It's amazing to see how many people are learning to paint solely from the internet, especially from all of the talented artist/teachers that take the time, energy and money to share these tutorials with all of us. no matter whether you are starting your first painting or have been painting for a lifetime, it is fascinating to see how other people render their paintings, what tools they use and how they use them. You can always learn something new! Thanks!

I think you are beautiful, your art work is beautiful and you do an amazing job of teaching. I took two classes earlier this month, at a local craft store. I was stressed out the entire time. Last Saturday I painted "Silent Night" through your step by step. It took me 9 hours, but it's a beauty and I love it more than the other two. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your God given talent. I will continue to look for more. I am going to attempt the "white rose" and the "Polka dot an pansy" in the next few weekends. I am so over the moon I found you. Thank you!!

Wonderful presentation, and beautiful composition. You explain so very well, I agree with Ned, your one of the best teachers. Luv.your work and style, thank you for these lessons. You have inspired me to paint flowers. I would love to see a Lilly pad lesson, even you put it on DVD, or a download. I know it takes alot of time uploading the vids to TH-cam, and I thank you for taking the time. Happy New Year Marion, your a wonderful teacher. I have been sharing your vids on twitter. I have a senior group that loves to paint, and I referred your channel ,they all painted the snow scene before xmas. They are watching and learning to paint your other lessons as well. Painting is great therapy, moreover for ones who are not able to attend classes. It's wonderful that you explain so well, and share your works, and they can learn to paint in the comfort of their home, and group setting.

I painted along with your 'silent night' and so far (only my fourth painting at the time)it's by far my best effort. My canvas is set up as we speak and I'm going to give this one a shot. Also, you can mix 50/50 Indian.yellow and crimson, maybe a bit more of yellow due to the crimson is.so much stronger, and paint it on after the linseed as a transparent color, and apply white on top to.bring out the orange...made with indian yellow and crimson. It works well...just an fyi

But can you tell your cameraman to show your paint strokes more? He (or she) always seems to pull away when you apply certain strokes making it hard for us beginners to see your motions. Same with silent night. Thank you so much for the videos and i hope you add many more.

These videos go beyond Bob Ross by providing more detail. Bob did what he could in a half hour and he was very good at it. Marion has more time available. This allows her to go into more detail. She has done so in this video as well as Silent Night, a snowy night time scene. There is more brush stroke and color detail provided in this episode. The only suggestion is to paint your knife flat black like Bob Ross did in order to keep it from reflecting light.
Along with the instruction comes the pleasantness of presentation. A very soothing voice along with a wonderful English accent makes for a desirable delivery. She is also a very beautiful woman to look at.
I'm Subscribing and anxiously waiting for the next video. I hope someday she tours the US and stops in Colorado for some inspiration on scenery. I will surely show her some of the best places.

Marion, found your video by accident. I was watching a video by Jason Morgan when I heard your audio in the background. I must have clicked on your link by accident. I let his video complete and then closed his video and was able to see yours. Reset to the beginning and enjoyed every minute of this. I have watched Bill Alexander and Bob Ross many years ago. I appreciated watching you work and produce the painting you developed. You have used those wet on wet techniques, but have perfected a way to produce a panting that is very strong. Thank you for sharing this with us. :)

I’m not saying that you’re a better painter than anybody else, because you’re all amazing painters but your tutorial is so detailed. Not just the colour palate and the brushes but the way that you load and use the brushes. Everything you say has a purpose, and for me that is absolutely great because I am very much a beginner when it comes to technique etc. So once again thank you very much

    Very beautifull and amazing. !!!!
Whether you know, that paints will become transparent in 70-100 of years. Then a black background will close everything. This physico-chemical fact. Upper opaque paint will be transparent. And black background bowels out. Great artist Velazquez has a picture where the horse has 8 legs.

I for one have to say that your painting is almost as beautiful as your manner, tone, & smile! A lovely composition! You capture the "mood" very well! I'm in Virginia where we occasionally have sunsets that look just like that! I'm no expert, but I think I hear Manchester in your voice... Are you local, or do you work abroad?

That a Lady as beautiful as you are also Master in the Art of Painting is Wonderful! If you ever read this comment, I ask you please, if you have a tutorial on how to paint a Marina (a landscape with the sea as a protagonist), I would appreciate it if you share it, because you explain so clearly and precisely , that many, among which I include myself, would see their expectations fulfilled. Thank you for sharing and may God bless you!

I only just discovered your channel last night. This is absolutely breathtaking! I have only started learning how to paint. I took three monthly Bob Ross classes locally. Sadly the instructor didn't really know how to teach so after the 3rd very expensive class that turned into a total disaster for all the students, I didn't sign up for a 4th. Come to find out, the instructor hasn't been back! Anyway, I love this painting and hope that my very new skills will be enough to get me through this beautiful landscape! What brand of brushes do you use? My one inch brush bristles are not thick enough. What brand of paint do you use?

Also, you can mix 50/50 Indian.yellow and crimson, maybe a bit more of yellow due to the crimson is.so much stronger, and paint it on after the linseed as a transparent color, and apply white on top to.bring out the orange...made with indian yellow and crimson. It works well...just an fyi

Maz this is Barb. YT showed me this vid and I think you are very very good and I wish to learn from you. I have been very sick and now returning to painting. Sadly oils no matter what type can make me sick so I am trying to find a brand that can do wet in wet that don't make me sick. So far even the water based one's can.At least the Artisan brand does. Not as bad though. Any advice no natural paints that has no driers in them. That stuff makes me sick the worst.
I watch your vids as I got to sleep at night to remind me on the painting stuff and to improve my work. Thank you for doing these videos. So many charge and arm and a leg for them.

I just found you and all I can say is WOW! I’m a rank beginner with 8 or so wet on wet paintings under my belt and will definitely be checking out more of your beautiful tutorials!
I had one question…you used cad orange for this and I have just the basic Bob Ross that he used. How would I get an equivalent color or is it necessary to use the cad orange for this gorgeous painting?
Thanks again for the detailed instructions and your lovely calm way of guiding us through the process!! I truly appreciate your gift and time to help us all!! 😃❤️

Hi there glad you enjoyed it. I’m pretty sure you’d get away with the BR orange their paints are lovely quality so I’m sure you’ll be fine. Give it a go and come and share on the MazArt tribe on Facebook when you’ve done (for mazart paintings only so you’ll need to apply to join but it’s a fab group). ☺️

Can you write the name of the brushes you used in the painting here please? I fing myself struggling with the things I want to create in my own paintings only because I don't work with the right brushes... Thank you very much!

You taught great techniques but I am not convinced with the orange on the island. the light is coming from behind and orange throws it off. you just put lines of orange and does not looks realistic. The rest was excellent. I love the reflection on the water and the sky

Great painting and tutorial. I messed up a painting and I want to paint the canvas black to use for a new painting, so that I'm not wasting the canvas. Do you think that will work? I use acrylics.
