One of my favorite things about Legendary Marvel is how each hero and villain has a set of cards that both fits them thematically and synergizes well when you collect a bunch of that character in your deck. There are so many good examples it's hard to pick a favorite. For instance Daredevil has cards that say make a blind guess at the cost of the top card on your deck and if you guess correctly you can draw it. By itself that effect is ok, but then he combines it with a card that allows you to put a card on top of your deck so you know for sure what it is. Fun! :) Or Black Widow who rescues bystanders for free, giving you extra points at the end of the game. But then that combos with her cards that give one extra Attack per bystander you've rescued. Sweet! Deadpool is maybe the funniest character. He's got the card that gives a villain a bystander with a line about Abomination being a good babysitter, and the card Oddball that gets a bonus for every odd cost card you played. Good stuff. Really it's hard to go wrong specializing in a given character in this game, they all do well if you take a bunch of their cards in your deck.
Let me start by saying that I have played Legendary literally hundreds of times, it is my favorite deck-builder, my favorite solo game and one of my favorite games period. I agree with your assessment of the Fantastic Four, except for Mr. Fantastic he works well even without the others. My top hero missing from your list is without a doubt Nightcrawler. He allows for so much flexibility from turn to turn and his rare is a game-changer.
Cyclop's Unending Energy can also be used when you choose to discard a card. This way you can discard it to bring his common cards into play and the unending energy returns to your hand. It's a powerful combo.
I love Black Widow, Daredevil, Jean Grey, Rogue, Silver Surfer, Invisible Woman, Wolverine (X-Men), Iron Man, Star-Lord, Gamora, Spider-Woman, the Scarlet Spider, Iceman, Iron Fist, Moon Knight... So many great, thematic hero cards in this game! It's really hard to narrow it down.
Black Widow is a game winner if you manage to rescue a lot of bystanders. I love the Guardians of the Galaxy set. Silver Surfer works great in just about any team. Wolverine (base game) is excellent too: his attacks aren't huge, but the card draw brings out more and more of them. It's like one of his flurry of claw attacks. I beat Galactus once with just him and Drax.
My favorite top 10 right now: 10: Magik 09: Scarlet Spider 08: Daredevil (MK) 07: Shang-Shi 06: Bullseye 05: Domino 04: Star-Lord 03: Kingpin 02: Black Panther 01: Beast (Illuminati) There's tons of other caracters whom I really like! (Agent Venom, Cap (1941), Ultron, Forge, Ice-man, Jean Grey, Prof X, Wolverine (Both X-Force and X-Men), Black Widow, Iron Man, Cloack and Dagger, (Lady) Thor, Invisible Woman, Drax, Blade, Moonknight and so on.. What is your updated version Tom? I'm curious what is left of your top 10 nowadays :)
I find Hulk is the character you take if you want everyone to lose. You do some nice extra damage, but then you cripple every other player at the table with wounds making it impossible to win except against the easiest of masterminds.
Draffut2003 but hulks 'boss' (a word i use with my dad to name the highest costing card for someone) compared to The Things, (for every green fist, get 3 attack) is just weird because hulk is much stronger than the thing. Hulk is only limitted to 10 attack. Nevertheless, i wouldnt turn up my nose at that.
Tom, the rules for Thor's rare card means you can use any combination of recruit as attack, ie you have 10 recruit, you can use it all 10 on attack, or 6 recruit and 4 attack, ect. I love Thor! Especially with Silver Surfer.
wall crawl is an ability that is not exlained on the card itself..for all cards with "wall crawl" , in the turn you acquire them, you can put them on the top of your deck..so you can make use of them immediately after the turn you acquired them...
Domino is my favourite. Surprised Iceman didn't make your list Tom! He'd make mine. I think The Thing works well with other heroes too (especially Hulk).
Hulk smash! Spider-Man pffft. I'm amazed how simple small decks of cards can be so thematic, and how each villain plot can be so different. It's a game that makes sense. The mechanics (manipulate cards, hit points, combos da de da) seem limited, but they are somehow oh so not. Brilliant game. Buy it and all the variants and expansions.
I like Heroes that work well even if they don't get optimal partners. I also play with all expansions through X-MEN on random except Spider-Man: Homecoming or deadpool, and there are *still* some I have yet to see. (It is my favorite game though, and has remained so since the release of the Secret Wars sets where it overtook MageKnight, with over 70 plays.) 1. Kitty Pryde 2. The original Captain America 3. Elsa Bloodstone 4. The Captain and the Devil 5. Daredevil (Dark City) 6. Moon Knight 7. time travelling Jean Grey 8. Angel 9. Cloak and Dagger 10. Domino (You won't see Proxima Midnight or Thanos here in spite of their individual utility because I don't count villians as Heroes.) :)
I play a lot of Legendary solo. My favorite character to play with is Black Widow. Her cards allow you to rescue a bunch of Bystanders and then turn them in to Attack points. There have been times that I got 18-20 attack in a turn from 1 or 2 cards because of her.
It is really powerful if you add in a way to get rid of your junk cards too, so you're just rescuing/drawing, and every turn doing more and more damage. X-Force Wolverine, for example. Jean Grey is great with Black Widow, too. Angel would be up there as well.
looking forward to getting this,it seems to be out of stock everywhere at the moment though. Do you have any recommendations for Marvel Dice Master teams that work well together?
Fun list. I think Mr Fantastic is pretty strong by himself. That villains set looks fun, I don't have that or Dark City, unfortunately. Got GOTG for Christmas - yet to play it, but definitely will. I like Hulk, Rogue, Mr Fantastic myself. Also like Gambit, a lot, even if he's not the most powerful I enjoy his "Stacking the deck", feel.
I got a combo of Forge + Domino + Wolverine (X-force). Domino's top card let me get the other two top cards, and I drew my entire deck every turn for 30+ attack, 20+ recruit. Game over.
Deadpool's 'Oddball'. The fact that you get quite the amount of cards worth either the assortment of 1,3,5,7 or 9 makes it a beast. Hulk, is quite op. He's great for heavy bashing, but not many combos. Captain America and Nick Fury. Shit.
Angel... I love Angel but even I can admit that he is quite broken. With only a few Angel cards, you can draw almost your entire deck. Combine Angel with Cyclops, and it gets disgusting.

