When the UI is flashing yellow you want to click once on the tool your are using it'll speed the progress bar ! Very informative video, loved it !

It's especially crazy for UIM. You can make, like, 80-100k an hour with just 15 Smithing and the minigame with a little trick I found. I even made a video on it, super excited for this new method allowing UIM to get decent money early game. It even works on regular ironman too, much better than cutting bows or agility pyramid.
How would this be good for an early UIM? Don’t you need loads of bars to do this mini game?

Apparently using only one type of bars is shit exp.
i luckily had just done a shit load of zalcano but its not bad for uim after zalc, but i was about to do a shit laod of cballs so i went mainly for the mould. Exp isnt bad but not sure id do it if i didnt want the mould. Changes in training is always fun though

If you don’t have ice gloves bring a bucket. Add water to it on the waterfall & pour it on your hot sword mold

Fun fact, "Kovács" in Hungarian means "Smith", it's a common last name here :) I assumed Slovakian has it similar and I just looked it up and it's "Kováč". I love these details :)
In Polish it's Kowal, (pronounced 'koval') with the surname becoming Kowalski. It's interesting how similar they are :O

How can you compare this video with the shit Theoatrix puts out? This video contains pros and cons, breakdown of the math behind the xp and gp, etc. Information that is actually useful and is not yet available on wiki or in the patch notes. While Theoatrix puts out a video with all the information that we already had in the patch-notes. Atleast for now Theoatrix, can't just read straight out of the wiki, so he just reads straight out of the patch-notes.

Way back, I figured my best most afk way for 99 was to smelt gold with the spell. Costed me about 220m and took extremely long.
One large benefit of armour is that you can buy it. On my mid/late game iron, I don't have so many addy bars, but I have 42m gp with nothing to spend it on. So I reckon it's better for me to buy mith+addy armour and use that instead of bars.

Yes, I do. Making plates and then using them is less xp per bar than using the bars directly at foundry

First and most important, why no one talks about us having BF (Blast Furnace) and GF (Giants' Foundry)?!?!?!?
now for me being an osrs nerd -
A great guide (and i mean it!), but i'm missing how much gp per bar do you get, and it's kind of crucial. In the vid you addressed how much gp you can expect per bar, but actually when you take into account alching, the exp per bar goes up by a lot. Assuming you make platebodys, alch them and from the alch money you go and buy a full stock of gold ores at blast furnace (BF), an addy bar gives 311.8 exp per bar. and a mithril bar gives ~128 exp per bar.
In the video you got 33,360 gp, worth around 4166exp in gold ores, so that's an extra 148.8 exp per bar (4166/28=148.8~).
so at the moment, to me it seems like using addy bars isn't worth it (around a 100exp lost per bar), but mith might be worth it. Also, you can buy a thing from the mini game that grants you higher exp smelting bars, and i didn't take it into account.
Disclaimers and math (it's a lot, so no sure if anyone want to read it):
* If someone want to do the math, that's how i did it - buying full stoke of gold ores at BF cost 450gp per ore, each ore grants 56.2 exp. high alch for addy platebody - 9,984. | high alch for mithril platebody - 3,120gp.
5 addy bars gives 1,559 exp (making platebody+alching) - 311.8exp/bar.
5 mithril bar gives 639.65 exp = ~128 exp per bar.
** I assumed buying a full stock (all 100 ores) at BF, but if you buy only half the gp/exp ratio you'll get will be much better. Your gp/exp can ratio can also be worse, if you buy a full stock, but starting at less than 100 ores. also, the shop can restock while you're there (that's how that shop works), and that can have an impact on the gp/exp ratio as well.
*** I didn't calculate the price of nature runes, because i never felt like a late game ironman should have any problem with them. If you want to add it in, a nature rune from a shop should cost 180 if the shop it's full stock, but we can say that each nature cost 225gp just to make it easier. So, each nature rune bought is half a gold ore, meaning, you lose 28.1 exp per rune.

Don't use bars in the foundry. I'm using 7/7 mithril warhammer/adamant battleaxe. Can only buy 125 of each every 4 hours (using roughly 84 of each per hours) but you turn a profit and I'm hitting 230-240k exp an hour with all moulds and full outfit.
Using tile marker you can label each of the machines a color and a heat or cool level..
I have the far right saying red colder. Middle says yellow warmer ext.

I'd be curious to see the xp/hr difference on dropping down a tier to create swords faster; ie:
Using 14/14 steel and mith bars gives you a metal quality of 65, and a sword with 5 sections to complete.
Using 19/9 steel and mith bars gives you a metal quality of 59, and a sword with only 4 sections to complete.

yea it's something i was thinking about as well, might use steel/mith on like a lower tier one (49/52), mith/addy on mid tier (56-65) and rune/addy on only the highest(69)
I tested 20-8/19-9 with addy and mith. Its better exp pher hour and cheaper than 14/14, because of the 1 less section.
I think it applies to every metal.

Started here at 70 smithing after not touching it since at least 2015. Just wanted the outfit but now im halfway to 99 😅
It seems to be a super fast method for leveling up. I also enjoy the minigame even if it requires a bit more focus than other methods.

