Straight from the heart, if your relationship with Church is hurting you by all means find a community that will embrace you and encourage you to grow and thrive

I totally understand and agree. I too was near suicidal as well when I knew “praying the gay away” wasn’t working. I think I knew back then Jesus couldn’t cure me of being gay. I later understood there’s nothing wrong with me, and there was nothing to fix. I’ve seen Christian believers not wanting to take their medication because “Jesus should be enough”, and felt guilty when they did take their pills. Evangelicals don’t follow science and that can be dangerous to the individual struggling with mental health and identity issues. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Health, hugs, and happiness from Las Vegas. 🤟

That whole forgiving of random ass crimes really hit me hard. My entire family suffered because of my father being an abusive and terrible man. However, my pastor (an evangelical who followed all the Focus on the Family and Independent Fundamental Baptist stuff) blamed my mother for not being a submissive enough wife and said that our dad was just trying to properly lead the family. The pastor knew that we were being beaten, starved, and more. He even knew that my dad had threatened to rape me as a kid as well as raping my mother and he just said that if my mom submitted that I wouldn't get hurt. I did and my Mom is now dead from suicide.
I don't hate all Christians, but the harm caused to my family due to the pastor not reporting and "forgiving" terrible crimes will never truly stop haunting me.

This is what happens when you view things as black and white. When you think that things are ALWAYS right or ALWAYS wrong. For some reason, despite the fact that we know killing isn’t always wrong, you’ll still have people in the church insisting that things like divorce and abortion are always wrong. So even if there’s abuse in a marriage, divorce is still wrong. Even if having a baby will 100% kill the mother, abortion is still wrong. There’s just no nuance with these people. Life is messy and complicated and often times there are no easy answers, and the most obnoxious thing about religion is that it’s filled with people that like pretending none of this is true.

Oh my. Seems you never understood God's resolve for mankind's fall...
What lots of people (even pastors) don't (yet) understand.
God created us according to His own image and likeness. Godly.
Mankind/the first Adam fell. The image of God in man got lost. That's why there is all this predicament on earth (selfishness, greed, lust, wars, sicknesses, death, etc).
We are all born into that mess.
For the fall of man a perfect atoning sacrifice had to be made.... that is what God did in Christ.
With His own once and for all perefect sacrifice, He paid the debt for the fall of man for us, so we can be indwelled by His Spirit again and finally receive the divine life of the ages back, the first Adam let got of in the fall of man. An amazing act of grace and love by our creator.
That is what you see happening in Christ's first disciples. They too healed all and walked in unselfish love.
And yes.... that is still avaible today. The holy blood is in place, the Holy Spirit is here to give us understanding, power and transform us back to origin.
Not to be debated about, but to be embraced and be-come.
So: The Kingdom of God already came. Through Christ, in Spiritform, in those that understand.
Hence the divine healing miracles we experience.
God manifested in Christ to give us back the divine life mankind lost in the fall of Adam.
Christ, the exact image of the invisible God.
The image we were created after in Gen 1.
The image we lost in the fall of man.
The image that can be freely restored by Christ's blood and Holy Spirit working IN us.
What a plan. What a solution. What a love. What a God. Jesus is amazing.
It is the ultimate conclusion of the word and plan of God. God came full circle.
He Himself stooped down from glory to restore us back to original created value: Christlikeness. Walking in divine healing power and unselfish love.
Jesus, born of the Spirit of God, filled with the spirit of God. The "Son" of God, the incarnated word, God in the flesh.
For three years He healed all, raised the dead, casted out demons, controlled nature, spoke pure divine truth.
      He said:
"Follow Me. If you see Me, you see the Father. The Father and I are one. The glory I have IN My Father, I give to you. It pleases the Father to give you His Kingdom/Holy Spirit/divine nature. I will send Holy Spirit, the same as Me, He will be IN you, guide you into truth and give you explosive power. The same miracles i do, you will do too, because you will understand that the Father is IN Me and I am IN you. Freely I give you My Kingdom/Holy Spirit/divine nature, heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, freely I give, freely share" Etc, etc, etc.
I have experienced thousands of beautifull healing miracles through the power of Holy Spirit IN me already. Broken bones, cancers, covid, all kinds of infirmities healed in seconds. Demons manifesting and casted out by a simple "get out, in Jesus name".
Jesus. De name above all names. In Him all power and wisdom is sourced and.... He calls us one with Him. God in man and man in God again. C'mon Jesus!!
So.... again: God stooped down IN Christ to restore us back to Gen 1:27 were He said: "Let us make man according to our image and likeness and let them have authority.....": walk as Christ.
Christ, the exact image of the invisible God. The image we were created after and being restored to by His atoning blood for the fall of man and indwelling Holy Spirit.
You are free to receive this original divine life of the ages by Holy Spirit of Christ/God. Ask Him to guide you into truth. Read the Gospel of John and fall in love with your creator.
You are not made for the fall of man and its effects, but for the image/glory of God and to walk like Christ. Holy Spirit is the guide and transforming power that will get you there. Amazing grace.
A big leap in faith can be made when we start realizing we are already IN Christ, IN the last Adam.
Free from the fall! Loved! Growing into awareness of our new (yet old) godly identity. Changing by Holy Spirit. The most fullfilled life ever.
Paul healed all on Malta. He understood and wrote:
"As in the first Adam ALL died (lost the divine nature), so also ALL were made alive IN Christ to walk in Zoë (= divine life) again".
"IN Christ (the last Adam) we are co-cruisified (dead to the fall and its effects), co-raised (justified/made righteousness, holy, blameless, above reproach), co-seated (one with Him)"
"The fullness of deity dwells in Christ and YOU HAVE BEEN MADE COMPLETE IN HIM, who is the head of every principality and power".
So.... thank you Jesus! Thank you for redeeming me from the fall of man. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that makes this new (yet old) divine life come alive in me. You are amazing!
In the shadow of Peter the sick healed... He understood too and wrote:
"By Gods power (Holy Spirit) and knowing Christ, we have become partakers of the divine nature and have escaped the fall of man".
The divine life of the ages has been returned to us by Jesus once and for all perfect atoning sacrifice for the debt of the fall of man and His indwelling Holy Spirit in us. Jesus/God is amazing!!!
Ask Him to give you revelation and change you to the way it was before the fall of man: Christlikeness.
He will do so. For it is written: "the Spirit brings forth after His own kind".
"I have come to give you Zoë (divine life) in abundance...."

