I am not really into gel nails. But I really like James and I can just feel his joy and excitement when he talks about and tries different products and techniques. So here I am, heavily invested in a nail channel with the rest of you guys! And hey, maybe once I learn I'll start doing some nail art too!
I'm completely clueless about nail art and different types of nail polishes (I'm someone who occasionally paints my nails with regular nail polish haha) but this has definitely made me want to try nail art. I'm super interested in trying out those syrups. They look so beautiful! You do such an amazing job, it's really nice to see you starting out because it gives me hope that I can do nail art too 💜 Also it's so refreshing to see someone in the process of learning something instead of only seeing professionals who make really difficult things look easy haha

Wearing creepy gloves because I recently had an allergic reaction and I’m not taking any chances lol
Please see an allergist and get an allergy test done so you can find out which ingredients caused it bc those allergies typically don't go away, they get worse. Speaking as a nail tech who is allergic to several ingredients in gel polish.
Not creepy to me! I love them. I am queer and I associate black gloves with safer sex practices! So far I associate them with positive experiences. ✨
I second what @@TeriSquari said. Get an allergy test done so you know what is causing the reaction so you can avoid it. A lot of times it happens when people get gel on their skin after they cure their nails or use a dark dark gel color and it doesn’t cure all the way so you’re having uncured gel on your nail plate (typically happens with black, dark reds and blues).
Hoping whatever is causing the allergic reaction clears up soon for you. 😊

@@TeriSquari hey! Yesss I plan too 😭 I’ve noticed it’s always when I’ve cut near my finger nail. I’m pretty clumsy so whenever there’s an open wound or damaged skin, I tend to react! I noticed it when I first started doing my nails and I (stupidly) tried a dry manicure with e-file and overly prepped my skin. I have horrible allergies. It’s been absolutely fine since then but recently I got a paper cut right across my cuticle on my thumb and did my nails and flared up!
Your unboxing is so helpful to get familiar with the brands and products! I’m starting and there’s sooo many! Please let us know your favourite Korean nail techs, TH-cam’s algorithm doesn’t show me anything anymore 😭😭😭 even if I search
I have always been very simple in my polishes. This just opened a door for me! I am not familiar with any of these brands and I’m definitely going to be trying them out. Thank you again!!

Ugh, why is everything SO GOOD?! I'm already saving up to get more of the Tiny gel polishes cuz I love them, I guess I'm gonna have to start up a whole Korean nail product savings account!😅 Oh, and for anyone in the US, Zillabeau is a great place to get some of these products. They even do free shipping if you spend enough, which, let's face it, really isn't that hard to do!
I can never do long painted nails because of my job and my allergies to nail glue. Always enjoy you on my screen though James. ❤
They now have soak off tabs like double sided tape. Maybe give them a go and decorate fake nails instead.

Love Korean nail art , I’ve been looking for products for a while to try for some reason these stores didn’t come up in my search and most of the others I tried didn’t deliver to England or did but charged a fortune, thanks so much for showing somewhere with decent prices where I can actually get a delivery from. Now just got save up , I swear my wish list is about £2000 long already 😂

I've never had a lot of luck with ink so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I've heard you need to use them on top of a matte surface. Also omg this is my dream haul 🫣🥹😍 you have great taste!
Yessss one way to do it is on matte nails but I love the glassy look that people do with the inks over the matte surface! The matte surface feels a little…tumblr 2010 for me 😅
I just envisioned Van Gogh starry night for my nails. They looked beautiful in theory but 5 hours later 😩I just slapped on a bunch of holographic butterflies and call them spring night. I bet they would have come out how I wanted with these products. I’m glad I found your channel.

Suggestion on the nails samples, the tack is colored, it throws me off when the nail art is transparent (at least in the beginning). Could it be white?
Brown syrup/jelly colors are great for tortoiseshell shell designs, if you wanted to use it for something!🤗

Browns, yellows, beiges of the jelly polishes (syrup) are great for making tortiseshell layers for a really cool look.
Nice to see content from someone who lives in UK. most are in US and we can't get the sane products sometimes especially with TEMU you don't ship here for some reason. I'm interested in nail stamping atm would like to see some hauls on stamping plates and polishes for that that are available here in the UK
Have the same problem with temu in Australia.
Essence is affordable and hs a massive line of colors, I think you'll like them

I appreciate that you wear those gloves. I often think about how sensitizing nail products can be and then have concerns for nail youtubers. Seeing the swatches lined up on their cards made me "Oooo" each time. Do you keep those for reference?
Yesss I have to because I had a reaction once and I won’t risk it now haha. I used to! But I never displayed them haha. I have these really cool swatching book type things so I can see the colours!

Hiya, I love your videos. You are very informative especially about the Korean Nail Products. I have a question for you. The Leave paint in grey, you said it doesn't last long. Do you mean it will fade with wear? If so, can it be revived by going back under a lamp? Just curious. I ordered the Jello Jello drawing gels, and a few other Jello Jello products, cannot wait for them to come in. So glad you gave the store names where you get your products. Fixing to go and do some shopping, the Edge Clear Gel, Kaniu, Non-wipe painting gel, Leave and Gentil Pink are all things I am interested in from this video. Thank you for all the great info.

You're improving so quickly, I'm rather jelly.😹😹
It took me almost a year to do "basic" gels(before I learned about those nail stands, though yours are so much cuter!) because I kept 'burning' myself((I had a reaction to the securing gel and the polish, so no more clipping/filing my cuticles, and all of mine are glued on after designing)).
I also started mine off too long because none of the pros I was watching say to start wearing gel nails short to keep from bruising your nailbeds, aaaaand...well, it took a month to recover once I realised what it was.
I wish those Korean nail lacquers weren't so pricey, as I'd love a few jellies and syrups. Those UV reactive ones would be cute for people going outside to know the sun is going to do a number on your skin, so slather on that SPF. Tempted to get some any way and make my niece some press-ons.
I kinda want to see you collab with Evie @longhairprettynails on some super cute anime nails.
Ohhh and a quick tip, for the inks they work best on a matte surface ❤

If you find using them on a shiny surface gives you issues you can always lay down a matte top coat, do the work then top it regular glossy top coat and voila it’s like they were never matte 😉 I forget my regular name shows on my TH-cam not my business name 🤦🏼♀️ so it’s not a given a pro nail tech 😂 I absolutely love seeing you do nails! Always loved you and Robert and love your passion for nails 💅🏼 I wish you continued success on this channel and I’m sure you’ll have it💕

Could you do a video on nail care like cuticle oil or treatments, best base coats or top coats, if those oils do anything. I want to invest in my nails a bit more and have been looking at some treatments from opi, nailsinc sally hensen etc and they are for me a luxury item and would like to know if they're worth it or if i could just rub rapeseed cooking oil instead. Also what is your opinion on taking skin or nail supplements specifically

Would it be at all possible for a clear bottom when doing the swatches? They're super helpful to see but the pink blob covers the design and colour. Either way I love your videos! ❤

The pink blob is the putty that sticks the nail to the holder. Using the glue tabs would help but then you have the holder

Because I’ve had a bad reaction! I was going to open the products whilst talking about them but just went straight into swatching. I’m being extra cautious at the moment!

Nooooo not at all. I would say you can use polygel to do what zigzag gels will do but not the other way round!
