His performances made me feel like he knew exactly how Jackie Robinson felt and how Thurgood Marshall felt. He made me feel as if I was there. Chadwick Boseman was an amazing actor. When the movie Black Panther came out. I wanted my class of black boys to be there. I wanted them to see the man that would be considered as a legend. Mr. Boseman became an ICON in my life. I am so proud to say that I witnessed his contribution to the black community and to the world. He gave us hope that little black boys and girls would have the opportunity to look up to him. He died like a hero would on top of the world. He was held in high regard because he existed without any controversy or chaos. I saw him as my own son who I was immensely proud of. Some say I saw the movie five times, Others say seven. I took every and anybody to see the movie. There were several scenes that I now know he had made suggestions that really spoke to the African and African Americans. Very few movies spoke of the importance of ancestral worship or when Kilmonger spoke to wanting to be buried like his ancestors who chose to drown rather than be in bondage. There were symbols of the Black Panthers in many of the scenes. He was regal, proud, proud of his Blackness. He was a genius, a humble servant, a spiritual man. He was a superhero.
His courage, as a man with strong faith and determination as a warrior in his own personal life, as well as the greats he portrayed on the screen will live to inspire youth and adults of every color and nationality internationally. He has left an enduring legacy as Black Panther, as a black superhero, and mostly as a real, kind and caring hero in this life. He is greatly missed.