Thanks so much for your honesty. For me it was the list of "Do's and Don'ts" that made me feel inadequate and further away from God. Finally I decided to leave church, not saying everyone should, but I needed to be uninfluenced and sort myself out.
What I found is that religion says "Fix yourself and God/we will accept you" while the Gospel is supposed to be "Come just as you are and I will give you righteousness as a gift". Religion says "You have to work hard to stay forgiven and right" while the true Gospel is supposed to be: "With a single sacrifice I have made you perfectly accepted and irreversibly forgiven forever". Religion says "God is in love with a future version of you" while the Gospel of Grace is supposed to be: "God loves you as you are right now unconditionally and is NEVER GOING TO CHANGE". This reveals a bit of what I found. Please see my journey as I left the church in this link for more: th-cam.com/video/WHGJZRMIA08/w-d-xo.html

I would point out the Bible is able to offer testable, verifiable evidence in the form of specific, fulfilled prophecies - in fact, the Bible is about 1/4 prophecy! In addition to the many, many historical examples of fulfilled prophecy, here are just a few that have happened in the past 100ish years.
Israel Scattered and returning to her land:
Deuteronomy 28:64 says, "And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other...". Additionally, Ezekiel 36:19-24 says, "I dispersed them among the nations, and they were scattered through the countries; I judged them according to their conduct and their actions. And wherever they went among the nations they profaned my holy name, for it was said of them, ‘These are the Lord’s people, and yet they had to leave his land.’ I had concern for my holy name, which the people of Israel profaned among the nations where they had gone. “Therefore say to the Israelites, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: It is not for your sake, people of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone. I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy through you before their eyes. “‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land."
This is quite amazing. God said He would scatter Israel throughout the world for their disbelief and return them back to their land. What other people in the history of mankind has been scattered across the world for hundreds/thousands of years and then returned to their homeland (the very same geographic land) as an identifiable people? This isn't just being moved from one place to another place after being conquered - it is being literally scattered throughout the world. This is unprecedented throughout the history of humankind and yet the Bible said it would happen way before 1948 when Israel was reborn as a nation. In fact, Jews have been returning to Israel from all over the world such as: China, The US, Japan, Russia, India, France, Argentina, Sweden, Spain, Poland, Canada, the UK, South Africa, etc.
      The land divided:
We are also told the land will be divided in Joel 3:1-2, which says, "In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land". Notice that last part "...and divided up My land". It was foretold that the land would be divided! Logically, if it weren't divided then God couldn't put the nations on trial for dividing it.
Yes, Israel is back in a part of the very same land they used to have just as foretold, but the land has been divided as well (and nations continue dividing and/or trying to divide it to this day). The land was in fact divided by Britain, who was in charge of making this land a place for the Jewish people. Instead much of the land was given to the Arabs/"Palestinians". This was formalized in the United Nations Partition Plan which was adopted by the UN General Assembly On 29 November 1947 Resolution 181. This was written WAY before 1947/1948, yet we now see that the land has been divided by the nations and they keep dividing/trying to divide it. Although this did not actually create the nation of Israel, it divided the ancestral land of the Jews.
The country reborn in 1 day:
What's more, the Bible said Israel would be reborn as a nation in 1 day. Isaiah 66:7-8 says, "Before she goes into labor, she gives birth; before the pains come upon her, she delivers a son. Who has ever heard of such things? Who has ever seen things like this? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children." This happened May 14, 1948 when Israel declared itself to be a nation and President Truman (the US being a superpower of the time) formally acknowledged them as such. Contrast this with the founding of the US - they declared themselves to be a nation with the declaration of independence in 1776, but no countries acknowledged them as a nation at that time. In fact, the first country to declare them a nation was Morocco in 1777 and the first major world power of the time to acknowledge them was France in 1778.
Yet, in the case of Israel, Britain's mandate over the land ended at midnight on May 14, 1948 and Israel declared themselves to be a nation and were recognized as a nation in this one day - fulfilling the prophecy with stunning precision!
Let's step back now and think about these prophecies. The Bible makes the claim that the Jewish people would be scattered throughout the entire world and return to the very land they were in as an identifiable people. To put into perspective just how bold this prophecy is, this feat has never happened to any other people throughout the history of humankind. In essence, the Bible predicted something that has never happened throughout human history would happen to a specific people long before it happened, and it came to pass exactly as foretold! As if that wasn't enough, it foretold that this very land would be divided among the nations, which we know also happened in 1947/1948 and beyond. Even more, it foretold that the nation of Israel would be "born" in 1 day - which happened with stunning accuracy on May 14, 1948! There isn't any other religion out there that offers these kinds of specific prophecies that we know with 100% certainty were written well before they happened.
We don't need to simply have blind faith in something - we should have a good reason for what we believe and the Bible provides it! Why not accept the gift of salvation today?
John 3:14-18, "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son."
Additionally, here is a fabulous message illustrating salvation through the account of the thief on the cross. It's only a about a half hour and for something with eternal consequences, it makes sense to at least hear it out right? :) th-cam.com/video/_WKnPfjY2lQ/w-d-xo.html

Craft a non contradictory and consistent salvation narrative using EVERY scripture that talks about salvation, what it takes to be saved, and avoid hell or the lake of fire or annihilation or whatever you think happens to us non believers when we die.

Free from the fall! Loved! Growing into awareness of our new (yet old) godly identity. Changing by Holy Spirit. The most fullfilled life ever.
Paul healed all on Malta. He understood and wrote:

"IN Christ (the last Adam) we are co-cruisified (dead to the fall and its effects), co-raised (justified/made righteousness, holy, blameless, above reproach), co-seated (one with Him)"

So.... thank you Jesus! Thank you for redeeming me from the fall of man. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that makes this new (yet old) divine life come alive in me. You are amazing!

