A lot of people do not realize how good Cheryl Miller was. She was so good on the court, I mean she was scary good. She dropped over 100 points in a game once. She had a killer instinct on the court and was virtually unstoppable. If it was not for her knee injury, her career would have been much greater.
I was shocked about that myself. B/c Cheryl let everyone know how she felt about the Jordan rules affecting her brother everytime she could. And rightfully so
Cheryl was an absolute beast on the court, I think Reggie once said that he actually didn't win a one on one game against her, until he was a senior in high school...
He was our version of Michael Jordan. Thanks for making the Pacers great and giving me so many exciting memories as I grew up during the 90s. Anyone who thinks he shouldn't be in the HoF is disgracing himself. He NEVER stopped running off screens the whole game and the team was built around his sharpshooting. Oh, and he was money in the clutch.

She shot ABOVE 55% the next 3 years and average 13 rpg: she shot 61% from the field her senior year! NOBODY male or female has done it all while averaging a double double and Alamo’s double digit assists as well ALL FOUR YEARS! The shit is crazy! The best thing about the Hall of Fame are the speeches, the stories behind every player. Reggie Miller was a likable oponent, I wish he would have won a ring.
Growing up, Reggie Miller was easily my 2nd favorite player to watch behind Michael Jordan. Before Ray Allen and Steph Curry, Reggie Miller was the prototype for 3-point sniper shooting and frankly, he did it against much tougher odds than either Allen or Curry. Allen eventually got to be part of a superteam in the '08 Celtics and Curry has always had Klay Thompson on his side. Imagine Miller having a SECOND sniper to help pick him up during the 90s. Everytime he would finally conquer one huge playoff obstacle, there was always one waiting that was just to hard to overcome. Finally beats the Knicks in '95, then has to contend with a young powerhouse Magic team in the ECF. Finally gets to the NBA Finals in '00, then has to deal with a Lakers squad with 2 future HOFers and in the conversation of Top 10 all-time players and both coached by the greatest NBA coach ever. And this is all ignoring he had the impossible task of trying to dethrone Jordan's Bulls in the 90s. Miller unfortunately played in an unlucky era.
My first memory of basketball is my grandma taking me to market square in like 93 or 94 and the whole crowd chanting reggie, reggie. That's when I fell in love with basketball. Thanks reggie.
For anyone questioning his worthiness remember he played during a time when some of the greatest players, and certainly some of the biggest dynasties were in the NBA. His career started during the beginning of MJ's and the Bulls prime and ended with Shaq/Kobe dynasties. You put Reggie on the Lakers, or Bulls and he's a household name. He took a below average team to the playoffs. His numbers aren't as stellar as you'd think until you realize his percentage was unbelievably high, he just didn't take as many shots as the bigger named guys.
Great Hall-of-Fame Speech. Very heartfelt. I'm very glad that Reggie acknowledged all the players and teams that he played with and for. As often, I have greater respect for these great individuals who were great players in their time. I love basketball. And even more, I love listening to these greats speaking at the Hall-of-Fame inductions.
To put in perspective how great Cheryl Miller was. She was already in this hall of fame, 17 years before her brother, and 11 before Michael Jordan... It's not a Reggie being a nice brother, she truly is the greatest woman to ever play the game. Her records are still standing today. She is the combination of Wilt Chamberlin, Bill Russel, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan of Basketball
To me Reggie had more memorable playoff moments after they made the Finals, after 2001 I just remember watching clutch after clutch playoff shots up until he retired, if it wasn't for that brawl in Detroit that Pacers team would've gone to the Finals and won it all.
Hated him when he played against the Bulls but, In my opinion the greatest Pacer of all time, had the chance to go back to his hometown or pulling a KD and going to my Bulls, but he stayed loyal from beginning to end. Him and Ray will always be my favorite 3 point shooters
Throughout my childhood I had only one role model outside my family, and that was Reggie Miller. All the days and nights mimicing Reggies shot surrounded by cornfields in New Middletown, Indiana. My family taking me to a game every year to see Reggie and the Pacers play. Watching Reggie taught me hard work, how to be confident, and most importantly loyalty. Í have so many fond childhood memories because of Reggie Miller and I wouldn't trade the 18 years I had watching him for 18 championships.
For a reason I have never been of fan of Reggie, not even sure why. With this speech he basically got a new fan. Great guy, I’ll go watch his highlights again. The fact that he asks all his teammates to stand up so that they get a standing ovation is just next level of greatness

