Ohmura said "We'd like to dedicate this song to Fujioka san who still lives in our heart" in Japanese. This is the first tribute concert of Fujioka and they still make events and concerts every year to support Fujioka family.

I will take the liberty of posting Flugelhorn Old Man's comments here (I hope he won't be offended).
It reminds me of comments by a guitarist who is one of best friends of Miko. He talked in a radio program something like "In Mikio's funeral, I saw girls from BABYMETAL sitting close to Mikio's coffin. The tallest girl kept quiet taking care of other two crying little girls. Her silent but sorrowful look was very impressive. She stayed until the very end of the ceremony"

They released an album to help Mikio's family.
If you search for MLG Avengers, you should find it. Keasler Japan / Viper Express / My Little God.
That is in fact Mikio's Guitar. There's also a tribute to Mikio from Boh's band "Kari Band".. called "I see you". He said he didn't dare add a guitar part and left it for Mikio to do.

Other guitarist was Mikio. Tribute performed on Awaji Island (where Mikio was from) in western Japan Jan. 19 (Mikio's birthday), 2019. Several other artists/bands played. Raised funds for Mikio's bereaved wife, two daughters. He was an amateur astronomer, fell off a platform while stargazing Dec. 30, 2017, died with his family at his side Jan. 5, 2018, and his wife announced his death on Jan. 9. Quite a few musicians attended a service for him, including Akane and Kanami of Band-Maid and Midori of Lovebites.
Following are Akane's and Kanami's tributes to Mikio, translated from the original:
Akane - "A soul-healing super-guitarist who had a beautiful smile and treated me so kindly every time I met him, that was you, Mr. Fujioka. I want to be like you, a wonderful musician full of love. The goals and dreams that Kanami and I told you we have, I promise you we will achieve them. I am so deeply grateful to have met you, Mr. Fujioka. I pray for the happy repose of your soul."
Kanami - "Kind-hearted, cute-smiling Mr. Fujioka, I was able to say a final good-bye to you. I will never forget you. As poor a guitarist as I am, allow me to keep you in my mind and heart while I am playing. Thank you for the greatest music. I pray for the happy repose of your soul." (The last sentence is a formal, respectful expression of condolence in the original Japanese.)

At the 10:24 starts Harmony X. I love when Mikio is playing it, best if he starts it with Amazing Grace. It always tears me up.

I didn't notice it either until you pointed it out! If I can find my original, I'll fix it, if not, a new one will be made! LOL Thanks for pointing it out, and I really do mean that! LOL!

Second guitar was Mikkio on a backing track .
You're right it was Mikkios guitar that Takayoshi was playing. The guitar was gifted to him by Mikkios widow.
On some occasions, the guitar would sit near the stage at shows , with a cigarette stuck to the end , just in case the " little God " , wanted to come down for a smoke.
A great guitarist who was taken from us far too soon.

  • @Grington300
    @Grington300 ปีที่แล้ว +14

So emotional - and yes you got what had happened towards the end with Mikio on backing track and images of him playing this superimposed - and Takayoshi also playing on Mikio's guitar which was gifted to him by Mikio's wife. He still takes it to play at BABYMETAL concerts.

  • @jamesmcclung153

The other guitar was Mikio's parts on backing track. And yea, Ohmura was using Mikio's ESP Red Snapper. That first bent note that BOH plays gets me everytime.

  • @CHRISCONTEPSS

Another note about Mikio's guitar. Takyoshi-san did an interview and showed he keeps one of Mikio's favorite brand cigarettes taped to the back of the head stock. . .and in the back under the spring coils is a letter to Mikio from his daughter. He said he keeps it with him (particularly at Babymetal shows) in order to entice Mikio's spirit to come and play with them. Truly a special relationship between the two "A team" guitarists. All of the Kami's are great players. . and all sound terrific. . . but there is just something special when Mikio and Omuhra played the harmony parts together. I think they knew each other so so well, they even synchronize the width of vibrato. . Takyohshi also spoke lovingly of how his friend would often pound on his door first thing in the morning on tour and make him wake up to go play together. . .no wonder they sounded so incredible together.
    We miss you smiling Kogami!
Mikio lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, students, bandmates, and musicians all over the world . . . .as well as he lives in the hearts of TheOne. 🤘🦊🤘
In addition to the benefit concerts to pay for Mikio's kids' educations . .etc. . . Mikio's parents apparently ran a produce store in a somewhat remote area. When the pandemic hit, they were unable to earn money thus in dire financial trouble. . . Takyoshi and some others quickly organized an online business where they could fill the orders and have them delivered. The first few orders came in from members of Band Maid and other artists all over Tokyo who continued to buy their food from Mikio's family throughout the quarentine. That is serious respect and kindness! The whole J-Rock scene is inspirational on a human level. Mad respect to all!

Ohmura is a very raw man. In a good way. A very pure talent. I've seen him play live on Mikio's guitar for a Babymetal show and he was very respectful to his guitar.
The yearly concert is a charity concert, the money goes to the wife and kids of Mikio.

excellent content GMoon-Metal, actually it was Mikio on the backing track with a super imposed image of him, and Taki was playing Mikio's pink-chan guitar which his wife gave to Taki, so it was a double Pink-chan attack on guitars

Also, following Mikio's passing, both Takayoshi and Boh placed long Twitter posts telling stories of fond memories of MIkio. This was very rare and unprescedented. And hasn't happened again and the Kami's were soon being de-persionalized with silly masks.

Yah. . . I'm still mad a Koba about that. . . .the masks are VERY VERY disrespectful to the musicians that were the main appeal to roughly half of Babymetal's core fan base internationally. . . . And to add further insult. . the masks look cheap and uncomfortable!

In Japan, Mikio was more well known as a guitar educator rather than as part of the Kami band. That's why there was so much grief at his passing. He helped teach an entire generation of guitar players.

He took the guitar with him on the ensuing european tour and payed hommage (in his own modest way) to Mikio. That tour was rough. Not only the loss of Miko but also fans were pretty pissed when they found out Yui wasn't going to be with them. (this was in the US, I think).

  • @road-runner
    @road-runner ปีที่แล้ว +9

Really special one, thank you so much for this.
Yes, that was Mikio's guitar, an ESP Snapper 7 Fujioka custom nicknamed Burgundy-tan. Ohmura still uses it on concerts (with or without BABYMETAL).
One "argument" given by haters is that BABYMETAL uses "hired musicians" which are not a "real band" and nonsenses like that. I just want to show them the end of this video. No, they are not a band, they are family! Now I'm going to a corner to cry.
    RIP Ko-Gami.

Mikio's guitar was used at the Makuhari concert the other day, ISAO was playing and Omuro was playing his usual lame pink guitar called Pink-chan.😂
In other words, Mikio is always with Babymetal!