Christianity is a strange religion because of its weird concept of sin.
The sin argument is an interesting one.
Christian apologists claim that Adam and Eve were created perfect but they had freewill - hence why they sinned.
The problem with this claim is that if they were created perfect then they should have always made perfect decisions.
Imperfection does not give birth to perfection.
That goes against the rules of logic.
      PERFECTION BEGATS PERFECTION.
      IMPERFECTION BEGATS IMPERFECTION.
      Logic always wins.
Therefore, the Christian apologists claim is completely wrong from a logical standpoint - of course, that is if we are using the same logical parameters to assess this topic in the same way we would assess everything else in life.
Of course, the Eden story is entirely mythological - but Christian apologists interpret the story literally - thats the problem.
      You see,
All the geographical locations in the bible are actually real - so are the various people groups mentioned in the bible.
But all the stories are entire mythological and consist of allegory and metaphor.
In fact, all the worlds organised religions are actually the same in this manner.
Ancient Humans were simply trying to understand the world around them and their greater purpose - so they wrote what they SURMISED was Gods nature and mixed in their own folklore tales with it.
They then put these ALLEGORICAL hybrid tales into books and the resulting end products are what you would call the so called "holy books" from the various people groups around the world.
There is nothing surprising about this.
Thats just human beings behaving like human beings.
Throughout the thousands of years people groups from around the world have done this.
The trick is to make the various resulting religions work for YOU.
Rather than YOU working for these religions.
Hell was not taught as a lake of fire in the Old Testament.
The greek idea of hell in the New Testament is very easy to explain.
Let us first examine the Jews.
The orthodox Jews claim that both Christianity and Islam are actually BASTARDISATIONS of orthodox Judaism.
The orthodox Jews do not believe in hell as a place of eternal torture by fire.
That would explain why greek ideas of hell have been put in Jesus's mouth by the greek writers of the New Testament.
Especially, considering that in order for any person to learn greek 2000 years ago the only greek writings actually available to actually PRACTICE learning the greek language were greek mythological epics which documented precisely greek ideas of hell.
For example, Hades and Tartarus are terms for hell copied straight from the greek mythological epics which contained these concepts and ideas.
People simply learnt these Greek epics as a way of practicing reading and writing greek as the main greek writings were all mythological works.
The New Testament writers then copied these greek ideas of hell into the greek
      New Testament they were writing.
The New Testament is a fusion of Judaism and Greek mythology.
Hellinistic Judaism is well documented by Orthodox Jews themselves.
      It was eventually suppressed -
but It re-emerged as New Testament Christianity in 325ad.
The difference is that this time it was backed by the state of Rome in what became known as Roman Catholicism.
ALL, the various protestant denominations copied these doctrines as they branched off from Roman Catholicism.
They left out other doctrines and took the main doctrines into their new Protestant version of Christianity.

This fact makes me smile. The decline in religious belief is happening worldwide as more and more people embrace science and reason or religious tradition. By the year 2050 there will be more non religious people in the US than people of faith. I do suspect in the next ten years the “Boomers” will fight like hell to maintain control of government, but after they die so shall their influence. Happy New Year.

Very compelling story. I found myself nodding at everything he said. One of the reasons I deconverted in the 1980s was because my own extreme evangelical beliefs lead me to treat a gay friend very badly. I eventually became deeply ashamed and disgusted with myself, because he truly was the best friend I ever had. By the time I was done with religion, I was in the military, and because of time and distance and one serious misunderstanding, I was never able to mend that relationship. Two decades later, I was so sad to learn that he had died. But I am glad to see that Kris is happy and sounds like he is leading his best life. Hope his message gets through to other people.

      Nod at this.

My evangelical beliefs caused me to speak out against gay people , particularly one.....myself. That too was in the 1980s. I too left mainly because of homosexuality, but not the only reason. I mean I was supposed to enjoy heaven with my non believing loved ones in hell! I did have spiritual experiences that also caused me to doubt too. I had an experience of God's love so powerful once while an evangelical: it was so beautiful that it caused me to doubt doctrines. I remember thinking there is NO WAY that the God I experienced would send anyone to torture forever. Period. And once when they laid hands on me to deliver me from a homosexuals demon I felt such an amazing peace descend on me and the words appeared in my head, " It's ok. It's ok". I remember thinking, "wow that wasn't supposed to happen" .

I grew up in the church. Walked away when I was in the Marine Corps for 8 years. My daughter wanted to go to church when she was young, so we started going to church. In 2018, I had an unpleasant experience from a discussion between the sabbath school leader and another church member. The sabbath school leader told the guy, he was wrong; he split his tithe up and gave half to the church and the other half to his mom to help her financially. I told the guy, not to worry about what was said, but that God is fine with what he was doing. I went home and started researching tithe, and what I found was the complete opposite of what I grew up hearing in the church. I get push back from Christians when I start asking questions that go against what we were always taught. Based on what I found, I would get anxiety just going to church. COVID happened, and I have never gone back. I realized from the 8 years away from the church, and now, I am much happier. I'm currently finding out that the Bible is a book of stories and it teaches on aztrotheology. There is astrology/zodiac throughout the Bible; something that is taught to be satanic by Christians.

I keep trying not to grow weary on my own and I don't feel like God is hearing me. Just came here to get another perspective at this time...I have a lot of fear and it sucks. I also grew up pentecostal. However, I don't think all Christians are like some people mentioned..maybe they are all just as confused as me though. Also my best friend in middle school and high school is gay and he was my pastors son. I was the first person he told because he was scared to tell anyone else we were 16..when people at our church and his parents found out, his family recieved over like a hundred sympathy cards in the mail. It was very disheartening. After that, I still went to church and walked with Jesus but I think something changed a little bit.

I've been on a wild spiritual journey. I was raised in the Baptist Church and hated it with having a dad who was a deacon for 30+ years and now a minister for 15 years dragging me to church till I was 18. I continued following my mom to church for another 12 or 13 years before deconverting at 31. In those years, I was practically anti-theist and never agreed with the Christian faith as someone to attempt to convert others to or be proud of. I started attending a Unity Church at the time for two years and then afterward left the god belief and became an Atheist for about five years. I've dabbled into Christianity by visiting an LGBTQ Progressive Christian Church for about a year and even fell into an evangelical / deliverance ministry during a vulnerable time in my life which what many may consider a cult for about 6 months with a Christian coach and ministry as a whole who was very anti-gay and anti-sex. My coach was trying to cast out the demon and was convincing me to leave my husband. Since then, I'm still on my journey. For nearly 8 years now even through my dabbling in Christianity, I've identified as a Secular Humanist first and foremost. I try to give everyone's beliefs a chance but know that I never have and never will stick with any type of dogmatic tradition that teaches you to hate yourself or that you are a sinner. I'm a winner, not a sinner.

