Hi there! We understand your concern. The video covers setting up a VPN server using a service, which can be different from manually configuring everything from scratch. However, this method is designed to simplify the process for users who might not be familiar with complex server setups 😊
The subscription fee monthly is more expensive than most VPN services. That's going to be a deal-breaker for me. Why go through the trouble of doing all this work when you could have the simplicity of having it already done for? Usually it looks like almost half the cost
Hi! I understand your point - the main positive point about having your own VPN server on a VPS is enhanced privacy, security, and control over their online activities. It allows you to encrypt your internet traffic and bypass geo-restrictions without relying on third-party VPN services, which may log or monitor your data.
Hey there Sorry to hear you feel that way! Our goal is to provide helpful tutorials using our services. If you have any specific questions or need further clarification on setting up your VPN, feel free to ask. We’re here to help.
sorry i have a request! thought its not related to whats in this video. I had no way to interact with u but only by writing my message in the comment section. I want help on how to host an Express js web app on hostinger
Hey there 👋 For Express.js a VPS plan would be required; however, we'd like to mention that our VPS plans are self-managed, that means that all of the configuration, management and troubleshooting is done from the client's side 💜
Some other inquiry! Am having a web app build with html, css, js and php and it works with mysql database! One of features in this app where a user creates something called a season, for each season created a new mysql database created on the server where the app is hosted. And it's a php script that does this operation. So when I put the app on hostinger's shared hosting will this be working. Whereby new databases are created on the server via a php script triggered by the user?
If VPN will be setup, and a web page will be deployed in the VPS, is it possible to configure the web and make it only accessible to those devices connected to the VPN?
Yes, if you set up a VPN and deploy a web page on your VPS, you can configure the web server to restrict access so that only devices connected to the VPN can reach it. This typically involves configuring your web server's settings to listen for requests only from the VPN's IP address range. By doing this, any devices that are not connected to the VPN will be unable to access the web page, ensuring that only authorized users have access. 🙏
Hi! It is basically the same, but using your personal computer/server. You can check more details here: openvpn.net/access-server/. Keep in mind, you might have to pay more to get more than 2 connections while using OpenVPN, but you can also use alternatives (WireGuard is the most recommended due to its simplicity and for being free) 😉
Hi! While customizing the firewall to block pings and restrict traffic is a great step, it's important to note that not all attacks, including DDoS and other grey hat tactics, rely on pings. Firewalls alone can't prevent all types of attacks; they need to be part of a broader security strategy that includes intrusion detection, rate limiting, and other layers of protection to effectively guard against the diverse methods attackers use. 😉
It's so easy, it's my 92yo mother who told me how to install it.... 😳😳😳😳🙄😏 Seriously, I don't want to get older.... Eventually, it would be great to have a "one button to do all"...
Thanks for the input. This tutorial was designed to help viewers get started with VPNs, but I understand it may have come across differently. We appreciate the feedback and will keep it in mind to improve future videos 🙏

Unless you can make your own vps you're going to need to rent a VPs lol.
Yeah and it's not even 2025....vid has been up for 8 months too
@@harshbarj phil it's still valid even if he made the video 8 years ago.

so I create a VPN server and then connect with OpenVPN from my PC (windows laptop) to the server?
Hi! Yes, that's basically how the connection to the VPS is made.
@@HostingerAcademy tried and didn’t work for me sadly. (From Russia) 🇷🇺
This is just a 'buy my stuff' video disguised as a tutorial. 👎🏻

How can I choose a country you didn't mention in the video? For example, if I want to connect to Denmark, how can I set it up?"
You can't unless you live in Denmark or have a server running there.

Why don’t just customize the firewall and don’t allow not body to ping it and avoid any ddos or any other types of grey hat attack

Does Hostinger VPS has DDos protection?
Hey there!
Yes, our VPS plans do have DDoS protection; however, they are on a network level.
