Thank you for watching as well. I have a feeling you will like it as much as I do hehehe. The fact that is not so big in size and fits in my backpack with the nanoVNA is amazing ))). 73

Bro Cyril, you did not measure the minimum capacitance of the variable capacitor because i have in my junk box with the maximum capacitance of 500 pF stamped on it but I don't know the minimum capacitance of it. I would atleast know that such VC has so and so minimum capacitance.

Ahh no worries. Let me check now and I let you know. I'll be back in a little.

Ok... measured it. Minimum capacity is 18pF. But that is only one side measured. It has two so they can be used in parallel if needed.

Thanks Bro. Cyril for reply my query. Honestly let me tell that I am not a ham operator (Old man) nor have appeared for any license in ham operating. In fact I am an ardent SWL (Shortwave listener) since 1977, the year we got our first Phillips radio (model RL517) at home. I used to listen BBC, Radio Australia, Radio Kuwait and the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, these qwr my favourite overseas radio stations. Now let's come to to main point of the 18 pF that was measured by you on your Kaiweet digital multimeter. I have screen shorted the picture of your variable capacitor and found out that it has 12 rotors and 13 stators, just like the one I have in my junk box. If we go by the my calculations theoretically, which is as follows: 500 pF ÷ 12 rotors equals to 41.66666 pF and respectively 500 pF ÷ 13 stators equals to 38.4615384615 pF. Please let me know if my calculations makes some sense. I think this reply is becoming lengthy 😊 and I do hope you will clear my doubts. In my next reply I will send you the data for making a variable capacitor of your needed capacitance. On the basis of that calculations I am getting the minimum capacitance. Until take good care of yourself.
      73 bye for now.
With much love from Mumbai India

@loverofthelostnarc Thanks so much Louis. Well to be honest... it's been a while since I spent time to do calculations on variable capacitor )). Yes is does makes sense what you calculated. But... no calculation can replace the multimeter. Doesn't matter the brand as long as it can measure capacitance. The reason why I don't spend time calculating... unless I just want to have a rough idea about the values... is because there are way too many variables. Some fins of the rotor can be closer or further from the ones of the stator... so for that reason the capacity is also different. Sometimes even the aluminum is made from can also influence the capacity... so we would never really be able to calculate too close to reality. Is like making a simulation in Elsie for a bandpass filter. On paper looks perfect... in reality when built... not so much ))). Sadly I do not have much time to spend and build capacitors... even if I would like to, but thanks so much for the offer. On the license... is nice having one so maybe one day you may want to get it. I also listened for 20 years... but it gets annoying at some point that you just listen but can't be part of the fun hehehe. Is nice talking to people over the radio. Anyway... back to work here. I hope you have an amazing rest of the week. 73

I like that feature. It saved me a lot of money so far that I would waste on batteries all the time. I could buy two more multimeters wit those money ))). But they also have versions with regular batteries. I can't remember now for sure but u think the 601 model has regular batteries.

@@danialtun5431 Ahhhh those yes cause the number of charges is a lot bigger. For this one... maybe once in two weeks, if I use is a lot. If I don't use it as often... two months later battery is still full.
