Hi Yuma! :)
a very nice video vlog
I am going to Madrid this summer for a few days solo. How do figure out what you want to do. Do you ever feel nervous traveling alone? Do you have any tips?
Hi Elizabeth! I think that I’ve traveled alone enough now that it doesn’t make me feel nervous anymore, but I definitely understand the anxiety around it! In general, I do really like researching a place before I go. I find a lot of helpful information on TH-cam, just like this video haha, watching what other people have done. And then just your typical Google searches.. lonely Planet always has great recommendations too.
I usually create a custom Google Maps, and save all of the locations I want to check out while I’m there. When you start doing that, you will see certain areas are more concentrated than others, so I will just kind of like pick an area for the day and try to do the things on my list, but then also wonder around and try and find things locally as well.
As far as staying safe, I think the biggest thing for me is just to kind of be aware of where I am when the sun goes down. Make sure I have a plan to get back to my hostel, so like not wandering too far from it or transportation.. also I usually do research dangerous areas to avoid, but in a lot of these really touristy places, its usually totally fine because there are a lot of people around at all times of the day.
My biggest tip, if you’re feeling nervous, it’s just to be organized! When you feel lost or uncertain, that definitely makes being alone a lot scarier. And always have a portable phone charger with you too!! :)
@@samanthasaetang thank you so much!! I just discovered the Google maps trick and that’s been really nice to save things I want to see. Even knowing that other people are also solo traveling safely is helpful to know! Thank you for making these videos!
