    I just wanted to thank you, Dave. Your videos have helped me a lot with my climbing recently. I've always struggled with fear and in recent months thanks to your videos I have been able to overcome it, and last weekend I did my first 6b and almost did a 6c+ without hesitation, my prior grade was 6b but a really short one. So thanks a lot and keep it up!

    Well done, Dave, for successfully closing one of the great and productive chapters of your climbing!

    Dave, it's really great having your experience with routes like these documented and explained in such a compelling and engaging way. I think everyone can relate to the stories you're telling, regardless of whether they're climbing VD or E8, and you offer some great insights into the mental and emotional process and managing it that I think must surely apply evenly across the grade spectrum with leaders pushing themselves out of their comfort zone. It's very relatable.
    Cinematography and production quality is also excellent - don't change a thing! This is exactly what I want to see on TH-cam.

    Dave, any chance you could do a video on focus and composure? Recently I've started pushing my grades on both sport and trad, and have become increasing nervous/excited due to the higher difficulty and danger. My problem is it can really distract me from the climbing itself and change the way I move and process a route. I can also get quite shaky which is extremely irritating!
    Cheers

    Awesome video.
    I took a big fall out in Spain in January and injured myself quite badly. I was wondering if you could ever do a video on returning to climbing and regaining confidence after an injury?

    'Won't be seeing for a long time'? But it's a local crag with lots of fun. There's nothing wrong with going back to repeat stuff and have a fun day out with the climbs, the company, and the views

    • @climbermacleod
      @climbermacleod  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. Not saying there is anything wrong with the type of day out you describe. But everyone has to follow what they enjoy - I prefer to move onto a new crag after 6 years and over 100 days at that one.

    • @climbermacleod
      @climbermacleod  3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I haven't climbed there. I tend to prefer solitude and colder temperatures for climbing, so it's not really top of my list. When I've done granite big walls I tend to go to Norway. There is a vlog of free climbing Disco 2000 on Blamman on my Vimeo page. Also I try not to fly for environmental reasons and haven't taken a flight since about 2016.

    Dangerous? Ok, for an ordinary person it may be dangerous, but he is an expert climber, right? And he's *not* free solo-ing

    • @climbermacleod
      @climbermacleod  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Part of being an expert climber is recognising that its dangerous. Most of that particular route is free soloing - the protection would very likely not hold a fall.