Cheryl is and always will be a beast, shame she got injured so young but I believe she wouldn't change a thing if it meant this moment didn't exist. She truly loves Reggie and he learned to be a killer from the best.
Reggie having his attending teammates stand up for an applause is just pure class. I don’t enjoy anyone more than I enjoy hearing Reggie’s voice commentating an NBA game.
Wow, why does this have to be about Curry? Anyway, since we're here, let me say a few things. I am on the side that still doesn't recognize Curry as the greatest shooter ever unless he continues this for a couple more years. But Curry has been shooting great numbers from the moment he walked into the league. Took him some time to get to superstar level, but the dude's not been on a 2 year run by any stretch of the imagination. He's been a legit star since 2012. And an All-star and All-NBA for 3 years now. It's just that the media found their new golden boy, and decided to market him too enthusiastically these past 2 seasons. Sure, he may have taken a lot more shots, but you can't really blame him, it's not like he's missing them.
I just see Reggie as a Class Act. Once in Concord New Hampshire I stood next to him - I'm 5 5 in shoes - as he waited for a helicopter to take him to a race up in Conway NH. We didn't speak, and I didn't recognize him, but he was a kind, immaculately dressed, gentle, and unforgettable man even then. After I saw the 30 for 30 ESPN tape - which I believe is one of the best BBall films EVER - I knew. After that short "meeting" I didn't expect him to mention me in his speech, but even so he always brings a smile. God has indeed blessed his entire family.
Wow a brother and sister are both in the hall of fame! Their dad Saul Miller is from my hometown(Memphis). Outstanding job of raising two hall of famers.
Love you Reg!! So sorry you never got a ring, I really thought the J.O. crew would get it done. SO enjoyed the Knicks vs. Hicks days & all your ways against Spike, hilarious & genius! Not the same without you, but thanks for all the memories & your loyalty to Indiana, you rock!!
What a smooth, classy guy. I love the story and connection with his sister Cheryl as well. She trash talked and schooled all those boys at basketball!!
Reggie should at least have one ring...he made off the ball play cool. He taught niggas how to move around without the ball, and how to wear your opponent out...shit that people don't think about.
Christopher Miller That is the truth right there!. Even at 34 years old I have kids half my age who hate guarding me because they know they gotta run. They know I'm gonna run in circles until they either get tired or run into a screen. I learnt that when I was 17 from Reggie Miller.
Must say how grateful I was to be able to see a man with such good class play this game in 95 when he dropped those 24 pts in that 4th quater is when I knew this man was gonna be my favorite NBA player of all time since then I've been a longtime Pacer being from NY people always tell me why Indiana they suck and whatnot, but all I'd have to say is Reggie Miller and ppl would just not say a word to me again....Thank you Reggie For the great memories in the NBA and congrats on your HOF induction..
I never heard of Reggie until his sister Cheryl scored 100 points in a single high school game in the early 80's. He was one of the top players in So Cal at the time and a part of a best-of-the-best All-Star team that came to my high school to practice. The team needed an extra player so I played with Reggie just this one time. I remember watching him warm up before we scrimmaged and I knew then, he was special.

As an Indiana kid in the late 80s and 90s, my childhood hero gave me so many great memories. Thanks for everything Reggie!
This is what arguably the greatest shooter in NBA history REALLY looks like. Not some other guy on a 2-year run.
sorry but 40 points Doesn't Pass 105 points the best shooter in basketball history's and possibly best player Is Reggie Sister Cheryl Miller
That guy on a two year run made 403 3s in one season
He shoots a lot more than Reggie tho. He's already shot over half as many 3's in 7 years as Reggie did in his 18 year career.
It's "about Curry" only because he's already been anointed by far too many as the all-time this, that and the other that the game has ever seen.
Rest in peace to Reggie Miller mom. She's a angel in heaven and I bet she's very proud of you Reggie for accomplishing so much.
Wow a brother and sister are both in the hall of fame! Their dad Saul Miller is from my hometown(Memphis). Outstanding job of raising two hall of famers.
So good I can NEVER forget you!! Well done brother!
Best trash talker of the game, lol, we love you Reggie, even Michael
Love you Reg!! So sorry you never got a ring, I really thought the J.O. crew would get it done. SO enjoyed the Knicks vs. Hicks days & all your ways against Spike, hilarious & genius! Not the same without you, but thanks for all the memories & your loyalty to Indiana, you rock!!
Thanks for being great Reggie. You’re my favorite player 🤟🏾
reggie will always be one of my favorite players of all time
Reggie Miller foi jogador fantástico da NBA. Parabéns pela premiação merecida de ter o nome elevado ao Hall of Fame.
When I was younger I hated him now he is one of my favorite players of all time. Just got to respect him.
"To Greg Anothony, yeah, I pushed" lol
Nice job Mr & Mrs Miller. Looks like you raised a really nice, strong and classy family.
An absolute LEGEND!!!!! on the court and off of the court! Much love and respect from NC, MR. Miller 💯
Was and will always be one of my favorite players of all time
What a smooth, classy guy. I love the story and connection with his sister Cheryl as well. She trash talked and schooled all those boys at basketball!!
i feel like he could play obama if he begins acting
Leon Qua I thought the same thing.
I also was thinking the same thing lol
Leon Qua dam you took that thought out of my head
That be a tall ass Obama
Kombucha Man yea let's just have unwanted children be born
This is about as close as you can get to a perfect speech...
One of the best Reggie Miller. This is one of the best speech from a Hall of Famer.
Oh Reggie Miller... ONE OF THE GREATEST! The guy was amazing, he was so good playing basket ball!!!!!!!
Too bad Reggie, Barkley, Stockton, Malone, Dominique & Ewing couldn't have all played on the same team for a season to win it all once.
