    Amazing. I have a model train in storage that I would love to start making dioramas for. These tips are really helpful.

    This is a great video format! Love the dead lichen as underbrush too.

    The bourbon definitely adds that little touch. I've been doing similar trees out of the pipe cleaners, but putting them directly on hex bases, might try those smaller bases.......with some Buffalo Trace.

    Aaaaah...that's what those pipe cleaners are used for. Got it! Thanks.

    Just a question about the bourbon. Would a different brand do as well since bourbons are somewhat difficult to get here in Europe? Or could even a good Scotch or spiced rum substitute? Anyway, awesome tutorial with a nice twist on a well known theme. Made me subscribe.

      Thanks, Jojanne! I'm afraid we cannot guaranty your pine trees will turn out this amazing without the exact same bourbon...but it would be fun to try, right? Around here, good Scotch is always a welcome substitute!

    Very nice. Quick and easy. What are the bases made from?

    • @LittleWarsTV
      @LittleWarsTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! The bases here are cardboard, taken from the back of a large artist sketch book. The cardboard on the backs of those books tends to be fairly sturdy, but still able to cut with heavy scissors.

    Beeing located in Germany I could not find pipe cleaner which thinns and thickens like the one you usesd. Could you provide a product link such that I may find them? Thanks a lot!

    I think my daughter's got some green pipe cleaners in one of the Christmas storage boxes. guess I'm going to have to misappropriate a couple of them 😈

    Would it be possible to increase the scale by 100-150%? What would you recommend?

    Sorry for the stupid question but being based in France, where can I order those nice green pipe cleaners ?

      I would google bump chenille and hopefully something shows up near you.

    Awesome! Do you know how to make leafless trees as easily ?

    • @LittleWarsTV
      @LittleWarsTV  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This easily? No. But it can be done in a couple ways. The bare, smallest armatures from Woodland Scenics. Or if you want cheap, we’ve done homemade twisted wire trees. They are tedious and not “easy,” but they do look good

    Wouldn't it be way easier to paint and flock the base first, before glueing the pine trees onto it? Am I missing something?

    This was really useful, but they're really fragile. Squeeze them after they're spraypainted, and they get stuck like that.

    What do you do when you want miniatures to enter or sit in the forests?

    • @LittleWarsTV
      @LittleWarsTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If the bases for the units are large enough to balance, we sit them on top of the trees. Otherwise, we sit bases along the edges of the forested area, poking out a bit. We also cut out felt pieces to match the size/shape of the base, and when needed will move the trees and just leave the felt for units moving through.

      @deathguarddavegoogley2022 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The felt is a good idea. Cheers.

  • @bobotea1234

    why not paint the base first?

    • @LittleWarsTV
      @LittleWarsTV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A general lack of foresight is the reason the bases were not painted first! So I think you're onto something there...

    No ice in the bourbon? - shocking! Otherwise, great video.

      Hah, too hardcore without the ice?