Imagine they turned this into an add on where u can add a serrated edge to an ags or other weapon for like +3 str bonus or something like that
adding smaller stats to godswords like stab crush or slash would be kinda cool.
but i feel like they would just alter the colossal blade to do that for you. minus the special attacks.
Right now 70+ use 7 warhammer addy/mith or 7 of items that recycle to 2 bars and you make about 7k plus per sword and get 12-15k exp. Making about 150-170k exp per hour. While you earn your set.

I don’t know if I’m just ignorant to weapons’ bonuses, but the sword reward from GF actually seems kind of busted for Pures and Meds. I suppose the attack speed kind of balances it out, but it’s similar in stats to a Bludgeon, with a +4-10 max hit and a lower attack requirement, and pures/meds just took a decent hit to their weapon pools with the equipment “rebalancing”.
All-in-all, seems like a cool weapon and a cool minigame 👍
It's almost exactly the same as the Barrelchest Anchor, requiring 60 attack and doesn't see much use
@@JohnSmith-0 that’s a good point, I always forget about the anchor and only ever see it in PvP. Maybe the Slash-weapon aspect could insert it into a certain meta, but it’s looking grim for our boy :/ Cool fashionscape at least though!
When does the build timer start running? When you actually pick up the preform? When you make the mold? Not sure when I need to keep focus for a good time attempt.

Loved the vid! One caveat for making items and then bars: for an iron with for example excess mith but limited supply of addy, it might be worth it to make mith items and keep addy bars. Cause surely making mith platebodies is higher xp per hour than foundry, and assuming you're not losing on foundry runs, seems like it'd be worth it. Just my 2 cents!
dude as iron make the platebody. then smelt it down. make the swords :D

Btw for Ironmen, it's best to use 5 steel platebodies and 2 mith plates (20/8 in bar alloy). You can do this after getting XP from smelting them, and then smithing them and you're losing next to nothing. It's easier to fill the smelting pourer than using two types of steel/mith items too, and you only lose 2 quality potential. It's the golden ratio, especially when mid-game and you make back the money each time roughly.
I'd be curious to see how much profit/loss is made, based on buying all ore and using blast furnace to make bars. Seems like there might be profit even for ironman
i think its around 1-2 gp/xp cost for mith/addy but compared to gold being 6-8 that's pretty good, and a lot of it is passive with kingdom coal
What about 15/13 bar mixture? Maybe there's a unique mix ratio depending on the material. For example to make bronze is a 2 to 1 mixture.

I've been keeping rune items as long as I don't need the inventory space (close to the end of a trip/clue rewards). I'm overflowing with addy bars so I haven't bothered keeping any addy items.
Does the varrock armour work at the giants foundry?
So I've gotten 199 foundry from the Light Flat it comes out to 69 on the mold points and the bar wasn't full when I used half rune half addy so I think in order to get the *best* foundry the alloy shouldn't be half and half I feel like it will include a third metal at a smaller value but I'm not sure it needs more testing for sure but half and half isn't the best answer

How do you get your game running at 200fps? I have a 3070ti and mine stays around 90 to 120 and 117hd beta drastically drops in populated areas and yes I turned my settings to unlimited fps
Pretty sure you can toss alchables in as well like platebodies. So it might be better for ironmen to craft their bars into armor then gaint swords

I've been using 4 mith platebodies and 3 addy platebodies so 16/12. do you think im wasting much? I'd rather not use up plain bars.
if you take a look at the xp breakdown of each quality and compare to when you do one of the same quality(when i go through the notes), if its a difference that's like 10% or more its probably better to just use the bars at gf

Feels wrong saying it's been 20 years with 3 changes, when the clock was rewound by 5 of them. It's not really a contiguous timeline from the game's creation when it's not the original game itself. That asides, great video
Somethings were shit in the original game and with ironmen being so prevalent, old ways of training just aren't feasible with how hard being an iron is already. Ofc people maxed irons without the easier ways of doing things but they are die hard gamers and old "I done it the hard way so you should too" is just asking for players to quit

I wonder if Jagex will ever update a skill like they did in RS3 with mining / smithing. The reason it was updated was because it was so outdated with the new game, but even in osrs they seem to keep giving newer and newer training methods to make the skill easier / more efficient to do, really showing how old the skill is even in a game thats *meant* to be old. It makes me think that eventually they cant just release a new method for the skill and will just rework it like they did for RS3, or rework a skill that they havent reworked in rs3. Im not sure where the line is between EZscape and OGscape, mostly because with these new activities it seems to be getting blurrier and blurrier. They seem to be well received, but when will jagex go too far for a skill? Or can they never, and every update will be treated as banger after banger
I remember five years ago everyone was all over osrs being the best because it was the true og grind that was intended, now people praise speeding up skills. I almost think a bunch of rs3 users migrated lol

@@HiItsMars Thats basically what happened rs3 people migrated because rs3 was dying over the years, and now jagex keeps coming out with faster exp methods in the game that are cheap or are very cost effective.
I use to sell coal on the rs forums if anyone remembers those. the og auction house.
