As a wolves fan, I dreamed of Shannon in the draft. Never thought it was remotely possible. Thought surely the kings would take him at 13 or bucks at 17. I was roaring like a lion when he was available at 27 freaking out at home. I just cannot believe it still. We are so lucky to have him on the team! Really believe he’s a future all star. Through 2 games summer league he’s clearly the best player in the draft! Supremely god gifted athlete TSJ is

I wish things would have worked out in Phoenix came to Illinois... I have a feeling it's going to be killing us over the next couple of years?!?! Lol Gill family it's amazing.

Did Illinois show any interest in Phoenix?

Yeah, in the beginning. I think they kind of cooled on him. He’s not really the caliber player Brad is going for now.

He's a good athlete but he wouldn't start on an illini team at the moment. He probably wouldn't even get valuable playing time. But he's a great addition for northwestern!