  • @nim831
    @nim831 ปีที่แล้ว +4

First I would like to commend you for making this video. I understand the backlash that you could get from Christians and the risk there is in sharing something like this. I am a Christian myself and have seen the negative reaction that people tend to default to when they see such a thing as a turn away from the faith and often don't take a moment to see the person and reasons behind it.
There are a lot of things I would like to hear more about but to me this seems like--at the surface level--the Church experience that you had was one where the "Christians" clearly weren't trying to live for God. I can't address everything you talked about in this video because, it was a lot, and I honestly don't know enough about the individual things to make a good judgement on how to approach your situation; but I'll just say a few things:
I find often it is the _people_ that deter other _people_ from a relationship with Christ and it seems like that was the case with you. The people around you within the Church were tempted by such things as wealth, power/status, and sex/sexual pleasure--obviously things that us Christians are supposed to give up for pursuing a relationship with God--and acted in an unrighteous to say the least. To me it seems like you saw how they acted and left because of them.
I would assume that you left Christianity because it was the Gospel that you didn't agree with, specifically the sinful nature of man, or things God did throughout the Old Testament in the name of keeping justice, or maybe it was your battle with homosexuality and you didn't like the Christian view on the relationships men and women are supposed to have, or maybe it was just other things that you couldn't bring yourself to agree with (morally or logically). I'd respect the decision to leave the faith for all of these things, that is your God given free will--even if I think it is a foolish decision.
I just don't want you to abandon a relationship with God and throw away eternal life for how people had treated you. As stupid as this might sound, I want you to leave God because you disagree with Him and how He acted, not because you disagree with others and how they acted. Don't deny a relationship with God because of the people that represent Him, deny God because of how _He_ represents _Himself_ .
So I don't look like an absolute fool (here is a rough list of what I believe):
I believe that sin does separate us from God, if that were not the case then why would we need Jesus. God is so holy that we (the sinful) need to be reconciled with Him through the punishment of the one who lived a sinless life--God needs justice for the wicked to be enacted, so that we can be given grace.
I am not familiar with the Pentecostal Church but would consider myself to support the belief of an Evangelical (supporting the need to share the Gospel message with those who do not believe).
I do believe the Bible is inerrant/infallible, I do believe that everyone is a sinner and is in need of a savior which is Jesus Christ, I do believe that purity culture by the way you defined it, is sick (sick: in the negative denotation), I do not support Trump and don't see the value in tying myself to a political figure or group--even though religion can often be tied to the political, and I do not throw science completely out the window in the place of my faith in God--even if I value my faith in God more than science.
    To finish:
I know I won't be able to convince you to go back to the Evangelical Church (maybe I have shined some light on what heart some Christians have though), but God's arms are always open and He wants you to repent. No matter what you choose, I hope you do find happiness and some sort of meaning in this fallen world. God bless you, I love you and so does He.

In the West I think the belief is that civilization only came a relatively short time ago, which is incorrect. In higher ages they knew about everything. Intelligence decreases and increases with the cycles. We have left a dark age behind and are entering an atomic and quantum age where much will be discovered, or rather rediscovered. Life is cyclical in reality and linear to perception.

Do you read books? I highly recommend "Nature's God" by Matthew Stewart...it's full of the American founders, Epicurus, Spinoza and the pretty "not Christian at all" history of America.
I am a son of a US veteran that meet my mother in Berlin, Germany. I spent 21 years in Germany before I moved to Indiana....I couldn't believe how unhinged the religious denominations are and I'm the type of militant atheist that mainly studies Evolutionary theory...but drifts into History, Political science, philosophy and of course the histories of religions...
I never needed a Church or a believe...and concerning a philosophy for life....I get way more out of the enlightenment, the works of some American founders, Karl Poppers Falsification principle, Methodological naturalism....I take - what I think applies to my life and happiness - moral guidelines by enlightenment philosophers (Epicurus, Spinoza, Voltaire, Karl Marx, Nietzsche) but I also take bits and pieces out of the Abrahamic religions and ideas from India. There's many modern ideas that are far superior than the so called "Christian moral framework"...
But yes, a Religion that literally rejects the scientific revolution, is based on a book edited revised translated thrown together full of supernatural mumbo jumbo is something I will reject...and movements like Christian Nationalism/ Dominionist theology (Seven Mountains Mandate) are so unhinged anti american, anti democracy and anti pluralism....it has pulled me even farther away from Christianity....I consider it a dangerous fascist ideology.
PS= A fantastic book is "Gods Anatomy" by Francesca Stavrakopoulou....and a personal, secret, under appreciated book is from E.Fuller Torrey called "Evolving Brains Evolving Gods: Early Humans and the Origins of Religion."
More a counter history to Religion is the beautiful book by Jennifer Michael Hecht called "Doubt: A History."

All religions have issues true. Tanach
has a lot of legends in it that we're
    brought by Abraham from
    Mesopotamia and handed down by
oral tradition. NT has a lot of Greek
    mythological ideas in it. The
Egyptians taught that if you eat and
drink off the gods then you absorb
some of their power. That's where
    that idea originated. Singer doesn't
    seem to know anything!!
Tanach is based on worship of El Bull
(the golden calf) then there is Yahweh
    and his girlfriend Asherah. Genesis

      Therefore unadulterated truth...
One of the reasons people misrepresent God / are confused about God is the horrible translation errors in our bibles made by clerks of "a certain denomination".
They had no clue about God's intend, so made it fit their conviction.
Luckely the original line is clearly visible.
1: God created us after His own image and likeness. Gen 1:27.
2: Man fell. That is what you see in this world: lust, greed, selfishness, strange philosophies, sicknesses, corruption, terrorism, death, etc, etc. Genesis 3.
3: God, the spirit of life, manifests fully in Christ, pays the debt for mankinds fall so we can be indwelled again by His Spirit and be transformed back to origin. John 14-17.
Pure grace, love, power of God for His creation.
Hence the divine healing miracles and casting out of demons His first friend, i and many others experience up to this day!
Some examples of these idiotic translation errors.
Saved, from the Greek Sozo actually means: made complete, brought back to origin.
Eternal life from the Greek Zoë means: life of God, divine life.
"You will see Jesus coming on the clouds" actually reads: "You will perceive Jesus from a heavenly perspective"... who He is, what He did, who you are IN Him.
"Everyone not found in the book of life will be thrown in the lake of fire" actually reads: "Everything not found in the book of life....". Every lie we believed about God and ourselves will vanish through Jesus's truth.
Wrath from the Greek Orge means PASSION. So there is no wrath of God upon mankind. God IS love!
Wrath from the Greek Thumos also means PASSION. There goes the "bowls of wrath" poured out by God over humanity... it's "bowls of boisterous PASSION" through Chris that are poured outt!!!
Etc, etc, etc, look it up in the Kittel Theological Dictionary or in any Greek/Hebrew Strong's app. It's there.
So now we have ignorant preachers parotting the lie that we have to be saved from God's wrath by Jesus (who is God....) and "have to repent or go to hell". Utter nonsense.
In stead it is: God restores us through Christ by His own atoning blood sacrifice and indwelling Holy Spirit, from mankind's fall, to His own image and likeness (Christlikeness) because of... passion.
For God so loved the world....
God cannot be tempted to do evil....
There is no turning or shifting with Him....
If you don't love you don't know God, for God is love....
The goal of all instruction is... love
      The Father Himself loves you....
      Jesus healing all..... love
      Jesus raising the dead..... love
      Jesus casting out demons.... love
      Jesus controlling nature..... love
If wrath would be in God, it would be the tenth fruit of the Spirit.... and it is not!
      Etc, etc , etc.

