    Lucy you’re so inspiring. You’re just a real person with a real journey just like me. I am starting my running journey. I ran today for 3 minutes straight, walked a bit, and ran for another 3 minutes! which is something I’ve never done before! It’s so exciting to improve!

      Thank you so much! When I first started I could only dream about running 3 minutes straight so you’re doing amazing already!! Well done 👏🏻 Remember to celebrate everything, no matter how small! It really is so exciting 🙌🏼

    thank you Lucy! I came back to this video since I am recovering myself right now. I wanted to say: you have no idea what this means to me right now, but listening to the video I think you do. I finally lost the 10kg I gained (lying around in bed after injury and stupidly compensating with sweets), I ran 2 x 15 min today and walked additionaly 30 and I * promised* myself to be back on the trail in may which is 1 week away right now. No matter how "stupid" i look 😉

    Thank you for this video and for all the others before it! As an overweight person, I started my walking to running journey a month ago and every day that I don't want to do it, I think of you and all of the encouragement from your videos. Please continue to share your real, authentic journey, it has helped me so much.

    Oh my goodness! You took the words right out of my mouth when talking about thinking you're back where you were even when you haven't ran in forever. In December I ran a marathon so now I feel like I can just run a marathon, even tho I haven't ran in like 2 months. 😑 I have a 5k this morning which will be a REAL wake up call to where I actually am! Love your videos 💞

    I can totally relate. Also, I needed this because I'm coming back after a break from running and my head's like "2 miles, that's it, that will be easy" and my body's like, "uh no." Glad to see I'm not the only one who goes through this.

    • @lucyshawvlogs
      @lucyshawvlogs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes this is exactly what I struggled with 🙌🏼 I can now say that I got passed this stage and pushed through that struggle quicker then I thought I would. Someone told me it would come back after a few runs and I didn’t believe them…..but it did 😀 Keep going and you will get back to where you was 🏃🏻‍♀️

    Great job getting back out there! It can be demoralising comparing yourself to anyone, even yourself from however long ago. The most important thing is that you enjoy what you do, and just aim to make 1% improvements consistently. You've run a marathon before and you'll do it again, it doesn't matter when, just keep going one mile at a time and it will come 👍

    Good to see you back vlogging! No matter the weight gain, I think your spirit is looking good! I know how you feel getting injured and losing your consistency and gaining weight back on. Happened to me too, was out of running for several months and gained about 8kg and had to start all over from a fitness point of view. I was really sad about it, but I was able to turn it around using the sort of humble self kindness mindset you shared in your ten tips video, and now I’m back and beyond where I previously was, weight and fitness wise. The path one walks in life is never as straight as our minds wish they were, but if you just accept and embrace that and let things take the time they actually need, it all flows pretty effortlessly in the end! I really recommend getting into cycling as a compliment to running for the fun of variation and the much lower injury risk. Doing social group rides indoors on zwift when the weathers bad and mood is low is a real life saver, if you can afford a setup for it. Also using your garmin and my fitness pal to track your in/out calories can be really helpful, if you haven’t already tried it. Just keep dreaming of where you want to be and believe in yourself and you’ll move towards it “progress not perfection” style! 🙌

    • @lucyshawvlogs
      @lucyshawvlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You must know exactly how I feel!! I absolutely love this comment. Thank you for the great tips 🙌🏼 My husband uses Zwift so maybe I could jump on his account 🤔

      @@lucyshawvlogs happy to hear it! Oh, for sure you could. I tried explaining it in detail but youtubes spam filter deleted my comment 😅 I'm sure your husband can tell you how it works and what numbers to change to participate fairly, and how to do group rides. Just don't forget bib shorts and I'm sure you'll love it if you just allow some time to get into it!

    I'm a very very new runner. I actually lost my weight before I started running (I'm down from 262 lbs to 134 lbs!) because I didn't even think it was something I could have tried to do before. I am really looking forward to improving. I ran a mile in about 12.5 minutes. Which I guess is considered very slow but I'm so proud that I did it without stopping/walking. And it wasn't TOO bad haha. Awesome to see you getting back to something you love!!
