I spent last 5 days trying to install FCOM going by tutorials on bethsoft forums and FCOM website and I couldn't get it to work at all. With this video tuts is DEAD EASY. I really appreciate the amount of work you have put to this, you have my eternal thanks. Big thumbs up for you, bro, this is absolutely awesome. THANK YOU!
Before yesterday, I had never once used a mod, or had even seen programs like BOSS and Wrye Bash, let alone used them. I was discouraged by all of the problems people seemed to have with installing mods, especially FCOM. However, after 24 hours of downloading content and following this tutorial to the letter, I have to report that FCOM works flawlessly. I have yet to find a single bug. Any downloads that are no longer up can be easily found with Google. This tutorial is awesome, 'nuff said.
I know it's several years later and most of this stuff has been updated, but between this and the latest FCOM thread I was able to get everything installed and working perfectly. Thanks a lot!
@Antiks72 It's explained somewhere that the reason they haven't done that is because they wanted it to be modular and easily updateable, so you can pick and choose the bits you want and when one of your chosen bits is updated, you can just install the updated version of that one bit instead of having to reinstall the whole thing. Or something like that.
Just a quick update, the Unofficial Oblivion patch supplementals are no longer around as they got included in the latest version of UOMP as far as I can tell
Your guide will be very helpfull for sure. Just a question on fran. I noticed a new option on the FCOM page. 5.0 Fransceso's Leveled Creatures Item BAIN Installer Should i get that instead and install with bain?
@xxsleipnirx If you go to the end of the thread, it gives you a link to a newer thread. Do that twice more and you'll end up at the most up-to-date thread, with working links.
@evolagenda try the elder scrolls nexus page where he gets fcom convergence beta 9dot9 ... I'm just going to assume it's the same thing, it may have been put there more recently
A problem arose! The FCOM_Convergence.bsa at 11:17 can't be downloaded because megaupload got taken out. I tried searching it in google but every single link i found (and i did find about 5) was a path to megaupload. So... crap. is there a work-around? Great video though. Sheds a lot of light onto the situation ^^
in the OOO winzip archive, do I have to unzip it and reorganize some things, and then compress it again? Because there's a folder, along with the textures and other folders, called OOO. And it contains 3 more subfolders called OOO lite, OOO heavy, and OOO addons, in which they contain a bunch of .esp files.
Also the Updated Official DLC mobs I seem to only be able to find in Italian... Is there an english version anywhere and/or is it essential to FCOM convergence?
Thanks for the guide. I fucked up the first two times when i wanted to install other mods that you didn't mention. But I eventually figured it out. Its like playing a new game :D
I downloaded Wrye Bash 295-2 and tried installing it but there was no check box for oblivion, so I clicked extra locations and tried installing it into the oblivion directory but nothing actually happened.
The FCOM_Convergence.bsa at 11:17 needs an alternate link. I've been looking on google and i cannot find it. Please help if you could, be much appreciated.
That FCOM thread is outdated. Go to the last page on that thread and scroll down to the bottom. You will see a link to the new thread with updated information.
ok, so i have a completely vanilla oblivion (no mods/patches/updates or dlc or expansion packs) am i able to just move my oblivion file from program files or do i have to re install it? i have a character i have spent alot of time working on. if i have to re install would i be able to add that save in later so i can keep it? or would i have to start my character over again?
@Avalanchezs If I knew how to post links on youtube comments, I would but TH-cam doesn't allow them. Just look for Frans on Nexus. It should have V5 or something. It's Bain/Omod ready as well. Made installing FCOM so much easier since it has all the files you need.
If you do decide to do an updated video, consider explaining things a little more thoroughly. You do an great job on the what and how, but you don't go into much detail regarding the why. Like, why do you only need the last warcry link and not the other two? Does the bsa trump those two? Why do you prefer not to use OBMM? Is your use of 7-zip over other programs like winrar a matter of personal preference, or is there an actual reason? This vid is great, but give a little more detail.
And now that the link's correct, you might want to update the video itself, because the new thread offers Francesco v5, which looks infinitely simpler than the 4.5 you're using here.
can you still use oblivion mod manager even when your using the FCOM thing because id like to still use the HGEC mod. or is there a better mod to make females look better.
@pentalway No, I don't believe so. If you look at the file being installed (in the pane above where you check esps), you will see that only the required esp and esm are installed, along with the meshes, textures, sounds, ect. Also, none of the other esps are installed. Wrye Bash is smart in that it knows what to look for and what to ignore.
Oh dear, i can hardly remember. I think that the 1.0 version found if you google "FCOM convergence 1.0" has it included... otherwise i don't know any more, sorry. Good luck!
Fcom is infinitely easier to install compared to some time ago thanks to BOSS and Wrye Bash. The load order can be a bitch to deal with if using something like omod. Bash does everything better.
If you can install Oblivion, FCOM, Wrye Bash and about a 100 other mods and get them all working correctly, then you are about ready for that masters in computer science.
I wish oh I wish I could install this... All of the links are down, and can not find a lot of the mods... So much for being able to play Oblivion again 10 years later :/

3 years later and it is still helping. Thank you very much
Make it 9 years!
Beamer, I can't thank you enough. You made this tutorial at the exact moment then I need it. Thank you :)

that's what I am trying to do now, I hope this video is helpfull
Trelaras Leontas Just make sure to look for the latest FCOM thread on the Bethesda forums
I have the tesalliance thread for FCOM. Bethesda thread is better?
Trelaras Leontas I used the one on the bethsoft dot com forums. It was started on 6/3/14
I found a usefull guide there from "nUbee" and is up to date. Thanks for the advices
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I finally managed to install FCOM correctly, It actually was not as difficult as I expected it to be.

