Pit bull owners will go to great lengths to defend their dogs, but the facts speak for themselves. The propensity for violence has been bred into the dog. I don't care how lovingly they were raised. Any dog can bite for whatever reason. It's their ferocity and the bite strength that does maximum damage to it's victims. They have a bad rep for a reason. Even with mine being so easy going I was always vigilant because I know what the breed is capable of. The problem is exactly what you pointed out. All dogs may bite at some point and even if a pit bull isn't more likely to bite, it's jaw strength and the way they bite will make it much worse if it does. So many pit bull owners treat them like any other dog simply based on the fact they haven't shown aggression in the past. That's unacceptable and a big part of their bad reputation. I would have no problem owning another one but like every pit bull owner should, I would control it at all times as if it were a deadly aggressive dog ready to attack at any time. Too many people who are neglectful or abusive get pitbulls. However, their bite capacity is extremely strong so you have to be careful. I don't back banning any dog, but because of what they can become, you need to be careful and, especially if the dog had already been aggressive, there needs to be set rules specifically for known aggressive dogs where the owners punishment is more severe.
My thoughts exactly. And I'll add that some pit bull (and some other breeds as well) owners choose the pit, consciously or unconsciously, for that reputation, out of fear of and/or the desire to intimidate other humans. Also reflected in the names they give their dogs.

But, but we all knew that and never just let them even rome around outside without supervision. So it’s up to the pet owners to know the temperament of your pets period.
PRECISITION: Pitbull are NOT an aggressive race. It's a DANGEROUS race. They attack rarely, but when they attack they do a lot of damage. On the opposite there is Chihuahua. They are an aggressive race but not dangerous. They attack often but deal very low damage.
There was just too much laughing going on from the people sitting in the audience / gallery. If this case was on Judge Judy she would have said, HEY BE QUIET! There's nothing funny in here and if you all keep laughing I'll clear this courtroom!
I was little and lived in Singapore for 5 years and the same thing happened to my miniature schnauzer we were walking her home from the shops and out of nowhere a pitbull comes out of his house and starts strangling my dog i was with my mom i was so frightened and scared i was screaming and crying thank goodness she was ok in the end because someone saved her from getting killed it could have been worse but pitbulls should not exist anywhere
In 1991, Singapore passed a law about Pit Bulls that requires sterilization, microchipping, insurance in the amount of not less than $100 000, and in public places a dog must be kept on a short leash and in a muzzle. I don't know when the attack on your dog occurred, but I hope your mom reported the attack and the owner was punished. The list of countries that have banned or restricted Pits is long. Most countries do not deny science/genetics like the US does.
The owners of the pitbull are disgusting people... He says his sister "put the dog up for adoption" NO, You Didn't!! Basically, You sent that dog to be murdered! That pitbull cannot be placed for adoption especially after attacking another dog. It's such a shame & I honestly feel very bad for that pitbull. I am hoping someone else steps in to save him somehow.
Did you think you had a chance at prevailing in this case, coming in there...? I did but.....it doesn't matter what you think, right- Yeayea no way, no way.....**continues his questioning** Douglas strikes again 😂😂😂
I happen to have a 40# bird dog that can jump a 6 foot privacy fence so it is possible for a dog to jump a 4 foot fence or even climb a fence if it a smaller dog.
Of course your dog's gonna follow you 🙄 instead of leaving it on the car roof I would've asked the lady in the car that stopped to open her window just enough to pass the little dog thru at least then it would have been safe
most Pit Bulls could jump a 4 ft fence. Aggression is genetic. If you have an aggressive dog, he'll have that tendency forever.....training aggression out of an aggressive dog is like training red hair out of a person.
I'm a professional dog trainer. Pit bulls are not inherently aggressive. In fact, the most aggressive breed of dog is a chihuahua followed by the Dachshund. Pit pulls do however, need strong leadership and training (all dogs need training).
I know that dog liability / responsibility varies by state, BUT I was a little surprised the judge didn't comment on the plaintiff's dog being OFF LEASH when it was on top of someone's car.
I am a pitbull owner and I go HARD for my dogs… HOWEVER… it’s the responsibility of any pet owner to have control of their dogs at all times and if unfortunate things happen… Take responsibility. ALL dogs are hunters at some point. Btw… Pit bulls have the reputation for the jaw strengthen, involuntary jaw locking mechanism, and media attention. Face it, they make great stories. FYI- Lab dogs have the highest bite rate and worse temperament statistically. Also, a variety of breeds are on the DO NOT insure list. For those breeds, you can get dog liability insurance- A separate rider for those dogs or any with bite history. I hope this helps anyone out there.

