Thanks for having a look at this shameful episode in our history. Many people died over this, on the government side too. But on the Covenanter side they died for a principal of belief. My next video might be a lot more cheerful my friends 😀
Brutal. The way people were treated..not your video. You have definitely picked a topic that not many know about. It'd a fascinating time in Scottish history and as you know we concentrate on what I would call the more showbiz side of Scottish characters and their history and the Covananters just simply get brushed over. Your explanation of what went on is great. A nice breakdown. I think you should do a wee series of Scotish History less known. Keep at it 👍😁👍🥾🥾🥃🥃🥃🥃
@TerryMcGearyScotland So many topics to choose from and so many big hitters and points of history just waiting to be explored. The past of Scotland has shaped who we are and how we operate today. 👍😁🥾🥾
Being from Hamilton, i was well aware of the Covenanters grave and the horrible deaths these 4 men endured because of their beliefs, it's certainly a dark time in Scottish history Terry, my Dad served with the Cameronians and obviously they had ties with the Covenanters and I remember stories of the Covenanters sending out guards to the four corners to watch out for the King's men, while they practiced their beliefs, as well as being dark times, the history is fascinating, looking forward to catching up on more of your videos on this Terry, great stuff atb Brian 👍
Thanks Brian, that’s great to get extra information on the topic. I’m not a historian but I’m finding the Covenanters are stimulating an interest in it now. I find it’s not easy trying to get my head around the monarchy during that turbulent 100 years but it’s slowly sinking in. I’m finding a series on U channel Charles I : Downfall of a King, with Lisa Hilton really useful. Thanks again Brian. There will be more martyrs stories 🙏
Wow, chopped up then Terry. That is brutal. I was watching a program on the Normans the other day and they weren't any different. I mean, to subjugate the country the wrecked crops and took away the tools to make nay effectively creating famine. It sounds like the Scottish King/government was doing the same. Thanks my friend - interesting. Have a great week ahead. Mark
A lot of history there for sure. Thanks for sharing Terry ☕️🇨🇦☕️🇨🇦

You have to admire some people who stay strong in their faith...

Cheers for that! I’ll have a go at that. This has got me more interested in Scottish history.

It takes a strong will and faith to oppose the system. What ever it may be.
It does indeed! Brave people.

Sad times. But nowadays we don’t have to be up close and personal to kill and dismember. People still act brutally in places throughout the world.
thats a very sad situation
It was a brutal time in our history wasn’t it? Nice of you to look and comment. T hanks 🏴
