Welcome to the Retro Tech Repair Shop, where we invite you to join us in our journey of investigating, repairing & playing with obsolete technology, games and nostalgic favourites of the past.
Did you have a favourite toy or piece of tech and always wondered how it worked? Do you want to learn how to repair stuff, maybe a beloved childhood toy that you would like to get working again? Kids always bringing you their broken items to fix. Maybe you want a stroll down memory lane? If so, you came to the right place!
We will be purchasing items from eBay that are listed as "for spares or repair" or "not working", to see if we can bring them back from the plight of impending landfill or recycling. Let us not allow these gems to be lost forever.
I am an electrical engineer who has accumulated some associated skills over the years and now would like to share my hobby with you.
I hope you find it interesting, informative and fun. Please subscribe and comment so we can fix stuff together.

How can you test old Motorola handheld radio that uses rechargeable battery. Without the battery? What do I use? Thanks

Remove the rechargeable battery and power from a variable DC bench power supply. The information plate on the radio should state the voltage and current requirement. The Internet should be able to tell you the polarity and connections required if its not marked on the unit. Hope that helps.
