  • It's been a while since my past Plastic Model Rocket Palooza, so I thought I'd fly some new ones acquired since my last. ‪@mobrockets‬ launching on the spongy, winter (dead, brown) grass at McQueen Park in Gilbert, AZ. Even dead grass is better than desert hardpan. Early winter in the Valley of the Sun, when it is cool and crisp out of doors.
Flying on this day only ‪@EstesRockets1‬ rockets that are constructed of plastic nose cones, plastic fins, and some plasticized body tubes. Some models I flew are currently available, some are not and were purchased from various aftermarket online hobby shops. A and B motor flights only, as this park only allows A and B motors.

That Goliath still flies quite well on a B! A nice small field rocket.

Best & Worst: Best was by far the Goliath. Even had that "slo-mo" effect on takeoff without having to slow down the video. Beautiful flight! Worst was the Mini Bertha. Bertha can be a cantankerous old bag. Gotta talk sweet to her maybe???? Although it wasn't necessarily her fault. She had a bad engine. Overall, did I count 11 flights? And no repairs to be made? Must be a new record for anyone of us! Congrats! Looked like a beautiful day to fly.

Well, a flight I didn’t show was my Quix, that hit that grass and snapped a previously repaired fin! So it’s bone dry and not as spongy as usual. But still way better than the usual Phoenix area hard pan!

@@chrissrocketryandmore Thanks, Chris. With that field you fly on I’d load small rockets up with F motors 😝. I will never tire of flying little model rockets…. 🚀

Did you see that? At 2:19, you can see a shadow of Bigfoot moving across the display!!! A and B motors are fun. Never lose sight of your rockets, short walks, and less money!

@@michaelc6817 I DID see that! And Bigfoot flashed a peace sign, so nothing to fear about them after all! 😂🚀

Love the blue sky. How dry is the grass?