When JM started her ….reply…😉… to the defendant’s stupid statement about ‘what dog antagonized the other’…….. We ALL love you for these moments!!! 😂😂😂 By the way: The defendant is just an absolute JERK! 🖕 And also: I intensely ❤ one of my best canine girlfriends ever: ‘Bella’, who is a huge American Staffordshire Terrier/Pitbull mix and one of the sweetest, most obedient dogs EVER!! So I’m definitely NOT ‘anti-pitbull’ A͟N͟D that sweetheart of a dog IS and WILL ALWAYS BE under our control, regardless of whatever the circumstances might be! Because keeping control over your dog can PERFECTLY go together with loving her and caring for her to the max!! Some examples (*) - ALWAYS check the surroundings when you leave your home (like: who is out there and where are they, what are possible escape points (when in a new environment) and so on…) - ALWAYS check the leash, doors, fences, locks and so on. (some things DAILY, some more on a REGULAR INTERVAL…… just use your brain!! (also: is there any DIGGING that could lead to an escape from the closed off area our dog moves around in?)) - Just be aware overall that you do NOT have a tiny ‘bug’ (like a Yorkshire Terrier of a Maltezer) with you and that your dog, as cute as they are, can cause SEVERE DAMAGE to both animals AND PEOPLE! (All you need to do is imagine that YOUR ‘Canine-baby’ grabs a ‘Human Baby’….. 😱 NOBODY ON THIS PLANET wants to experience that HORROR, I don’t care HOW TOUGH AND ‘BAD’ an owner might present themselves to be!) ❗️ (*) = I’m NOT trying to tell off ANYONE in some annoying and pedantic way, but rather list a few examples, with respect for anyone’s personal situation and methods. These examples are some of the things that I myself always check and that help me keeping my focus on the ‘outside world’ TOO, when dealing with (ANY of) our dogs (but ESPECIALLY with the bigger ones, like the Pitbulls/Pitbull-mixed-breeds). I do this JUST to be helpful and who knows, maybe I remind some other responsible dog owner to check something that has to do with ‘keeping control over your dog’, that they just might have never thought of before and that they can implement in their routine too. 😃 𝙋𝙎: 𝙎𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙩. I had a Pitbull…staffordshire terrier for 14 years. He was loving, loyal, protective, and fun. But he did not like other dogs. I would never have walked him without a leash or let him run free. I was surprised when my son got married and his wife had an 8 pound tiny dog. But, they lived together, slept together, etc. He would still try to eat the other dog’s food. So Pitbull owners who are irresponsible do the breed no good.
Absolutely. Hire trainer or if he's cheap he can simply do a search online and find specialists on Pit Bulls with free tutorials. I've seen them. Judges never offer this advice.
Pit bulls were actually bred as nanny dogs back in the day. It IS how you raise them. However, you should always take precautions with ANY animal. Because they are just that, animals. My pitty is the SWEETEST baby I’ve ever had the honor of caring for. But she is still leashed in public and we make sure she doesn’t get out. We also don’t take her around a bunch of dogs and she is as happy as can be. A lot of these cases are people that completely neglect their dog. Smaller dogs are way more aggressive but no one bats an eye because they don’t do as much damage. What people don’t understand is EVERY dog should be trained not to be aggressive because that’s how shit happens. Like the judge always says, it isn’t the dog’s fault for acting like a dog. It’s the owners responsibility to make sure that dog is in line. Train your damn dogs no matter what breed, always leash them, make sure they can’t get out and you’ll have no problem. My girl is 11 and not one incident has occurred. I will FOREVER defend her.
The only positive thing i can say about the defendant is at least he didn't come out of the courtroom and say he was STILL in the right. That poor lady being chased all over the street, though... and people ~ don't EVER leave your dog on top of a car... crikey!
The way the defendant basically laughed while she said her dogs head was in his dogs mouth disgust me. He shouldn't own any dogs with that attitude! Clearly not responsible enough to own a pit.
I have a pit bull... she is goofy and plays with frogs, cats etc never hurt one but i wouldn't trust that and turn her loose on her own. She's playful but doesn't know her own strength. It's not the dogs fault. You have to take precautions because they can be unpredictable.
Its always the owner, not the pitbull. But how many getman shephard, husky, doberman cases are out yhere compared to pittbull. The fact is, they are unpredictable, aggressive , and much more dangerous than most dogs.
I have experience w pitbulls and they are the sweetest when they know you, but if they don't, watch out! They naturally go into attack mode w small dogs. When my Yorkiepoo was a puppy, he was so small he could get out of the gate (fit btwn the bars). The pitbull boxer mix across the street tried to kill him everytime. He would literally jump the fence to try to get Bobby. We put up chicken wire to keep him in and the pitbull out. The same pitbull used to attack me everyday walking home from school. When he snapped at my leg and put a hole in my jeans, my Dad put the fear of God into the dog and owner 😂
The poor little doggie, was probably so terrified when the pitbull was attacking her. AND also the poor pitbull, it breaks my heart. He did what comes naturally to him. It's the POS Defendan't fault, for not securing the dogs in his yard. And now that pitbull is wondering where his people are, why he is where he is. UGH!!!!!