@Parasmunt
Corrected again, it is on Nexus. The BSA files are named differently is all.
@xxsleipnirx No problem. And it seems Beamer has been listening, because the link in the description is now the correct one.
I know it has been a long time, but do you remember if Fcom 1.0 works with the versions of the other mods as they are in this video?
Thanks!
@bernie23232323232323
The Supplementals are covered in the 3.4 patch for the Oblvion unofficial patch

Hey Beamer , I just wanted to let you know that FCOM 1.0 is out ! Will you upgrade your tutorial ? Thanks in advance
@Avalanchezs Also note that this guide is now outdated as a new version of Frans is out which is already FCOM ready.
Also the Updated Official DLC mobs I seem to only be able to find in Italian... Is there an english version anywhere and/or is it essential to FCOM convergence?

@Beamer159 hi beamer, I'm following your guide, but there isn't any Martigen's Monster Mod 3.7b3 can you do something for this problem please???
@Beamer159
the links for Bob's Armory.bsa and WarCryEV.bsa are down!!
It's part of the Unofficial_Oblivion_Patch_v3_4_1_Upgrade_Installer.
good tut after this i installed all my mods with wrye working perfectly .. goodbye obmm and nexus :)
The FCOM_Convergence.bsa at 11:17 needs an alternate link. I've been looking on google and i cannot find it. Please help if you could, be much appreciated.

Is there any reason you're choosing to use BAIN over OMOD?

@Parasmunt
Seems not a good idea to put your file in one place only when there are numerous sites dedicated to modding Oblivion.
@ApollGoth What DLCs do you have for Oblivion?
@kklol7 make sure its outside of the data folder, and that u installed all the extras (python crap)
@Avalanchezs If I knew how to post links on youtube comments, I would but TH-cam doesn't allow them. Just look for Frans on Nexus. It should have V5 or something. It's Bain/Omod ready as well. Made installing FCOM so much easier since it has all the files you need.

Why do you only need the one warcry link and not the other two?
@CrumbHuntComplete under optional files btw
Okay, I just found out about an auto-installing Superpack thing. It's on torrent sites.
Im not 100% ure, but since the save files are located somewhere else that the oblivion folder, re-installing will not affect your character.
Oh dear, i can hardly remember. I think that the 1.0 version found if you google "FCOM convergence 1.0"
has it included... otherwise i don't know any more, sorry. Good luck!
If you just use FCOM 1.0 it's been streamlined and all the links work.
You are a hero!
I can't get registered on Nexus... says to check my email but I did and no new emails...?
where can I get UFCOM_Convergence.bsa, feds took out megaupload
I will definitely look into it!
Oh god....installing mods into the actual data folder! *shriek*
i cant download convergence 7z
1. the link to megaupload is blocked
2. i cant find it anywhere
Very nice Tutorial..
Thanks!
If I'm using steam how how do I install Oblivion to a different folder?
@evolagenda did u find the file? :(
If I had the scripting experience, I would archive all the files you would need for this, and create a script that automatically installs it....
A new video would be shorter and easier to do. The main part would be showing how to make a proper bash patch with the correct settings.
Same problem as most other people. I can't find UFCOM_Convergence.bsa anywhere.
Oh and the reason a new video would be easier is because FCOM 1.0 is out and a lot of the new links are on 1 site.
That is FCOM 1.0 and has all the data required.
Fcom is infinitely easier to install compared to some time ago thanks to BOSS and Wrye Bash. The load order can be a bitch to deal with if using something like omod. Bash does everything better.
@evolagenda
Nexus has it.
Use the fcom: superpack
@Avalanchezs Yes.
nice tutorial but i dont get anything and in the end as usualy at my oblivion it doesnt work^^
I'd pay somebody to do this for me. THE PAIN, THE PAIN!
@dm3588
thanks a lot dude
Come on Beamer , upgrade your tutorial ! (please)
lol, they won't let me download wrye bash because they fail to recognize that my email adress is validated. why can't i just download a fucking file ?
lulz that was my profile pic before I changed it
@Parasmunt
No it doesn't sorry.
Shit what a nuisance.
Omg the links are total shit , have to look for all the mods by myself -.-
Oh yeah. The major mods in FCOM are utterly incompatible, so you have to "bash" them over the head to make them behave.
So much hassle.