I am impatiently waiting for the top ten heroes from sentinels of the multiverse!
My favorite top 10 right now:

Yeah, you’re right! I personally hate Hulk! Those wounds for everyone isn’t worth it.
@@renaudbonneville Human Torch runs a wound strat much more efficiently with almost as much output.
Really like this idea of short top 10s from you Tom.
Nightcrawler is the auto include for me. Love that teleport! Bamf!
My favorite is angle he combos off for himself nicely

I' d love for him to do an update on that one! :)
Domino is my favourite. Surprised Iceman didn't make your list Tom! He'd make mine. I think The Thing works well with other heroes too (especially Hulk).
Great assessment of the Legendary “heroes” Tom. Will you be updating this list after the releases of Secret Wars, Civil War, X-Men, etc.?
Hulk smash! Spider-Man pffft. I'm amazed how simple small decks of cards can be so thematic, and how each villain plot can be so different. It's a game that makes sense. Domino and Forge Combo is Deadly and one of my Favorite ones to use!
I like Heroes that work well even if they don't get optimal partners. I agree. Combo her with Spider Man I think that is the most powerful combo in the game. And the cheapest

Jean Grey is great with Black Widow, too. Angel would be up there as well.
An upto date one of these would be great

*cough* shit as in amazing. *cough*
i Micro all characters without a team is more single, than like fantastic four. silver surfer is like that too.
My favorite is wolverine. along with sidekicks, (draw two cards and put it back to the sidekick stack) the boss card is amazing.
Angel... I love Angel but even I can admit that he is quite broken. With only a few Angel cards, you can draw almost your entire deck. Combine Angel with Cyclops, and it gets disgusting.
What I love is how thematic that team-up is since they were both members of the original X-Men team. Naturally, they're used to working together.
Doc Ock is amazing. I always want him in every game I play especially if I have another sinister 6 in play
Only have small expansions, but want dark city for Cable! Wasn't sold on villains but you may have changed my mind.
1. Star Lord
2. Gamora
3. Captain America
4. Hulk
5. Thor
6. Ironman
7. Nick Fury
8. Drax
9. Black Widow
10. Wolverine
Groot is one of my favorites. I haven't played with Dark City or Villains though...
You just gave me the idea to partner up Spider woman and Daredevil. :D
Will you be doing a Top 10 for Dice Masters? :D
I think rouges copy powers is amazin
We need an updated version of this video 😂😂😂
To answer Hulk vs Drax the answer is Hulk
Anyone know what sleeves he's using? They look similar to ulta-pro matte but without the insignia.
They are official Legendary sleeves. Sourced from Legion, released by Upper Deck.
I actually think Surfer is fine with other heroes besides the FF
I think rogue is really good too
I like wolverine personally. You just keep drawing cards. I love it! I like deadpool more, though.
The Hulk. The Hulk would win.
Why does he say money? It's recruitment...not even money related at all
+Caleb DesJardins
You spend points to get the heroes you want. You spend money to get the character you want.
It's the same thing.
You value cards weird
for the love of god, stop saying money
