- Today I embarked on a journey to the Hobo Railroad to see their Santa Train. Usually this would be hauled singlehandedly by SW1000 #1012 or with assistance by SW1001 #1590, but since this hasn't been done in two years, #1012 and Lincoln-based #105 hauled the trains. This is the first time two maroon engines have doubleheaded on the Hobo since 2013. I hope you enjoyed the video, consider subscribing!
My son thinks that all 4 of those RDC's should be restored to operation and run on the Hobo Railroad by themselves.
Great Video!
It's good to know I won't have to break any speed limits when I go out to chase this excursion in the future 😂
As long as the green bridge over the pemi river is open you’re safe. If it’s not, good luck…
To me, there’s never a dreary day when trains are involved
Great video!
I’d really like to see a video of 1186 running sometime, but from what I understand it barely ever runs anymore. Not that they have a third (fourth if you count the privately owned 1921) locomotive in Lincoln, do they have any intent on using it again?
From what I've heard #1186 was started and moved earlier this month. If I ever get word of it running I'll make sure to see it if I can!
According to the Hobo Railroad, it's a third backup source (105 as the main power, then from most to least primary; 1590; 958; 1186). They plan on keeping it around and hopefully it can make more runs. Thanks for watching!
1st time seeing Hobo Railroad! Switch engines have best vision running like this! Where does it run? Great scenery!
@@gratzmyers3242 it runs in Lincoln, New Hampshire. Glad you enjoyed!
Yea it barely ever ran since 958 took over. And even that’s gone now :(
Also I swear, it used to run so frequently yet it was always when there weren’t any railfans. >:(