This defendant wouldn't admit that ten witnesses for the plaintiff were enough. It's only their word. But the plaintiff also never answered the judge's question about showing the defendant the vet bills. I can think of several possible reasons and neither of them say anything good about the plaintiff.
Pitbulls have neurological problems you can give them the best training by the best dog trainers with all the best equipment, but a pit will still be a pit. I owned 2 German sheppards. I had 6 foot fences containing the dogs in the large back yard, all it took was one day my Sheppard chased a squirl and jumped the fence to get that squirl. We ended up putting 3 feet of concrete below the fence so they couldn't dig out and we put electric fencing on top of the fence to make sure they couldn't jump the fence or dig a hole under the fence because I want to make sure my dogs can't get out and get hurt by accident.
As far as pitbull's are concerned, if raise from a puppy then it is certainly the owner and not the dog that determines the temperament. While animals have diverse personalities, they can be trained to behave in a certain way and this applies to all breeds and all breeds big or small candy aggressive. The problem with pitbull's isn't that they are inherently more aggressive than other dogs, but that because of their biology they are more dangerous when they're aggressive. If a pitbull bites, it locks on and hangs on and shakes where other dogs might bite and let go. It's almost like being grabbed by a crocodile but then goes into a decimal. That's what makes it more dangerous, not so much the temperament as the biology. If you're going to own a pitbull and you need to be responsible enough to be extra vigilant, but unfortunately most dog owners do not fit that bill. Apologies for any dictation mistakes. I am dictating this message quickly before I eat but I'm pretty sure the general just is conveyed.

I hate when pet owners don't take responsibility what would the defendant do if his dog killed a child
He would blame it on the kid .
Perfect example of why everyone shouldn't be allowed to have pets or children. Unfortunately, they are allowed to.

Every last pit bull owner will swear up and down that they got the sweetest, most gentlest pit bull on the planet. And of course the popular, “It’s all in how they’re raised,” line. Yeah, ok. Enjoy your pit bull while I walk in the other direction.

I am so sorry about what happened, thank you for taking care of your sweet baby.
WoW..the defendant showed no remorse😡
nobody needs 4 or 5 pit bulls
I had a female pit mix who was our inside house protector. She was completely anti social, as we also had a beagle Rottweiler mix was a little more relaxed But.
I'm confused by all the laughing from the audience 🤔
Me too! It was very insensitive when she was describing her experience.
Right! Like nothing about this is funny at all
loved how the judge called him out LOL
There was just too much laughing going on from the people sitting in the audience / gallery. If this case was on Judge Judy she would have said, HEY BE QUIET! There's nothing funny in here and if you all keep laughing I'll clear this courtroom!
AGREED!!!!
Well this is not Judge Judy.
I think this is the first one I’ve seen where JM awarded lost wages
Another day we're all here again. Another pitbull case. 😒
DAMN. This is horrifying. The poor lady and dog.
That eye roll at 2:38 is priceless!
😂😂😂😂
The owners of the pitbull are disgusting people... He says his sister "put the dog up for adoption" NO, You Didn't!! Basically, You sent that dog to be murdered! That pitbull cannot be placed for adoption especially after attacking another dog. It's such a shame & I honestly feel very bad for that pitbull. I am hoping someone else steps in to save him somehow.
While humans are forced to suffer the consequences of other people's poor decisions, animals carry even more of the weight of that burden.
Did you think you had a chance at prevailing in this case, coming in there...?
I did but.....it doesn't matter what you think, right-
Yeayea no way, no way.....**continues his questioning**

