Sharon Griffin at Art in Clay 2019

Ceramic sculpter Sharon Griffin demonstrates how she makes a life sized terracotta head. Her method is a sort of slab building to create a hollow head with no armature, the features are made by building the basic form and then pressing from inside or outside to shape the contours of the face. When finished the pieces are fired to 1280 degrees c.
