Maybe the Rock, and others should comp The Brahma's fans airline tickets to fly to St. Louis. Also why didn't they try to get a high school football stadium, or a minor league baseball park?
It really is wild that the UFL didn't try to get a stadium near San Antonio to host a game. My only guess would be that they didn't want to open negotiations with a stadium to host a game for the Brahmas when they still have to figure out where the Panthers and Roughnecks are playing.
I checked the schedule for The San Antonio Missions baseball team, and they have a home opening series that weekend. Probably high school stadiums are out because of alcohol sales. Now my main question is why couldn't they shuffle the schedule around to give San Antonio 5 home games?
I do think it's weird that they couldn't find enough space for 5 home games. We have seen in the past teams have a bunch of home games within a short time frame so you can't even use the argument of "we don't want 4 home games to be in a 5 week span." All I know is that I hope this is the least time the UFL has this issue, first with Michigan losing out of a potential home-field advantage because of Ford Field scheduling issues and now this.
@@ZombPhoxUFL Thankfully Birmingham swept Michigan in regular season so that problem was adverted. Now I do think had Michigan got to host the USFL Conference Championship Game, at least 5 college stadiums would've been up for option.
The league definitely could've also found a stadium near San Antonio to play at. While I understand that neutral site games usually have terrible attendance (look at the USFL games in '22 and '23 that didn't feature a home team) I think they could have used this as an opportunity to test the waters of a city that could get an expansion team in the future.
It’s concerning that the league thought they had to play the extra game in St. Louis to pad the attendance numbers instead of one of the two other Texas markets. Probably should have been Arlington. All the teams practice there anyway.
I agree. There were multiple better options than playing the game in St. Louis, a stadium near SA, Houston (but the UFL doesn't know where the Roughnecks are playing yet), and Arlington like you said.
Kinda just goes to show that they don't really care about the Brahmas in San Antonio much like any other team that is not the Battlehawks. Attendance is a problem because of stuff like this. The fact that these cities don't bother promoting or letting their communities know that these teams even exist. The fact that the failed UFL of the early 2010s was so much better attendance-wise is embarassing.
I also really don't like how there is a decent amount of people on places like X and Reddit who think that this is a good decision just because of the boosted attendance for one game. If the UFL wants to stick around they need to start having no issues in regards to team schedules and home availability, as you had the issue with Michigan and the potential home playoff game last year and now SA losing a home game.
I'm a BattleHawks fan and don't really have a problem with this. I don't know what's going on in San Antonio that would force a Brahmas game to be moved out of town, but the second the league announced the game was moved to St. Louis, I was of the mind that they might as well play both BattleHawks-Brahmas games in STL. Anyway, the NFL has a history of doing this, mostly in response to natural disaster like Katrina or SoCal wildfires (ironically, San Antonio was also involved in one of these). Also, Texas is famous for having high-quality high school football stadiums. Couldn't the league have worked out a one-game deal with one of these schools?
My guess is that the league didn't want to start having discussions about where to have the Brahmas play an extra game while they are trying to figure out where Michigan and Houston are playing.
UFL catering to STL (yes they carry the league in attendance) and as someone who lives in Texas. A 4-8 hour drive is nothing to us. We'd travel for it if it was still in Texas. BUT the only reason they want it in STL is JUST SO they can pad their attendance numbers and make it look good on tv. I just hope this increases the rivalry between my Brahmas and the battle chickens. Oh and you hit the Mark when CASTing that dig to that other youtuber lol
The rivalry is definitely going to get better! The Battlehawks taking that home game is going to make all the Brahmas fans hate the Battlehawks even more! I do definitely see this move as an attendance stat pad for the league, and I assume you also saw that terrible tweet a certain other TH-camr put out 😂!
@@Fourmath I honeslty believe the battle chickens will put up a fight. But the last time my Brahmas came stampeding into the dome. We showed them why we're The XFL Conference Champs! 🤘🏽🐂
Especially since we know that there is a huge group of potential fans as we saw the Commanders of the AAF have great crowds and having the Brahmas lose a home game will hurt potential growth for sure.
Does the Alamodome have a scheduling conflict that is causing the Brahmas to have only 4 games, to a point where they can't re-schedule? Let's say a concert?
Mainly because the UFL doesn't hold exclusive rights or first dibs on stadium dates since they are still a new league. Just look at last year with Michigan not being able to host the USFL Conference Championship game if they had won the conference because Ford Field already had stuff going on.
Again the UFL ownership blow it. They could have turned lemons into lemonade by picking a potential expansion team. Oklahoma City had the 3rd best TV rating for the UFL. So why not pick a city like Oklahoma City which could be either an expansion city or a relocation city.
I agree, they could've used this opportunity to test the waters of a potential expansion market like you said, and instead are just giving an extra game to St. Louis to bolster the leagues average attendance.
It does suck but the Battlehawks does draw well even though i think their fanbase is so sufferable it would be a money maker for a league that needs to survive for the future of Spring Football
thanks for the update

I would've made a neutral site game (ignoring attendance)

This is stupid. I'm a BattleHawks fan and this is stupid. How are the Brahmas going to build a fan base if they're playing fewer games at home?

we hosting the final 4 in 2025 which means we had to give up a home game
The article the UFL provided just mentions that the Alamodome is going to be really busy with many different kinds of events in 2025.
Final 4
Bunch of random rodeos and concerts its packed
How does this even happen?

Another 30K+ game definitely won't hurt the league... I just hope it doesn't end up screwing over San Antonio.
@@ZombPhoxUFL they should give San Antonio 6 home games for next year to make it even with the Battle hawks