THAT is NOT a fake injury!!!
Pitbulls are sweet dogs. What's his name? Killer.
That was FUNNY, but true.
And how did he get that name? Was he whelped with a name collar already on? No? So someone gave it to him. Why?
I try to support Pit Bulls, they’re wonderful animals. However bad owners are bad. You must accept responsibility. Sad. The defendant has no remorse.
The defendant testimony is hilarious
11:27 why does JM always slam down peoples phones lol😂
Lol
I happen to have a 40# bird dog that can jump a 6 foot privacy fence so it is possible for a dog to jump a 4 foot fence or even climb a fence if it a smaller dog.
Of course your dog's gonna follow you 🙄 instead of leaving it on the car roof I would've asked the lady in the car that stopped to open her window just enough to pass the little dog thru at least then it would have been safe
He is mistaken, his dog will not be allowed to be adopted after biting, trying to kill another animal.
I hate dog injury cases. I have paid over $5000 for one vet visit for a very, very sick dog. Thank God I was able to afford it.
The law should ban people from owning pitbulls. In my city. I only see poor and homeless people owning them.
most Pit Bulls could jump a 4 ft fence.
I can't stand irresponsible dog owners. 🙄
I can't believe she put her dog on someone SUV and then went to a fence in area. If that dog scratch the SUV she may get sued.
That is simply not true about labs Lol. No need to lie to defend pits.
@@Catloudan Try again...
Insurance won't cover pit bulls and a couple of other breeds. Labs are not one of them. smh

By the way: The defendant is just an absolute JERK! 🖕
And also:
I intensely ❤ one of my best canine girlfriends ever: ‘Bella’, who is a huge American Staffordshire Terrier/Pitbull mix and one of the sweetest, most obedient dogs EVER!!
Some examples (*)
- ALWAYS check the surroundings when you leave your home (like: who is out there and where are they, what are possible escape points (when in a new environment) and so on…)
- ALWAYS check the leash, doors, fences, locks and so on.
(some things DAILY, some more on a REGULAR INTERVAL…… just use your brain!! (also: is there any DIGGING that could lead to an escape from the closed off area our dog moves around in?))
- Just be aware overall that you do NOT have a tiny ‘bug’ (like a Yorkshire Terrier of a Maltezer) with you and that your dog, as cute as they are, can cause SEVERE DAMAGE to both animals AND PEOPLE!
(All you need to do is imagine that YOUR ‘Canine-baby’ grabs a ‘Human Baby’….. 😱
NOBODY ON THIS PLANET wants to experience that HORROR, I don’t care HOW TOUGH AND ‘BAD’ an owner might present themselves to be!)
❗️
(*) = I’m NOT trying to tell off ANYONE in some annoying and pedantic way, but rather list a few examples, with respect for anyone’s personal situation and methods.

The defendant or his sister should have gotten a trainer for the dog. Trainers can make a difference.
Neither should be pet owners. Dogs can be trained, most times. People's character, or lack there of, is a different story.
Absolutely. Hire trainer or if he's cheap he can simply do a search online and find specialists on Pit Bulls with free tutorials. I've seen them. Judges never offer this advice.

That bulldog owner is unbelievable 😮
That poor lady being chased all over the street, though... and people ~ don't EVER leave your dog on top of a car... crikey!
When I see a yard with dogs that I'm concerned about, I turn around and go back.
I walk across the street, if I hear a ferocious barking. Regardless if I'm alone or dog walking.
Is he serious? Lol😅😅😅😅
Defendants wife’s dress is so cute!!!!
The defendant is a liar. What a nightmare😢
Its always the owner, not the pitbull. But how many getman shephard, husky, doberman cases are out yhere compared to pittbull. The fact is, they are unpredictable, aggressive , and much more dangerous than most dogs.
Now why did she have to explain that to his grown ass smdh

He was so sour about losing he had a hard time accepting a free bike lol wtf
The poor little doggie, was probably so terrified when the pitbull was attacking her. AND also the poor pitbull, it breaks my heart. He did what comes naturally to him. It's the POS Defendan't fault, for not securing the dogs in his yard. And now that pitbull is wondering where his people are, why he is where he is. UGH!!!!!
The audience listened to this horrifying situation, and STILL say “it’s the owner. They have a bad rap.”
My 35 pound female pit bull mutt mix has a six FOOT vertical leap.
