    I live how honest Emma is. When she fawns over a baby, she is not faking. When she asks Mom or Dad how they feel, she really wants to know. Many things, taking blood, measuring blood pressure etc, can be trained - true empathy like hers in most cases cannot and are worth gold.

    Currently 30+4 with my first and I can't stop watching this series. As nervous as I am to give birth these are helping keep me calm just watching these amazing women become mommas. Getting more and more excited to meet my sweet boy, no matter what kind of birth gets him here

    When I was a nurse in education thirty years ago support staff did not do observations. ( I’m assuming she is being educated about the implications of the observations. Qualified nurses did not take blood. That was done by either a doctor of a phlebotomist. Times are a-changing

    Does anyone know how many episodes are in season 2? Also if their something wrong with Paige’s baby? It wasn’t moving a lot and was slow to cry. I’m wondering if maybe it has a birth defect or is that normal?

    There was no valid reason for Emma to be in the delivery room or to be present during a water birth. She has been given special consideration due to her affiliation with the media.

    As said, no way would I EVER have a baby in Scandinavia, or Great Britain. In Norway, for example, many women choose a C-section to avoid birth pain. In this day and age, it's inexcusable for women to be screaming in pain giving birth. Here in the USA we choose, and the majority choose pain free. I lived in Norway for years , but had my baby here. AND, with my two wonderful doctor's. Midwife, no way! Watching these women scream, as if the end result makes horrific pain worth it? Doesn't fly with me. No thanks! This is the 21st century!

    • @jodeming5088
      @jodeming5088 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I totally agree. As a retired nurse I believe unless it's the moms choice that pain free is the way to go. There is no reason for anyone to be in that kind of pain for so many hours.

    • @donnabaardsen5372
      @donnabaardsen5372 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jodeming5088 Amen! These videos literally make me cringe. I had two wonderful doctor's who made sure my experience was joyful and pain free. That any woman would put up with what we see here is mind boggling! In Europe, in many countries, they have no choice. They're passively tolerating this. So sad! It's all about choice.

    • @EyeKnow1111
      @EyeKnow1111 3 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      To each their own, but birth is natural. Labour is pain with a purpose and unless a mom chooses pain-free, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a natural birth. Pain-free birth comes with its own set of issues, including an increased risk of other interventions including vacuum assisted birth and C-section.

    • @Irenelidwina
      @Irenelidwina 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      That is not actually true. Epidurals are allowed, just less commonly used in Europa. Both in the Uk and Norway epidurals are used in 1 in 3 deliveries. It’s a woman’s choice how she wants to labor.

    • @river8760
      @river8760 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@susanfifer5744 my c -section blew my mind it was so painful. I wasn’t expecting it either but my son was huge. I would never go through labour without pain meds though, no thanks! I hate being in out of control pain. But to each their own.
