I'm a guy. I've seen this movie 20 times. I cry every time I watch it.
Bruce was an amazing actor. It’s so sad what he is going thru. Praying for him as well as his family always.
The Russian cosmonaut was played by Peter Stormare. He was actually born in Swedish in 1953 (he's 70 now), but he moved to New York City in 1993. His accent has allowed him to play a lot of Eastern European/Russian roles.

The opening male voice is truly, the beginning of big time Hollywood action movies, and possibly the king of Hollywood royalty, Charlton Heston!

Excellent film to close out the year. One of Michael bay’s best and one of my favorites. Excellent cast and story and soundtrack. The closing song in the credits really sets the tone too.
Its defiantly Michael Bay at his best although 13 Hours is my personal favorite
Seriously, the music in this movie.. As in the beautiful orchestral pieces throughout it's entirety is to me one of the absolute greatest movie scores of all time.!!!
For me Liv Tyler's performance was the most moving, but the whole movie was good.
The setting for Harry & Grace's last time together was the test stand of the Apollo 1 fire, where all three men lost their lives. You can see the dedication plaque for just a moment at the end of the scene.
NASA preserved that test stand in memoriam of the three men.
Heartwarming fact: Steven Tyler lead singer from Aerosmith was originally against the band doing a song for this movie cuz he thought the band would lose fans with a "sappy ballad" but after a pre-screening he was so moved by his daughter Liv's acting that he was more than happy to do a song & so was the rest of the band
And the song debuted at #1 and was (and still is) their biggest hit

Watching your reaction Emma, and crying along with you, me looking at Bruce Willys' face and reminding him of the situation he's going through right now, makes me really very sad, because the heroes we grew up watching me, now 37 years old, are retiring. I wish from the bottom of my heart a happy new year to everyone on this channel, may this year be a reflection of joy, health and many achievements, and may we have a year full of reacts!

I love this movie. A great adventure, a wonderful mix of drama, action, and humor. Sure, the science is a bit wonky, but the movie is just so darned entertaining, has such a great cast, and does such a good job of hitting all of the right emotional notes.

As mentioned the "russian" is a swedish actor called Peter Stormare. He has done a few hollywood movies. I recommend Minority Report with Tom Cruise, Stormare has a small part in thar too.

He also ROCKED the roll of the Devil in the movie "Constantine". In fact, I have yet to see him in a roll where he's been anything less than extraordinary.
Greaaaaaaaat movie. My favorite actors and my favorite band with good songs (Aerosmith). Grace in this movie is his daughter (Liv Tyler), also played in The Lord of thr Rings (Arwen Undomiel). And don't be ashamed to cry, I did too. The special effects are realy good. The whole movie got you on the edge of your seat.
Another great Bruce Willis movie that no one seems to mention is Teardrops Of The Sun. One of my favorite BW movies

He was in John Wick 2 (I guess)... he was in "Constantine" and he was in "Minority Report"...
What a reaction! Haven't seen this in years and I'm so happy people are still enjoying it. If you would like more asteroid movies I suggest Deep Impact. It was released the same year as this and often overlooked.
You don't feel speed if it's constant. But their slingshot around the moon was an acceleration pushing them to 9G (9 times normal gravity). You normally black out between 4 and 6Gs
The opening narration was by the legendary Charlton Heston, one of the most iconic actors of all time.
This is a fantastic movie. A definite tear jerker. Great reaction.

This movie had its competition in the same year, another movie of the same theme called Deep Impact, that difference of this one was more dramatic, there were no jokes, and it didn't have so much action, except in the last part at the moment of the asteroid. But it's worth your time to watch it and compare and say which one you thought was better.

Fun Fact: Grace as you know is played by Liv Tyler, I don't know if you know this part tho, she is the real life daughter of Steven Tyler the lead singer of Aerosmith, when he got to see pre-screening of some of her scenes he was moved so much he wrote that song that plays during the end credits when the montage of wedding clips is happening.

Yes this movie is suprisingly emotionally moving. I cry multiple times every time I see it. This movie also has many silly moments. However I don't trust anyone that could watch it and not cry atleast once. They would need to be heartless.
36:42 What they are feeling is the acceleration as they're burning their thrusters while using the moon's gravity. If you've been on a plane, it's basically the moment of take off, when you're pushed back in your seat, but massively more powerful in their case. In space there is no air to cause turbulence, but you'd still feel the acceleration as normal, and engine vibrations would still travel through the hull.
Now, watch Bruce Willis again in Die Hard 2.

back in 1998 they told that there is no disaster movies during flights! i watch that on a flight to the US.. among the other movies
and of course during the turbulances in the movie we had terrible ones in the flight .. I find it intresting .. some ladies found it terrible scary

This movie was like a live action cartoon. Deep Impact was the more intelligent of the 2 Earth collision movies made.
Yeah but it didn't have the same weight 'emotionally'. Deep Impact was more grounded but in the end, it was just another disaster movie like Twister.
