Coney Island Baby, also known as Goodbye My Coney Island Baby, the barbershop classic sung as a one man a cappella multitrack by Julien Neel (trudbol).
"Goodbye, My Coney Island Baby" is a popular barbershop classic song composed in 1924 by Les Applegate. It is often included in the repertoire of a barbershop quartet. The lyrics are not related to Coney Island directly, but are about a man abandoning his love (whom he apparently met at Coney Island) to avoid marriage, the drudgery of which is lamented in the middle section, often known separately as "We All Fall".
The song was featured in the Simpson's episode "Homer's Barbershop Quartet", along with the other classic, "Baby On Board" (in episode #82, from season 5 episode 1, first aired on September 30th 1993). The songs were partially sang by Disneyland's "The Dapper Dans", although the series' normal voice actors can be heard every now and then.
Coney Island is a peninsula, formerly an island, in southernmost Brooklyn, New York City, USA, with a beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The area was a major resort and site of amusement parks that reached its peak in the early 20th century. It declined in popularity after World War II and endured years of neglect.

1) One of the points of barbershop is precisely to sing in tune
2) I didn't use programs to tweak my voice, I practiced.

You know what'd be funny? If there was a group of identical quads or triplets who made videos like this and made people think they were one person edited to look like four - and then they surprise you and show that they're actually four different people at the end by hugging or shaking hands or something to prove that they're all real people!

I love how the tenor, lead, and bari all have fairly similar movements, body language, etc, but the bass just does his own thing. Just like the actual parts!

Thanks! I actually had a hard time recording this one with all the silly moves. I didn't have any lighting at the time and relied on natural sunlight beaming through my window. Thing is, my neighbor watched the whole choreography from her window as I made a fool of myself. :)

My vocal range is F below middle C to F three above middle C. What type of singer does that make me? Just curious.
Alex T Possibly a low baritone, but range and vocal fach have little to do with each other. You could also be a tenor with low range and not enough training.

I'm studying in school as a vocal major and I will NEVER be able to do what you do. To be able to sing all the parts and combine them perfectly and to sound AMAZING is just incredible. you are absolutely sensational.

That's the only thing that would make it a Simpson version.
@ Same, like I can't believe people wouldn't just know these characters from memory, but imo the show stopped being truly 'great' after around 1999 so I guess we're getting to the time where children haven't grown up with these characters.

I almost always start with the lead track, since barbershop is usually lead-driven. For this song however, the bass track carries the song, so I started with this one.

I'm sure someone with formal music training and a solid theoretical background could do a lot better than I. Really, give it a shot.

Yes: I have an iTunes link on my channel page with a few songs on their site. They aren't all there because, as you may know, putting songs on iTunes isn't free: one has to pay copyright fees, distribution fees, not to mention the cuts on sales iTunes takes too... In the end, there isn't much left for the artist if you don't sell hundreds of copies.

I am a sucker for barbershop quartets. Mainly for how the voices just blend so perfectly and as a music lover and vocalist myself, that feels satisfying to hear. I also love barbershop quartets because they introduced me to the good songs from way back then. Keep up the good work!

@RinzeYtsma It depends on the song, but it's typically lead then bass, then baritone then tenor. For Coney Island Baby, I started with the bass, since it carries the song. ;-)

I still don't understand your question: I just sing the parts, one after the other. Or perhaps it's a rhetorical question, as in "it seems difficult"? If so, yeah it wasn't easy, but the song is exactly in y vocal range: F2 to Bb4. :)

@MarsFiction Bass is fun to sing, but I think I prefer the baritone part, which isn't easy to pick out by ear, but definitely gives the harmony its fullness.
So I've watched this about 40 times in a row. I can't help it. It's just perfect. That and my love of the simpsons has come together in a something perfect. Keep it up, man. Everyone loves a good barbershop quartet from time to time!
I really like your videos and the barbershop music. But when talking about acapella, I don't know have you ever heard about "klapa". It's also has: lead singer, tenor, baritone and bass but it doesn't have to be limited to 4 members, it usually has more than one bass, baritone and tenor. Also, it's known only in Dalmatia (Croatia), there are similar kinds of singing but this is unique. Recently it has been added in UNESCO's non-material legacy :)