Hi, Kris. The treatment which you endure from those around you who proclaimed to be true members of the body of Christ fell short and didn't uphold the ways of Christ, or even attempt. It seems like they were just wolves in sheep's clothing. Listening to your story as you shared your experiences made my heart heavy. I have a similar story to yours. I was raised in the church however around a lot of what I call "hypochristians", who love to do evil and condemn others but when you look at them and their fruit the Holy Spirit was not evident. I couldn't understand how a group of people who proclaim Jesus Christ as their Lord and SAVIOR, and could quote scripture and apply it to condemn others but never measured themselves accordingly. It made me sick and caused a lot of trauma. I didn't want anything to do with the church or so-called Christians. And I didn't want anything to do with God. I couldn't even wrap my head around the concept of God and I had so many questions regarding the creation and didn't understand how Jesus could be God if, he is the son. I was so confused but out of fear I didn't ask many questions because I didn't want to appear as if I were questioning God, but I truly didn't understand what the heck was going on. So I denounce my faith and began my journey of seeking the truth. I researched and dappled in and considered so many things such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Law of Attraction, New Age, Tarot cards, African spirituality, and so many other things. However, I didn't have peace I was still longing for something and I knew I hadn't found it. I turned my back on all things Christ and even God because I wanted to put all those things behind me because of the trauma and hurtful experiences that I experienced and watched others as they endured hurt caused by others in the church who claimed to be sanctified and filled with the Holy Spirt. I didn't understand why such horrible people would proclaim such a thing and could treat others so wrong. It wasn't until I went and sought after the one true Living God, Our Creator, Elohim, on my own that I found what I was longing for. It wasn't until I sat my pride aside and went to God humbly and asked questions that I found what I was seeking. When I realized that I was blaming GOD for the failures of people and their wickedness this is when I encountered God. It was like all the questions I had the answers were revealed to me. And once I sought after God for myself I began to understand that humans are flawed but God is Holy. This later helped me understand why we needed a savior because we are unable to save ourselves no matter how hard try. Often there are reasons why we endure things, whether it be for a lesson, testimony, or to realize the flaws of humans and why we honestly need God and should follow His will. Each time we step outside of His will we end up empty or later on realizing no matter how free we feel, we are still seeking or trying to fill a void. I began to understand the things that I struggled against whether it was, trauma or some other horrible circumstances are not physical battles but strongholds and spiritual battles which God has given us the power and authority to overcome through the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus. Please don't allow condemnation, wicked people, or the demons working through those false Christians to turn you away from God. Religion is a man-made construct, and this is something that I had to learn. Rid pride, and realize that those people that hurt you were not of the true Living God. God is not in agreement with the wicked ways of those people. And I'm quite sure He doesn't approve of the hurt they caused you or their wickedness. I'm not here to condemn or make you a believer in what I'm saying. I didn't even want to comment, but my heart was so heavy. I experienced much of what you shared and wish someone would've come to me out of love and let me know the truth. ❤️

At 0:23, I invite you to do a deep dive into what "born again" in the famous verse John 3:3, actually means. The key words to focus on are the metaphorical definition of 'gennao' G1080 (to beget) and 'anothen' G509 (from above, from Heaven above, 'again', etc). Many people think that being "born again" is a feeling or an emotional event or some vague "spiritual" experience. When understood rightly, "born again" or "begotten from above" will blow your mind, it is so simple and powerful.
Being begotten from above or born from above touches on the distinction between the man-made and the truly, truly divine.
The vast majority of churches teach man-made doctrine, typically focusing on "the church fathers" instead of on Father YHVH and His Son who is The Example of HOW to walk in the truly, truly divine Instructions of Father YHVH. Even my mother had terrible experiences growing up in a Lutheran church where pastors would say terrible things to people grieving over the loss a loved one and espouse things that are clearly NOT FOUND in the Bible. The hypocrisy of these churches and the apathetic/bitter/hypocritical people who attend them do incredible damage and PUSH people FAR AWAY from knowing Him, loving Him and walking in His Ways instead of walking in the dead, heavy, and burdensome doctrines and traditions of men. We are commanded to love God and to love one another. AND the Bible gives us clear definitions of what "love God", and "love one another" actually mean so we are not left confused. But you will rarely hear such things in mainstream church, because it would destroy the church (the church must survive at all costs, even if they have to sacrifice the Truth of God's Word).
Jesus came to teach the truly divine Doctrine of His Father and repeatedly rebuked the religious people of His time, the Pharisees, scribes and "teachers" of the Torah of YHVH. If Jesus walked into a church today and started preaching the Divine Word of His Father, they would kick Him out! Mark my word!

I would challenge you to look into the historical accuracy of the Biblical narrative. Modern scholars both Christian and Secular are in agreement the Old Testament didn’t happen as it is stated in the Bible. It’s most likely Abraham, Moses, Joshua, the taking of Canaan never existed. The Bronze Age Hebrew created a history, an origin tale to share with their society. None of it happened. As for the New Testament there is no historical proof of Jesus outside of the Bible. Some quote Josephus and Roman historical figures, but none of them were contemporaries of Jesus and were non eyewitnesses. Even the gospels were written by non eyewitnesses. My deconstruction started with observation of the hypocrisy in churches and was solidified by the historical data. I’m no longer a Christian because it simply never happened. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I have no idea why your video showed up in my feed, but maybe things happen for a reason. I too hit a crossroads with the Christian faith of my childhood when I was in my 30s. I went through a period of being angry at Christianity and felt compelled to explore other things. I also felt at the time like it took more than it gave, too many activities I had to help with, too many committees, meetings, etc...I had to stop the merry-go-round and get off. It was good for me, and I came to realize I was mad at people, not the religion itself. After about 20 years I have picked up my Bible again, started reading and praying, and finding alot of comfort there. I still don't go to church, but listening to people who have a more intellectual and psychological approach to religion like Jordan Peterson has helped a great deal. He has a fabulous series on Genesis that taught me more than I learned from 30 years of church, and it was nice to be freed from the pressure of blind faith alone. The thought exercises were just the brain food I needed. We as humans are set up to need some kind of belief and faith in something bigger than ourselves. Without that we fall into worship of Self, which only leads to narcissism, hedonism and an unhealthy psyche. Structure and discipline is good for us. Humans don't do too well when we are totally left to our own devices. We throw out the moral foundation at our peril because the void created by casually tossing out God can be filled with something worse. Go and explore, it's alright for that to be your path for awhile, just avoid worship of the self, that is deadly. Today's social media feeds that monster and is a perfect mirror of that brand of pathology. I wish you well on your journey and maybe this is what God wants for you right now.

