Jake Hoot Reacts To His 'The Voice' Win: 'The Wind Got Knocked Out Of Me!'

- "The Voice" has crowned a new winner! One day after Jake Hoot was announced as the champion of Season 17, the country crooner and single dad talked to All Access co-host Zuri Hall about his victory. "I still don't know how that happened … I still am just kind of blown away and in a haze about it," the Team Kelly artist said, admitting he thought finalist Ricky Duran was going to take home the big prize. Jake also discussed how his daughter reacted to his huge accomplishment.

Let's not forget, I GOT LUCKY with having Jake Hoot on my final Voice team (Kat and Hello Sunday are my others), proud of him for winning the Voice, and I wanted to tell you that I have gotten Back to Back Voice Champions
He was a 1-chair turn! Kelly was the only one who turned for him. And he still WON, WOW.
Here is the deal. The show is Eastern time zone. Country fans are mostly in the time zone of the voting. West coast people are required to vote without hearing the performances each week. I never vote because when I watch the show, the voting is closed. The Voice gives Country Music an advantage. Non-Country folks can win though.
Jake has a great Garth Brooks type voice, and his performances were very good, but not as strong compared to the 2 women that were great and amazing. The audience at each show was crazy for each Katie performance. Everyone expected her to win.
The voting on these shows is always odd. Adam Lambert took 2nd place to Chris Allen on Idol. Adam Lambert is worth $25 million. Chris Allen is worth $2 million. Who is the winner?
The truth is all the top ten singers on The Voice are all gifted. Good for Jake.
I don't GET some of the ones he beat out...on one had some will say they didnt expect to win and are happy for Jake...then a few seconds later they start talking about how this coach or that one told them they got Rooked. Thats just kind of a cheap trick...Katy. Myself I ENJOYED Jake the most. That's how I judge who's music I will buy.
