In my opinion, this might be one of the best albums ever made. I also enjoyed a lot your reaction as I recalled what I felt the first time I listened to it. I loved your insight on the beach, it's one of my fave songs. Wolf Alice is such a great band, all of their records are flawless. It also amazes me how they also made a film out of the whole album, it's such an experience that I just got the craving of reliving it now, after watching this, soooo thnx.
Oh my gosh!! I never expected you to react to them but this is such a pleasant surprise! I love this band and album so much, they make SUCH good music.
This album just did something to me when I first heard it. It woke me up and I loved it from start to finish. I haven't felt a connection like this with an album for awhile so this was such a pleasant surprise when I came across it.
For "How can I make it OK" - it's like the desperation of trying to help that person, asking more intently as you go on and they are not responding,.. is also sounded in the gradual ramping up of volume and intensity,... Totally love your reactions and I am finding that you and I share a very similar taste in music! Love it!
this was my favorite album from last year! so glad you’re reacting to it😊. This is their dreamier record, past ones have leaned more on rock, they get dreamier with each album. I think you’d also enjoy their previous one “Visions of a Life”, which won the Mercury Prize
I was just on my usual 3am Wolf Alice TH-cam rabbit hole when I found this video. I was going to comment a few times throughout but thought I’d save it for the end. Firstly, I absolutely loved watching this. WA are my favourite band and it just brings me so much joy to see someone experience- and enjoy - the same thing that I do. The analysis was so fun to listen to, you nailed the album and tone and the intricacies of the pacing and dynamics. You vibed throughout and sang along, honestly it made me so happy watching this. On Feeling Myself, I always describe that song as pure euphoria. I think Ellie is exceptional at capturing an emotion or feeling in a song. Feeling Myself *is* euphoria. On their second album, Visions of a Life (please do a video for that too!) she has Sky Musings, which *is* anxiety. She has Yuk Foo, which *is* rage. Yeah, just really good stuff. Thank you, only a couple of hours into the day and you’ve already made it. Also if you’re ever looking for another amazing album, Valentine by Snail Mail is another favourite. Per the start of this video, I’ll drop a quick cw: alcohol, drug abuse themes. It’s another break up album lol. Okay thanks again and hope you’re doing good, much love :)
Wolf Alice are my favorite band and Blue Weekend is such a gorgeous, melodic departure for them-and I already love the punkier energy of their first two records, which I'd highly recommend! Ellie Rowsell quite simply has one of the best voices I've ever heard, and my favorite track always changes depending on new things I notice in her vocals. I cry over their Pool Sessions performance of How Can I Make It OK? all the time lol
Fern I'm so happy that you're getting your life on track love you keep rocking and being yourself!! Edit: ngl this is my favorite hair from you I think there's just something about healing and beautiful hairstyles that's just connected hehe
my fav album from 2021! thanks for your reaction, did you know that the vocalist was vocally by lana in ultraviolence era? she said about it in a interview
I've been trackin this band since 2014, they have 10 years now, each day better than the previous!! Hey Fern be kind to yourself and watch that live gig I recommended, there's the link, your move now
Yep the second theme Delicious Things is fantastic, great lyrics......" I won't say no I'll give it a go" Ellie has a beautiful voice and they work out very interesting and beautiful sounding choirs. Ok enough chatting wanna see what oyu have to say have a great weekend
I totally understand the yawning thing, it hits me at the most inconvenient time. Anyway wow Fern what an incredible story huh? Ellie is a lovely song writer, indeed. So what are you going to cover first? Feeling Myself? You know you want to!? Lol After all our talk about light, The Last Man On The Earth was especially lovely!? Just loved this! Stay strong Fern, we'll be here if your not. And remember to Smile.
Finally, it was about time.....Wolf Alice is absolutely awesome....Ellie Rowsell and Co are so freaking good better late than ever and Blue Weekend is a great album Txs so much for this Sweet Fern now you need to react to Chvrches and Nothing But Thieves two great bands, Chvrches from Scotland and Brit munsta band NBT just the way to go All the songs in Blue Weekend are great, I was just trying to figure ourt which is my fav but, I simply luvem all Good to see you again, mising your Aurora reactions, and Sigrid Raabe as well, Aurora's buddy is growing bigtime worlwide. Txs for the WA reax hava great weekend!
I hope you'll listen to HYD's new album Clearing! It has production by Sophie and A.G. Cook and it is probably my highlight for the year. Thank you for your energy xx
Fern do you have some recommendations for "sexy" songs like feeling myself that make you feel drunk like that cause I'm in desperate need for some lmao
gosh there really are so many but they are all a bit different I would say ! Feeling Myself had its own moment hahaha I would say Ball and Biscuit by The White Stripes.
A great album from 2021 worth checking out and reacting to is “The Turning Wheel” by SPELLLING. It's art pop (partially influenced by Kate Bush and Björk) and the singer has a great quirky voice that I think you'd find interesting. Also, loving your makeup and hair in this video. You look gorgeous.
Coming from a review I had to stop watching because they stopped through the song multiple times to talk I really appreciate you listened through. Nice review
Visions of a Life is beautiful too! Rockier with some absolutely incredible songs Planet Hunter in particular 👌
