      @JadyA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      most sight words can be decoded using phonetic rules. “Th”is a digraph and thus the sound I showed was appropriate and the “e” is an unstressed vowel with schwa sound. All vowels have a schwa sound that sound like “u” in some instances. Another example is the word “problem” and “celebrate”. I like teaching children phonetic rules as much as possible before memorizing sight words. The schwa sound, sounds like the short U but weaker and shorter.
