Yes it is Beautiful, I was there last week on C 131 I just love it ð!
Awesome feedback. Big Meadows Campground makes for a great basecamp to explore the entire park. Lou
Camped there when I was a kid. Looks the same. Lol
Beautiful sites.
Thanks very helpful! We stayed at Shenandoah River State Park and loved it, but would like to try this one next year.
The view from the overlook at Shenandoah River State Park was impressive. Some nice big rig friendly campsites with 50/30 amp electric there. Our video of that campground publishes soon. Lou
Beautiful sites and camp ground - thank you for sharing
Our pleasure! Lou
This is our next stop. Iâll be in C 125. We did have trouble finding an open spot big enough for Kevin and Dawnâs 5th wheel. Looks beautiful though. Getting excited! Thanks for sharing
Oh Lou, thank you so much for the video on Big Meadows campground. It looks the same as it did when I went camping there with my parents when I was a kid. There used to be a big map board, off the side of the Ranger (check in) station. We would always check it out to see if anyone we knew was camping the same time we were. I would say ,over half the sites you showed I HAVE stayed at. And alot of them I have stayed at, taking MY kids there! when we had our pop up camper. I remember riding up and down the hills and all over the campground on our bikes!! I even brought home a mouse, one time, that was trapped in one of the bathroom sinks next to site A97, that you showed. 'The "old section" with the pull thru sites we stayed at the most. My mom loved that area better than the new section. We used to camp there at least 2 to 3 weekends a month,, and some a week long stays too at Big Meadows. We hiked many times down to Dark Hallow Falls, across from Big Meadows and also Fishers Gap. We also hiked down to camp Hoover, or Rapidan Camp. (where President Hoover and wife had a cabin) In the Spring, my dad would plant watermellon seeds down at Fishers Gap from a watermellon we brought camping with us, then come back later on to see if they grew. They did, but we never got a mellon, cause the wildlife would always get to them before we had time to come back to them. lol We had alot of fun up there !!! Thank you so much! I enjoyed this video more than words can say.......vicky
Wow - you really did spend a lot of time in Shenandoah National Park.
We are definitely putting this one down on our list to checkout. It is close to one of children. Looks like a great place to host a meet up with the grand babies and give mom and dad a weekend off. Thank you for sharing. Mary ð Fred
Just make sure you approach from the direction whereby you will avoid the one low clearance tunnel along Skyline Drive. There is only one tunnel along Skyline Drive and it is low clearance (no height posted at the tunnel). Lou
@@LivingOurDreamNow â @LivingOurDreamNow that is great info to have. Thank you for sharing. ð
Thought about it until I saw you had to pay for a shower. Really???
