@honolulublues5548 so what do you do as a play caller when the defense is taking away the only throws your qb can complete? And that qb can't move in the pocket to extend plays? There has been plenty of immobile qb's but the difference between them and goff is they can still make ALL THE THROWS. I have a feeling the next 4 games if our run game is not dominant we will struggle again because like I said he is such a limited qb the rams gave us 2 first round picks to take him.

The Lions are a draft or two away from a consistent contender. They have amassed 9 wins so far. Great. They still need a few pieces to compete with the top teams. O-line is a puzzle when one player is out. The secondary has second stringers starting. Pass rush is hit or miss. They may need a more creative QB going forward. Ben may have a job already in place. The issue is a combination of things, but ultimately on BJ/MCDC/BH here. Goff rushes his throws and the ball comes out a lame duck (should be fixed with coaching). Goff can throw a deep ball and to the sidelines (he just can't under pressure, or without a throwing lane) which can be fixed with coaching. They have a running back that was averaging 7 yards per carry, but they decide to keep throwing it (can be fixed with coaching). Sure, Goff is limited, but we all saw that when things are right for him, he can succeed. That's on coaching.

@thomaswatkins3686 there is a reason it's a great pic. So many teams are taking skill players (such as a tone on QBs) in the first this year. So instead of the first 2 to 4 excellent lineman getting picked in the first 10 to 15, they will fall to us the later first round.

I can’t disagree with you guy about anything that you mentioned today but the officiating today was absolutely horrible. However, I wonder what happened to the long passing game gone? I wonder if Goff is playing hurt? He has not played well since the bi-week. This shows me that we don’t sign Goff to any type of extension contract. I wonder why they haven’t told him to sit and play Bridgewater to get a spark.

Goff's inability to hit the deep ball really concerns me. Johnson, seems to know Goff's limitation and we sometimes get weird play calls in long yardage situations. It rarely turns out well. The weapons this offense has should be steamrolling defenses. I don't want to see a career ending new contract with Goff. With likely a new coordinator next year, it's time to give Hooker the Green light in 2024. From what I seen in college he has deep ball capability and he is hopefully still as mobile. What we are seeing is not a playoff caliber team. Also, Cambell has to stop hurting the defense with 4 down calls deep in our own territory. Plenty of time on the clock, it was ridiculous.

What was not a problem is beating bad teams(record wise and talent wise, I know every team has great talent but Lions were supposed to be better than the Bears and Packers). Now, that's a problem. The biggest problem is it's trending in the wrong direction at the worst possible time.

Concerning Goff not able to pass the ball deep, it sure looks that way. Lots of dropped passes... lots of bad passes with AND without pressure. Leaky O line... play calls in the second half by Johnson.... oh boy. And why are we still playing Jacobs? He gets regularly beat and teams are picking on him because the tape doesn't lie, they know it, pick on the weak! Why play him? If we keep playing like this, we'll lay and egg to the Vikings twice in a row! We really messed the bed!! 😳🥺

Dude. If the Lions finish 9-8, like last year, after starting 8-2, Dan Campbell should never coach another game in Detroit. It’s honestly that simple.
They could win 1 more. But look at their remaining schedule. A loss to Denver and going to a place they are horrible in and the Dallas says they could be realistically staring at 9-8 going into the last weekend.
That would be the epitome of epic failure, even at 10-7.
