Thanks for another great review! Regarding the Kitty Pride card, I don't think she prevents a person from defeating a villain or mastermind, but rather protects the player from suffering the fight effect.
I came here to say the same thing. While many Masterminds have Fight effects that reward the player, there are Masterminds whose Fight effects are really bad and you definitely want to cancel them. Apocalypse is one, for sure! So it's completely thematic that Apocalyptic Kitty Pryde can cancel Apocalypse's bad Fight effects.
For a guy who has constantly said how much of a Legendary fan he is, acting as if Apocalyptic Kitty Pride's "Untouchable" card is bad doesn't make sense. It cancels the Fight effect of a Mastermind, many of which aren't positives for the heroes. There are of course Fight effects that do benefit the heroes, but her card is a counter for the multitude that don't.
Played a solo game with Spiderman, Symbiote Suit Spiderman and Ultimate Spiderman. What they did to Galactus should be illegal. Wasn't even a challenge.
I'd be more than okay with an expansion that just adds "more stuff" without new mechanics... Reuse the old keywords, give us the 'regular' version of characters. That being said, I preordered this set and will do so for EVERY Legendary set as long as they are made. It's a great game whether we get a third Wolverine like Old Man Logan, or alternate version 'Apocalyptic' Kitty Pride, or just plain old Jubilee and Hank Pym Ant-Man
So many regular characters left to be added and we continue to get rehashes of existing ones. yes Miles Morales is different than peter Parker, but it's still another spider man. Where is Wasp, Antman, Luke cage, Dr. Doom? There are so many more heroes to add without using these alternate realities and what not. Also don't even get me started on the "Booster" pack cards no one can get due to the fact they were in those Marvel 3D trading cards. A "rep" from Upperdeck on boardgamegeek said monthes ago that they would be offered outside the trading card packs, but no official word from Upperdeck yet.
Correct me if I'm wrong but If a card has more than one symbol Im assuming you have to have played both in order to use them? So that one card you showed for amor where you defeat a mastermind for free you have to have played 2 hulk punches and 2 wolverine symbol card to use the ability? I only ask this cause I just started playing legendary and this is the first I'm seeing a card with two or more symbols on it. Thanks
+Andrej Vlajic I know you said this a while ago but I would recommend getting Dark City before any other expansion, and get the 3 small expansions before Secret Wars
I'm not sure if he knew this, but this expansion works with BOTH Legendary Marvel & Villain. If Tom already mentioned it, I apologize in advance. Edit: It integrates with Villains, but it isn't the expansion for it.
I just like using the ambition cards as extra Mastermind Tactics not to play as the mastermind its fun to try and fight a mastermind and have to defeat him like six or more times
After adding this expansion, have you added the sidekick hero cards to all your games? Or only when heroes with the "gain a sidekick" ability is chosen to play? Thanks in advance
+Epyeon Uchiha You're supposed to add it to all your games, and I would. It keeps you from wasting recruitment when you have 2 left, and because it's one use only doesn't unballance things. I won't play without it now.
Where is Beast?! We need him to play the original x-men. Was hoping they would include him with the Illuminati, though i would rather see him with the x-men symbol.
I won't be picking this or secret wars Vol 2 because they feel to random and chaotic now both in theme and game play. There are a small fraction of cards that I would want like Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Captain Britain but most of the cards in these games I haven't herd of and don't care for. I was never a big fan of the Marvel Universe mixing together as it makes the smaller characters seem less special however it did grow on me with the movies bringing all these superheroes together in a interesting way. However, I think this is going way to far by bringing multiple realities together in a very chaotic way. I would also say that another big reason that I don't like these expansions is that the art style is very different from each other with some of these cards. I know that in the old sets they had different artists doing all the cards but it is a lot more noticeable now and it just turns me off from the whole thing.

+Josh Walton Was just about to post this, a lot of the "Fight" effects on cards can have terribly negative consequences, she helps you to avoid those.

+DarthEd77 Yup, canceling the Fight effect does not prevent defeating the villain.
Very thematic, really. She can make an ally intangible.

I agree with Josh, that would be the correct reading of the card. It's pretty clear cut.

So many board games and figures! I love it!
Is it more worth to get this as a expansion or should I buy Dark City first?

+Max Justice This basically means that they stopped focus on Villians expansions.
I'm a bit stuck on the whole playing style of the Mastermind... can somebody explain?
I got this and there a lot of blank cards just wondering if you know what there used for
I knew The Secret Cabal founders were up to no good. ;)
I just like using the ambition cards as extra Mastermind Tactics not to play as the mastermind its fun to try and fight a mastermind and have to defeat him like six or more times
So now, all six members of the illuminati are in the game!
Yay...
(Edit: I guess seven if you count black panther)

Didnt know there were difrent box arts for this expansion
+Max Justice Upperdeck store? Then only America/Canada is lucky with those couse they dont ship Europe and rest of the world...
Do you read comics, Tom?

He's in the X-men expansion