@Melanie W Life's too short to stay angry so it's good that you got over that.
I would like to correct a mistaken belief that you seem to hold though: people do not need some kind of faith or belief. The world and the universe are wonderous all to themselves without the need for superstitions and "higher powers". Most people without religion are good in-and-of-themselves for they do not do good for fear of punishment or for eternal rewards; they do good because it's the right thing to do, and that's all that is needed for them.
I hope that you do well in your life; and that you continue your journey away from the grifters and bad people you found in your faith, and continue to encounter today in the unproductive lessons of Jordan Peterson. There's so much more to life than people who want nothing more than to take advantage of you in the name of "God".

I drifted away from the Lord for a while. I was making good money, seemingly on the right path career wise, but I was not spending any quality time in prayer. I started to drink and party and I was hanging out in strip clubs. Not having been raised in a Christian home with any real Church background I was exposed to porn at an early age and that stuff clung to me tighter than my own skin. It kind of messed me up inside. Anyway, I gave up my position for a lesser one because I lost my anointing and I knew it. I continued to drink and struggle with porn until finally the Holy Spirit jerked the slack out of me and told me "No more!" The wicked one attacks me regularly with thoughts of failure and uselessness but I've already seen Jesus when I got saved. I catered to my flesh while I drifted from the Lord but I repented and ran back to God and He embraced me like He always does and I will always love God Almighty and my Savior Jesus.

The only usefulness that I see for the bible is as a magical text or a series of allegories or a series of mythoi
I can no longer entertain any perspective that views any part of the bible as nonfiction
It seems though that you have only experienced one type of Christianity namely the charismatic kind
I suggest that you stay away from more Calvinistic churches because they will be more of the same judgmental attitude
The kind of churches I would suggest are the Episcopal Church or progressive Christianity type churches or Unitarian universalist churches
All of those are more accepting of same sex marriages
That is only if you really feel like you want to try a different type of Christianity
On the other hand there are many other ways to have spirituality
The real objective is to find whatever works for you
As for me I am already pagan
I had to grow up with a more Calvinistic background and I can guarantee you that you are not missing out by not having that experience
Anyways I enjoy listening to why people change from one thing to another especially when it comes to spirituality or whatever you want to call it

The only usefullness of the bible is for you to understand what even most pastors don't understand.

For I delivered to you first of all that which I received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Eph. 2:8-9 For by grace (from God) are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Rom. 10:9-13 That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. For scripture says, Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between Jew and the Greek (Gentiles): for the same Lord over all is rich to all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Joh. 3:16 For God so loved the world (us), that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus), that whosoever believes in him should not perish (in hell), but have everlasting life (with God). Joh. 14:6 Jesus said to him (us), I am the way (salvation), the truth (trustworthy), and the life (eternal): no man comes to the Father (God), but by me (God the Son). Rom. 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:]

It is nearly a full copy of the book of Isaiah, which contains Isaiah 53 (go listen to Mike Winger's video on Isaiah 53 in the evidence for the Bible playlist for further elaboration). Dr. Michael Brown explains that this is about the Jewish Messiah:
      th-cam.com/video/ZkGv0AEUFF4/w-d-xo.html
But what it says is nearly the exact same thing that is in our present-day Bibles. Jesus FULFILLED ALL OF IT. It reads as follows:
_"WHO HAS BELIEVED what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had NO FORM or MAJESTY that we should look at him, and NO BEAUTY that we should desire him. He was DESPISED and REJECTED BY MEN, a man of SORROWS and ACQUAINTED with GRIEF; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was DESPISED, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has BORNE OUR GRIEFS and CARRIED OUR SORROWS; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was PIERCED for OUR TRANSGRESSIONS; he was CRUSHED for our INIQUITIES; upon him was the CHASTISEMENT that brought us PEACE, and with his WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned-every one-to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he OPENED NOT HIS MOUTH; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth. Yet it was the WILL of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an OFFERING FOR GUILT, he shall SEE HIS OFFSPRING; he shall PROLONG HIS DAYS; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, MAKE MANY to be ACCOUNTED RIGHTEOUS, and he shall BEAR THEIR INIQUITIES. Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he BORED THE SIN of MANY, and makes INTERCESSION for the TRANSGRESSORS."_
      Isaiah 53:1‭-‬12

I "left" Christianity because of simple truths, altho I did not see it (or did not want to see them) back in the day:
    - REALITY is not covered fully by the Bible!
    - DISCRIMINATION towards those realities that are not covered by the Bible! (LGBTQ, man vs woman, nature affecting lives, etc)
    - HISTORY shows that a religion is not "unique" as a concept and that is has an origin and evolution
    - BIGOTRY through different interpretations of and claims made by the BIble
    - HUMANITY contradicts the Bible!
    - asking the question how a true, loving and fair god would be and what does the Bible testify about that
    - the idea that women and men have to enter "roles" and can not divert from it (rights, fashion, etc)
    - putting responsibility of "sins" on humanity while humanity is supposedly made by a perfect being in the first place
There are a lot of good things to learn from the Bible, but they are in no way containing the ultimate truth about us or the world or the universe. I actually found the Bible more interesting once I stopped believing it. Books like the Bible are imo a really good insight in understanding humanity, who we are and where we came from, but not in a religious sense.
The biggest reasons for me starting to serious question my faith was the discrimination of the LGBTQ or other religions/denominations, the 'feeling' of religious and moral supremacy, the desire to want to convert everyone and put their noses into your business the whole time, saddling you up with guilt and shame. It demands your entire devotion, life, thoughts, but it does not give anything back. No proof of anything, just "feelings".
If someone leaves Christianity because it seems to be unfair, I find that a very good reason to leave it. If your identity does not count any longer, high time to leave.
Ps.: Christianity is by far not the worst to be indoctrinated by, it's rather soft compared to f.e. being indoctrinated by the nasty creation of Muhammad, who has much more threatening systems in place to keep the believers inside the mental prison.

