I have been a Ranger fan for 56 years, and except for 1994, it's the same story every single year with this team. ONE CUP IN 85 YEARS. Are you kidding me ?
The Rangers are the NY Jets of the NHL. They're baby food soft and the entire league knows it. No grit outside of the Tomato Can Rempe. The signs were always there but their powerplay hid a lot of the flaws. Now that the well has dried up all of their glaring issues are as visible as a deer getting hit by a car. The defense is atrocious and as a team they are really slow skaters. They need to completely rebuild.
My husband has been a Ranger fan since ‘78. He used to tape record the games on tv. He also recorded Phil Esposito’s last game. (Audio only). He’s never seen them collapse so fast, it’s history making.
Good. Enjoy yourselves. You deserve it. Rangers deserve all the disrespect this year. I'm so ashamed to root for this team. I wish I could switch teams but I have Ranger DNA, sadly. I was one of those fans who was hoping the Devils would be stupid and pick Kappo Kakko that year instead of Hughes. I wanted the center Hughes. Oh, well.
Congratulations! Considering 95% of Devils fans become Devils fans because they hate the Rangers. For why else would anyone become a Devils fan. Last nights game must have been more exciting than if the Devils won the Stanley Cup this year. For 95% of Devils fans hate the Rangers, much more than they love the Devils. I’m just glad I’m not like any of you.
Trouba had to be made captain in large part because Cryder didn't want it. Everyone knew it would be short lived as his contract would eventually have to be moved. The lack of foresight is astounding.
Mika is the common denominator to the rot on the Rangers. Mika was the common denominator last year when the team struggled at 5 on 5 and against teams that were good a grinding. The dude only shines when the game is wide open -- hence his performance on Power plays. Mika's contract is an anchor though that will sink this organization for 5 years.
Great idea healthy-scratching Kreider. If that was just to send a "message" it really worked. They went 0-for-4 on the power play and lost 5-0. Now it feels like they either have to trade Kreider or fire Laviolette as Drury's scapegoat LOL /popcorn
Sure, but even if Dolan can stomach a full rebuild (which he can't), what makes you think Drury can rebuild this team correctly? He was given a Cup-contending roster by his predecessor and he has done nothing to improve it. Now he's just trashing it. And everyone who leaves will tell their teammates about how Dolan and Drury run the organization. And that will cost the Rangers when it comes to signing FA's, which they will depend on to remain competitive.
Is this really a Kreider bashing video? Mika is a way bigger issue than Kreider.... Drury is a bigger issue than Kreider, Laviolette is a bigger issue than Kreider.
Which is why they're going to trade Kreider. Possible Kreider trade destinations: To the Ducks for Trouba To Buffalo for an actual Buffalo To Utah with the team name "Rangers" for the name "Hockey Club"
Rangers will be fine, no rebuild is required. Next season after the deadwood is removed from the team between now an then, in addition to a few UFA signings and Gabe Perreault being in the running for rookie of the year, no full rebuild will be required.
Maybe but Druy has a job to do and he tried to address the weaknesses. Now the team is basically acting like a bunch of terrorists. Is a GM just supposed to not trade anyone because the players might get pissy and quit?
@@chris2ferUtoobDrury's "job" is not to circumvent the spirit of the collective bargaining agreement, which he clearly did with Goodrow, and threatened to do to Trouba. Why would anyone trade away money for a 15 team no trade clause when the team can just goodrow you and you wind up at a team on your list anyway?
@@michaels7134 There's a big difference between trading a player and waiving a player. The team that waives a player gets nothing in return when another team claims him. So take a player whose seniority and performance once merited giving him a limited NTC (which Goodrow and Trouba had). A team will only waive that player in rare circumstances: when that player's performance has fallen so far that it actually makes sense to give that player up for nothing in return. That is what Drury did with Goodrow. Drury couldn't justify paying him $3.5MM and couldn't trade him to any of the 16 teams not on his list, so he did the only thing he could do to shed the cap space and waived him. San Jose claimed him, but the Rangers still lost him for nothing. With Trouba, Drury told him they were going to waive him, and Trouba knew they would do so, and it made more sense to him (and the Rangers too) to accept the trade to Anaheim (bc that avoids him getting claimed by any random team or not getting claimed and sent to Hartford). The notion that using waivers to move players like Goodrow and Trouba is underhanded is simply not true. The limited NTC protects a player from a trade. But if his performance has fallen so far that his team would consider waiving him for nothing (and cannot trade him for something), then he's SOL. That's what the CBA and the players' contracts provided for. The players knew this when the CBA was completed and when they signed their contracts. This isn't a tiny technical loophole that some nerd managed to discover one day. It's the agreement that was reached between players and management.
The NYR's don't need to make foolish trades or bench their best players. They need to clean house and fire coach Peter Laviolette & GM Chris Drury. The downward spiral started when Drury ran Capitan Jacob Trouba out of NYC.
Mika and Chris collectively quit because the mean man Gm traded their friends. When we talk about legacy, THIS needs to be discussed first and follow both of these yellow bellies wherever they end up. You can score 600 goals but if you become a disgrace in the process, who is impressed?
The end happened last year before the playoffs ended for the rangers bub. Mika realized he lost his breakaway speed and reflexes after all these years of being a horse. His wife made a comment to a friend he no longer wants to play hockey but rather be home raising his family. The last 3 weeks bettors have made a staggering amount of money realizing the rangers were throwing games. Surprised nhl has nothing to say. 2 friends made over 250k betting against rangers. Get in while you can
Kreider's whole career is a wasted opportunity, he has the size, speed and strength to be a Mark Messier or Ovechkin kind of generational talent, but he apparently decided he's just going to stand next to the net and try to get tip in goals, very unfortunate waste of talent.
What a dumpster fire. Funnily enough, if they can get it together soon, they'll probably still make the playoffs. I have to admit I did enjoy seeing that 5-0 loss to the Devils last night.
Chris Dreary is the root cause of the failure, he sided with the entitled underachieving quitters that are the "core" of this team and made coach Gallant the scapegoat instead of dealing with the real issues. This year he demoralized the entire team without fixing any of the issues that are still lingering. Dreary is a pretender and should be the next personnel move by Dolan.
LOLOLOLOL oh is that whats happening? You sure its not because their core players are deep into their 30's and have been over performing the last 2 seasons?!?!?! Joke franchise, joke fan base. The race to the draft lottery is gonna be wild...
Cannot believe how far the Rangers have fallen
Really? This was a team mutiny. They’re committed to folding.
What cant you believe about it? Their fans cheered when the Devils picked Hughes. You can't rebound from that kind of cluelessness.
They overachieved for a couple years and the tank ran dry. They were never as good as the last two seasons made people believe.
@@chris2ferUtoob I suppose that's true.
