Ben Hunt led the NRL in try assists last year Kempy with 30 by the way, and had the highest average try assists per game. I agree defensively his form dropped but still playing outstanding with ball in hand. Also he would be playing halfback in 2026 because Reynolds retires at the end of next season. So 6 in 2025, and 7 in 2026, so not affecting Billy Walters or Blake Mozer at hooker if you're right and Ezra is suspended the whole season.
Also a player achieving 30 try assists in a season has only happened three times in the past ten seasons... Thurston in 2015, Cody Walker in 2021, and Ben Hunt this season. Ben Hunt also did it in three less games then Thurston in 2015 and three less games then Walker in 2021! Hunt last season had the highest average of try assists per game of any player in the last ten seasons! Hardly out of form I reckon
Hunt would on been $950k at the Dragons next season. He dropped $350k. He will never earn that sort of money again. If Broncos don’t win the comp in the next 2 years it will be very sad for him.