I totally agree. I left Christianity for pretty much all those same reasons, but in a different order. I do appreciate the works in the Bible, but see it as more of an anthropological study of the people of its time now rather than an example of “God’s will” for mankind. It's weird but I DO believe in a God omnipotent because of the enormous life and universe. I am bisexual also and no matter how much I try to avoid attraction to certain men it doesn't go away. It's hard enough trying to meet a female and would much prefer a female for marriage but don't oust the possibility of a full wholeheartedly life with a man though I sometime feel it's probably because I suck at picking up girls. I've tried really hard to pray wholeheartedly to God for change and healing and find myself disappointed over and over. I'll still read my scriptures and as a musician I write much of my music based on hell and damnation, it's in me and am a doom and gloom metalhead. I can't say it's all a no go for God but its getting very discouraging and find hell an unfair place when I've repented of my past stupidities and but I've not heard Jesus speak to me or seen any enlightenment yet so where are you Jesus? Where? I've cried and prayed so much and nowhere can I find you!

There are other TH-cam channels that talk about individual deconstruction stories and also there are channels that talk about the origins of the Bible. You may be shocked to learn the Bible is not historical or literal in any sense of the word. Pastors don’t do themselves any favors if they told you the history written about in the Old Testament is contrived and never happened in recorded history. The invention of “hell” in the New Testament is borrowed from the Greek myth of the underworld. The Old Testament Hebrews didn’t even believe in a heaven or hell in the afterlife, and the truth of today is no one knows what is beyond our lives here. Religions tend to say they have the answers to life and death, but at best they are guessing or worse they are lying to gain followers. What if all is already shared, yet you didn`t bother to notice?
Little about some topics: ABORTSION, SLEEPING AROUND = SHARING SEED AND NOT RAISING THESE UP.
And let me ask a hard question here and there: WHY MALES CAN`T AND WILL NOT KEEP THEIR REPRODUCTIVE TOOLS MORE UNDER CONTROL? WHY ON EARTH ARE MALES SHARING THEIR OWN BODY MEMBERS SO EASILY? WHY ARE THEY UNABLE TO SUDDENLY DEAL WITH THEIR OWN SEEDS THAT START GROWING AND BECAME TO BE AS HUMANS? If males do not ask hard questions from themselves and do not change then complaining about the topic: it`s no use. For MALE was created 1st - that means: on the shoulders of males lays the most. There`s a reason MALES were created in the shape of a match cup - to TRULY STAND STRONG AND BE STRONG. A man sharing his seed here and there IS NOT A STRONG NOR WISE MAN. Raising up all the seeds man has share`d - and raising them up in truth - THEN WE CAN SAY: THAT MAN IS STRONG AND WISE ALSO.
      th-cam.com/video/mr69zkjCtvk/w-d-xo.html
If under your care are more then 1 child and only one shares your blood and you ain`t gonna feet them, you are then PURE EVIL. And no, being a MALE OR FEMALE ain`t matter here. for to make a child - both: MALE AND FEMALE IS NEEDED. Raising a child/children is the obligation of both. And if one can`t deal with raising a child/children then why sleeping around? Learn to ignore your fleshly desires. Learn to have control over your body. We already have billions broken souls, WHY ON EARTH WE ARE BUSY TO MAKE MORE? No, i`m not against having children and multiplying the earth with new generations. What i am against is: PRODUCING BROKEN SOULS. It is no good.
take care all the children living under your roof or the same will happen as was between 2 1st brothers ever lived on earth: CAIN AND ABLE. Jealously comes forth and one amongst these children, later in life, end up dead way before his or her time. Why? - because a child`s soul is broken. A child do not fully understand all the reasons why adults love one child more then others. That`s usually a reason why later in life, these children are enemies to each other. Raising a child/children, do not care about your own pride and opinions form other humans nor even your owns, CARE ABOUT HOW GOD SEES YOU AND TAKES YOU. Wrongly and unraised children = more violence in this world. And who are these who complain the most about this topic:? ADULTS in their old age. If we /all who are parents, no matter here is all the children are blood sharers or not/ make a way for more violence then no right is found for complain. We, older generations, want truly a change in this world, then let`s raise children in truth and in love. Lets be mad only if they do wrong, not because they do not share our genes.
Sadly, all humans ever lived - are wicked sinners, to become a saint - one MUST COME TO REPENTENCE AND BORN AGAIN. What truly means made in the image of GOD? - MADE IN 3. SPIRIT + SOUL + BODY - ALIVE HUMAN/LIVING SOUL. Let`s word it a little different: SPIRIT/GOD CREATED SPIRITS/HUMANS. We, humans are also SPIRIT BEINGS. Already ever lasting beings - that is one of the secrets of life. It`s just the body we live in, that must put on IMMORTALITY. So we, humans can be wholly everlasting beings. To be a human being - all 3 parts must be. It is sad, you still don`t know that nor understand.
Fact: nr.1: LUST AFTER ANOTHER`S HUMAN BODY AIN`T LOVE. True love is: LAYING DOWN ONE`S OWN LIFE /LIKE CHRIST DID FOR US/ SO OTHER`S CAN LIVE. THAT`S LOVE.
Fact nr 2: Real CHURCH IS HUMAN BODY ITSELF, FOR GOD IS A SPIRTI AND DO NOT NEED A BUILDING MADE BY HANDS. Know all the facts there is to know, lest you still be DECEIVED.
Fact nr. 3 Christianity was never a religion. It always been reality. It is time to fully understand that part. How come Christianity can and is reality? - Do some searching about FREEMSONRY.
Fact nr. 4: Being in gender/sex (for me, both words means the same thing) has only one purpose: TO MULTIPLY aka create new generations of humans.
Therefore if like you all stating, that gender and sex is changeable and optionable, then why not a single soul born without reproductive tools? and no, i do not mean here the "intersex" ones. for they born with confused body functions. That`s why they have both tools.
And by trying to change a sex/gender - you are stealing another human`s tools. Someone goes to grave without these.
Do not steal nor envy anything that another human have. But be wise and take care all that was given to you.
Use a little logic and even you are able to list real and logical facts.
If one leaves Christianity too easily, then sadly one haven`t had a clue, what is REAL CHRISTIANIY ALL ABOUT. That is fact nr 5.
Give some time and some chances and another soul comes form atheism to CHRISTIANITY aka become a Christ follower. No money needed to follow CHRIST. but it does cost us a lot: FOLLOWING A CHRIST COST US OUR EARTHLY LIVES.
Real Christian MUST BE WILLING TO SUFFER AND MUST BE WILLING TO LAY DOWN ONES`S LIFE, LIKE CHRIST DID FOR US, THE SAME WE DO FOR CHRIST.
Real Christians must come out from BABYLON AKA MATRIX , not find ways to still be in there.
Matrix is satan`s kingdom. How can you serve GOD in another`s god kingdom? - you can`t, you must make a chose: GOD OR MAMMON/SATAN? Whom you will serve? Where will you be forever: HEAVEN OR IN THE HOT LAKE?
Didn`t you notice? i give 4 more facts. Copy these and remember these.

