100 Words You Say Wrong (Common pronunciation mistakes in English)

- Here are 100 words that people often say wrong in English. Do you make any of these common pronunciation mistakes?
English pronunciation is a real challenge for people learning English, because the spelling is so irregular. Just think of all those silent letters...
If you sometimes say these words incorrectly, don't worry - you're not alone! It is very common to mispronounce these words.
Please note:
When I say "British English/pronunciation", I'm referring to RP (received pronunciation). When I say "American English/pronunciation", I'm referring to General American. Obviously there are many other English accents and dialects, but it's impractical to look at all of them in a video like this.

Hi Max, glad to see you back again. I missed your lessons.
One thing that is very contraintuitive in English pronunciation is the way how words with many syllabels are pronounced, like the examples you had in your video: mischievous, photography, thermometer. I would find it very helpful if you could prepare a lesson with such words. I'm sure, I pronounce most of them wrong.
Yes... unfortunately we have to learn each word individually :S.
Большое спасибо, Вам
I love this lady.prefect instructor.
Thourought enjoyed it. Thanks.
So glad that teacher Max is still giving courses. It's a good news for me
❤️
It is an amazing video with a lot of learning. Frankly speaking, pronunciation of words has been such a tough challenge for people whose native language is not English because of the linguistic interference of other languages. I watched the video from A to Z and I too much learned from you. Keep on sharing your valuable experiences. From Mozambique.
Many thanks for your kind words :).
It's not that I don't know how to pronounce basic English words, its the way you speak which is so unique and beautiful . I watch it to get entertained

Really wonderful
Hello namesake!))) Glad to see you again !!!
Hey, thanks!
Helpfull video 👍
Hi Max....love your lessons.....
It would have been good to mention 'area' next to 'idea' :) Other examples that come to mind: corps/corpse, coup (d'état), finite/infinite. In general, people whose native language applies stress mostly on penultimate syllable tend to apply it the same way while speaking English, so they would stress all these words incorrectly: attribute, attributed, request, response. This holds true especially in tech. Myself, I usually forget where to stress longer words, such as 'administrative', and need to double-check.
Thanks! I'll keep those in mind for other videos :).
I benefited a lot from your pronunciation of the words. Thank you very much, a fan of the English language from Saudi Arabia . شكرا جزيلا🤣 أنت وسيمة وجوهرة

That's great .
I like this video! Many thanks to the author of the channel for the recommendations! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities. However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves. You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike. To really learn something, you have to really practice every day. You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives. Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions. However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve. It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc. Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating. In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots. In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible. I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information. My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena. I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot's Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language". This book is always in my bag. If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book. There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes. I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning. Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve. No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day. Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me.
Thank you very much!
And all the best for your language learning journey!
Max is a very pleasant person. Very easy to understand and her smile makes her, yup, very pleasant.
Hey Max, it is an exhaustive list of mispronounced words. People often mispronounce words like nephew, sew, answer etc.
Dear Lady, you are a fountain of civility and wisdom!!! I'm looking forward to listening to everything you are willing to teach!!😇
Thank you very much for your support :).
Just discovered you, you're great! I've always been fascinated not only by UK vs. American pronunciations, but reginal accents in countries. Take "business" that you covered. In the Deep South of the US, it may even be called "bidness." I was born and grew up in the Mid-Atlantic of the US, which is pretty much known for having little accent compared to the rest of the US. Anyway, darn those English with their silent letters, can you all Crownsters just clean them up by removing them to help the non-native speakers :)
Thanks very much!
And yes, I definitely think that some spelling reform is in order!
❤ Tranks a lot ❤
You're the best Max 🌹😍❤
I love your English teaching so much !!!...💐
