Great to see your reaction!! I think this is an interesting list with a lot of surprises. I can't wait to see you and other creators read some of these and the opinions come in... You got the most out right out of people's whose predictions I watched!
Aw thanks Mo! I'm excited for this list although I'm struggling to find titles so might not be able to read the whole list as planned - let's see how it all goes :)
I got 4 right! Which I was really happy with (Western Lane, Enter Ghost, Nightbloom, and The Wren, The Wren). Yes, Alicia Elliot is the author of A Mind Spread Out On The Ground. I was so happy to see this. It's set in Toronto! Excited for Women's Prize Season!
4 is so good! And I almost bought A Mind Spread Out On The Ground like last week, it was in my hand at the bookshop and I placed it back. But now I'll focus on And Then She fell! :D
Thank goodness for your videos because I had no idea it had been announced! I think 3 is a good job, there's soo many books that could have contended, so that's very good! I agree that they usually have a book from the Booker Prize there. I've read another book by the author of Nightbloom and I wasn't a fan, but this book sounds interesting! But I've never heard of any of these books hahaha! I told myself I wouldn't be sucked into the prize this year, but I am tempted to check it out now! Oh I recognise the author of A Mind Spread out on the Ground, I've wanted to read this for so long, glad to see she's nominated!
Wow! Totally applaud your reading in such a huge area, where new names can jump in at any time. I tend more to read nonfiction where you get a lot of the same names and themes emerging.
I saw 8 lives on your prediction list and immediately put it on my TBR because it sounded fascinating. So glad it made it to the longlist! (Same thoughts as you on Soldier Sailor).
I can understand why Ordinary Human Failings keeps gettung nominated. Though I think it's good, im not convinced it will win. I'm also intrigued by Karen Lord's book 😊
Interesting to hear! It doesn't appeal to me at all, but maaaay give it a chance. It doesn't feel like a book that would win the prize, but we'll see! I'm soo intrigued by Lord's book - trying to find a copy right now!

Love how excited you got when it was a book you predicted. 3 is amazing. I’m excited for Alicia Elliott’s book. 😊💙
I 100% did not expect to get 3 right 😂

haha I'm glad I can help! It's a fun video to make and discover books for myself too!

Thanks Heather! I love reading a bit of everything, it's just an eclectic bit of personality haha

I'm sooo happy 8 Lives is on! I'm ordering it from the bookshop now as I can't find it anywhere else!
I loved soldier sailor. I will recommend the audio, it comes alive in it
Me too, fantastic book!
You know it's the only book I've found an audiobook for so it might be what I'm forced to start with 😆 hopefully I love it too!
When I saw 8 lives on the list I was like haha I know this one because I watched your prediction. Great job predicting one of the surprise 😂
haha it was a wild card, but I was so happy to see it on the list!!

'You have to be open to some trauma if you are getting into literary fiction.' LOL right?!?
😂
