Get that sound together a bit more during drills, find someone to innovate some unique drill techniques and formations, and you've got something there. Find your identity, and PERFECT it..... I expect GREAT things grom this program in the future.

I am a NSU Spartan Legion alumni and I have a few things to mention. DEGA is a young band coming up trying to make their presence felt in a house full of juggernaut band programs. Something kid like. No doubt about it they can blow with the best of them but they have a long long way to go to be considered a top notch program. Historically FAMU, JSU and SU have always been the bands other bands measure their success by. However bands like A&T, TENN ST, and NORFOLK ST are programs that dare challenge the status quo and quiet well I might add. So to all the BCU's the SCSU's and any other band that considers themselves a force to be reckoned with( No offense HAMPTON MARCHING FORCE it's all love) know that we are all HBCU Marching Bands . That's why Honda is a Showcase not a competition. All bands have the right to come to ATLANTA and show the world what they have to offer. Some are beyond great( Spartan Legion 2007-2008, North Carolina A& T 2015, Bethune 2004) and I'm sure I could mention a few more with solid performances (VA ST Trojan Explosion).TALLADEGA MARCHING TORNADO BAND you are good enough to be considered entertaining. Well I have one question WHAT HAPPEN HERE? I was there. I think on any given day a band can be GREAT. I saw the footage from that and they were good and I would give the edge to TC. But as a overall Band and to include sound, arrangements and execution IT'S SOUTHERN. I don't care how big the band it's the whole package that counts. And that's with any band.

I see a few things that need refinement, yes. They do have some kinks to work out and some of what they do is reminiscent of southern, but they are working on their identity and have come up in such a short amount of time. I'm impressed. They didnt get to the Honda by luck. Enough people wanted to see them there that they were voted in and accepted as finalists. Let them be great.

I blame the staff for all the heat this band takes. I understand the Director is a SU alum. But what I don't understand is the lack of imagination. If I'm over a NEW program I want to go out and establish MY program. You can CREATE SOMETHING NEVER SEEN BEFORE!! You went out and bought the SAME uniforms Southern Univ has, do the SAME DRILLS and have the nerve to wanna be taken serious. You can get as big a famu and blow until your head explodes. Who cares? You have a blank slate!!!! No rules or obligations or football games!! A directors dream situation. CREATE SOMETHING!!
The show was pretty bad honestly but for a 3 year program it's decent even with most of the band members already being part of another HBCU band . I really don't think they deserved to be at the Honda YET , but maybe in years to come
As far as this show, lines were off, holes were in formations, sound diminished while drilling.... I honestly lost excitement after Family Guy (You guys DID beast that song, though). You have to keep that energy flowing with some creativity.

For starters, their concert formation and how they transition to dance block. I'll stop there because honestly their is no reason to continue. My funniest comment from this show is when the announcer stated "Ladies and Gentleman we made it to the 50 yard line (for 98% of other bands in attendance, this would of never been stated). I guess he was praising the accomplishment given that earlier in the season they performed a show and didn't make to the 50 yard line (LMAO)... The DEGA had the worst show of the night, and hands down no one else deserves 8th place more than "THE DEGA."
No offense to TC, but you can pull up a Southern Field show from the mid to late 90's and maybe early 2000 time frame and see this field show. And then look at SU 60 step a min. drill you see DEGA do this. I hope you don't think they made that up...LOL I'll put it like this: Nobody hatein on TC they just find the band funny. They step to SU all the time and say they nothing, but copy everything they do. It's like watchin that movie Bring it on... and SU watching themselves along with the rest of America. other Schools have SU alum and I don't see them copy SU!

PPL alwasys got something to say about a band that's making a name for themselves. TC has only had a band since 2012, cut them a break. HBCU that have had band way longer than TC didn't get invited over them. People all over voted for the top 8 bands that they thought were the best for battle of the bands and they picked TC and 7 others out of all other bands, show some respect.

LIES YOU TELL.....LOL..... Please tell me where I can find a film of SU marching and doing the same thing as FAMU. SU has never did a field show that makes everyone say They Look LIKE FAMU. But on the other hand you can't say that here can you. You can pull a SU field show up from the 90's and see this. People just want to see them develop their own style.
In their field show SU plays their version cadence we call Solos that quick marching style that looks like running is what we call rattling if you learn the history of the 100 you would know
Hey bro, I am a DIE-HARD SU fan. There use to be a HBCU football magazine out that previews the upcoming season. There was an article that highlighted the Jukebox and Dr.Greggs. He went over some of the history of the band as well as their style. He did state that HE got the quick step marching from FAMU. I had an argument with a Juke alum some years ago that said I was lying.
They really need to work on writing better music arrangements. The dance routine arrangements sounded hideous. Please listen to the dance routine arrangements. The music was a hot mess. It sounded worse in person.

LIES YOU TELL.....LOL..... Please tell me where I can find a film of SU marching and doing the same thing as FAMU. SU has never did a field show that makes everyone say They Look LIKE FAMU. But on the other hand you can't say that here can you. You can pull a SU field show up from the 90's and see this. People just want to see them develop their own style.
In their field show SU plays their version cadence we call Solos that quick marching style that looks like running is what we call rattling if you learn the history of the 100 you would know

Hey bro, I am a DIE-HARD SU fan. There use to be a HBCU football magazine out that previews the upcoming season. There was an article that highlighted the Jukebox and Dr.Greggs. He went over some of the history of the band as well as their style. He did state that HE got the quick step marching from FAMU. I had an argument with a Juke alum some years ago that said I was lying.

They really need to work on writing better music arrangements. The dance routine arrangements sounded hideous. Please listen to the dance routine arrangements. The music was a hot mess. It sounded worse in person.