New life is found ONLY in Jesus Christ.
You also said that you're "a believer of science and reason now." Science gets things wrong. For example, science believes that the Earth is about "4.54 billion years old", when in reality it's only about 6 thousand years old. Science believes in evolution, and a "big bang". The Bible debunks this in the Book of Genesis.
As for "reason", reason started in the Garden of Eden BY SATAN to deceive Eve. DEATH is because of reason and sin!
WAKE UP SUNSHINE, Biblical prophecy is being fulfilled before your eyes. The Bible prophesied that there will be a one world religion. What happened recently? The Pope, who is the anti-Christ announced that Chrislam is now the ONE WORLD RELIGION.
This is to unify all religions together. It will lead to the anti-Christ wanting to be worshipped.
There is a beast mentioned in the book of Revelation, and other books of The Bible. This statue represented "peace and safety". There is a warning in The Bible about when they start saying "peace peace". Sudden destruction shall come. What happened some time after it was erected? The war in Ukraine started! What is the Pope saying right now? "Peace and unity"!
Governments around the world are pushing for so-called "hate speech" laws. This is a small step into conditioning the people to be compliant for when the anti-Christ comes on the scene and demands to be worshipped as God in the temple of God!
They are also pushing for cashless systems. This is another form of conditioning for people to eventually receive a damning mark in their right hand or forehead.

@@stephenholland4441 your book is a myth. I no longer have fear of hell or your Bronze Age Hebrew god. Yahweh was just another god from the land of Canaan, and the Hebrews were vicious bandits in the region. Your god was manufactured by the Hebrews to justify their horrible war crimes. The Bronze Age Hebrews commits murder, rape, slavery, genocide, etc in the name of their god and modern day Christianity wants to do the same crimes and say it’s justified by their magic book. I don’t believe in you blood magic ritual of atonement, I don’t believe in talking snakes and donkeys, nor do I believe the dead come back to life days after. You were given a beautiful lie and you swallowed it whole. I would feel sorry for you and yours if you weren’t so goddamn dangerous. Evangelicals raided the capital on January 6th. Tell me do you believe president fat ass won the 2020 election? It appears Evangelicals will believe any crazy story you tell them and give away their money for 🐎💩 causes like re-electing a criminal like president fat ass. Good day to you.

The Catholic Church was and still is the beacon of Christianity. The Church fathers held councils and worked out the hard problems and guided the laity and kept cults at bey. The biggest problem, before the Age of Reason, was the dark occult and it was imperative that it be kept out of the mainstream. The Church had to deal with topics such as Transubstantiation, which Atheists make fun of today, but which could have had a destabilizing effect on the populace of the time. In our atomic and quantum age we can understand that forms are in essence energy at different rates of vibration, which would be incomprehensible or destabilizing in medieval times. Today science refers to consciousness as the hard problem. The Church has an answer for that as well, but today’s science, which is totally materialistic, is not interested. The Church is an institution inhabited and run by humans, who are not all intellectual or spiritual giants, but it does the best it can. People blame their problems on a lot of things, sometime their complaints are valid, and sometimes the last thing they want to acknowledge as the cause of their problems is themselves.

There is no historical evidence or eyewitness reports to what is claimed in both the Old and New Testament. It’s all fanciful stories used to create an origin for the Hebrews and later Christians. The Church patriarchs had great reasons to back up the narrative, power over the people. Science isn’t your enemy it’s your friend that’s trying to keep you alive.

I don’t see science as my enemy or anyone’s enemy. It advances the human cause even though because it operates in a dual system it is not perfect. It can have, and does have, both good and bad outcomes, for every boon there is a bane. Still science is our friend but we cannot realistically expect it to solve all problems or be without a down side. That is the nature of material life. It is neither all good or all bad but a mix of both.

The superstitions of the old age are dying as they should when confronted by the hard science of the modern era. More and more people are slowing leaving religion for a science based worldview. By 2050 there will be more nonreligious people than those who cling to the superstitions of the past. What’s your chosen career? Do you work in teaching or a scientific based career?

The “hard science of the modern era” so far has learned a lot about matter and how to measure it, to use it chemically as medicine etc. What it has not done is solve what is called “the hard problem of consciousness” or fully understood the forces of nature or the mind. Electricity for example, how many forms are there, or what is magnetism? There is a lot to be discovered yet. Science in a dual system is necessarily also dual, having both good and bad outcomes is inevitable. It is impossible to have one outcome without the other. The side effects of medicine is one outcome and many people are harmed or die annually due to reactions to medicine. They are collateral damage. Still science does have benefits but it is not a panacea. I would not deify science or think it will save mankind or do anything other than ameliorate some physical problems and suffering. There is still much suffering in life, both physical and mental.
I have an interest in science but never worked in the filed. I am currently at leisure, happily so.

Talk to Jesus like you talk to someone real in front of you.. God forgives all sins even when you are in it.. Struggling with it .. You are forgiven and loved by Jesus.. For him your faith in him and your love for him is more imp than those laws.. He knows how to work on your heart.. And it can be a slow and gradual process.. I cried my nights out in fear that i m always dng mistakes.. Hv no cntrl.. But it took me some yrs to understand I m always forgiven and loved.. And i can seehe literally does everything for our good.. And how constant struggle this can be initially.. But be with Jesus directly.. I m frm a hindu family frm india.. No Christisn frnds, church grp around me.. Jesus is my teacher..

Thank you so much for the suggestion, but I no longer have an imaginary friend named Jesus who lives in the sky. Wishing you all the health and happiness you can handle. Hugs from Las Vegas
