The Peakys had a long journey to Portadown, we were invited by Ballygan Farm to sample their fresh milkshakes on the way up (see below for details).
Unfortunately or fortunately (depending on how you see it) the front left suspension broke in the car on the way there so the Matchday vlog wasn’t to be.
Being the vloggers that we are we had a backup in place for a rainy day. We had previously went to the Riverside Stadium in Drumahoe and recorded so to keep up with the videos I’ve edited the footage for y’all.

Great vlog, It brings back memories of my old Alma Mater as a fan, Grosvenor Park, now houses. I had my best ever day in football there May 1963, a league title decider Distillery 4 Linfield 2 .

I remember the glens winning the league there think I still have a video off the winning goal and me has a young pup jumping on scott youngs back 😂
Sad to see the place like that. The new stand made it a real quality Irish league ground.

I didn’t have time to go around everything unfortunately. Was heading over to the brandywell after and it was getting dark too.

Amazing vlog, quite a different one. I live near that abandoned stadium in Derry/Londonderry. In 2018 we got a very bad storm witch made the flood. On Saturday I might go down to the stadium because of this video lol

Great to see the Riverside never got to see a game there, such a shame the ground is derelict - looked like a decent set up

To me if sport ni give them £800,000 surely they should have done due diligence and risk assessing. What a waste of money. Gutting looking round the place.

think i only got to the riverside 1 maybe 2 times and i loved it. everyone was so welcoming and friendly. is it easy to get into or did you have to sneak in as id love to take a trip up and have a roam around it. love abandoned places, and my wee girl would love it aswell
Was easy to get in but the official line on this from institute is not to enter as it’s trespassing.

Remember going to drumahoe. Tidy wee stadium but terrible pitch. Aye cudnt get insurance because of sufficient flood defence.

Tickets for that game are out now on harps website I got mine last night. Sad the condition of riverside I used to enjoy going there every January when derry used to play stute during our pre season for the billy kee memorial cup.

The roads are a total mess in NI . I thought I’d broke my suspension springs at Templepatrick, I must have hit 3 potholes in a row in Templepatrick on the the main road from Belfast to the international airport .
My car is on its last legs but hitting a pot hole just sped up the death process

And just a word on the knotweed casement park was full of it they got rid of it but it has to be done by specialists at a fair cost I would imagine
From the outside looking in it just appears that they were not really given any substantial help by any of the relevant bodies. Even now the ground could be saved.

Insurance was a big issue aswell but I don't get it either surely they could build a bank around the ground to protect it from the river and go 3g as you say, they did get 250k from uefa after the flood. The 800k was government money aswell to build the stadium such a terrible waste and no doubt to much red tape.
They weren’t allowed to build flood defences apparently following the flooding, possibly to do with protecting wildlife.
And they then couldn’t get insurance.

Honestly couldn’t afford it, flights are a joke and I don’t fancy the bus and ferry option. Used to go over years ago and have told the wean I will get him over the water for a game at Celtic and Sunderland in the future.

its not the flooding that directly wrecked it its the fact the flooding brought Japanese knot weed with it that grows really quickly and is nearly impossible to get rid off as its a very quick growing plant
Yeah, I did say that in the vlog, though surely an artificial pitch would have been a logical way to deal with the situation plus flood barriers from the faughan?

No, got demolished a few year ago and turned into an open space/park.
I had been down through work and was gutted that it had gone.
@@ThePeakys ah feck! Would have been a great video. You should try get a trio too Dalymount Park before she’s demolished. They already started some demolition where the away fans have sat since 2011. I think the stadium is due too be demolished next year.

@@ThePeakys yeah it’s been a bit of a disaster with planning in recent years and there has been multiple delays. Original plans where 10,500, 8,000 and now it’s 6,000. Cost of materials going up so the money allocated for the construction doesn’t go as far. There was an objection from Tesco and Shelbourne FC pulled out of the ground share. Despite all it seems too be going ahead 😅
