A subtle joke is the Emperor Nasi Goring. Nasi Goring is an Indonesian rice dish. Not an emperor, not even Chinese.
And what passed for 'Asian cuisine' at the time when the character was growing up.
Actually it's Nasi Goreng, it means fried rice.

The Louie the fly ad goes back to the black and white Mortein commercial from the late 60's early 70's . Louie has been a household name from then till now . .
You guys should react to the Australia day Lamb ad series, (2014 - 2023) they have a different one each year and they are like mini stories of current Australian issues

My all time favorite was from the '80's. It was for Planters peanuts.
I think it went - "Don't you hate it when you buy a bag of nuts and they're all broken or there's too much salt."
"Well we sell them in a clear plastic bag because at Planters we're proud to show our nuts."
I found the double entendre quite amusing.
Yes we've got a Dingo fence over 5 600 kms long in the Eastern States and a Rabbit proof fence over 3 200 kms long in Western Australia.

The reading writing hotline, iconic. Even though it hasn't been on for years, can resite the whole ad word for word. That said i can resite 90% of thoses ad's word for word.
The Snickers ad is much more compelling when you know that the “hangry” man is an Aussie icon that has been a Home and Away soapie star for 30+ years!

The Aussie beer ads are beyond 😂 Especially the Carlton ads! 😂 The RACQ “Charter Boat” ad is also iconic 😂 So are the Mortein “Louie The Fly” ads. They tried to kill off Louie but had to bring him back as he is an icon in Aussie ad history and we wouldn’t let him be killed off…completely funny and off the wall as the ads are for a poison spray to kill off flys and other insects 😂😂😂
My favourites on here are the Yellow Pages "Not Happy Jan", and the RACQ "Charter Boat".

The Carlton Draught ad was filmed in New Zealand, in one of the Lord of the rings Locations,long before Tolkien was mentioned in those parts.

The "instrumental" is from wagners ring, old norse-myth opera about gods and dragons and stuff. They use it all the time in medieval fantasy films and war movies.

Cordial is a concentrated sweet drink, put cold water in it on a hot day and you're popular. It is made from fruit and sugar, so some don't like it, but there is sugar free made also. We have a black one called Sarsparilla, an aussie native tree. Some hate it, but with soda water in it instead, it's great on hot days or anytime. A while back a comoany made blackcurrant juice, mum bought it for our baby sister. We snaffled it and put fizz in that too. That was yummy, but our sister couldn't keep it for herself, mum had to buy more.
My favourite is "Not Happy Jan". After that commercial, so many Aussies started saying this when we're not happy about something.

Good reaction. There's also the yearly add for Lamb in January each year. Some you won't get as their a bit 'local', but most are just good fun.
The greatest add is the ants pants ,underwear add.

As an Australian, the best add was the “Nasi goring. Also “ not happy jan”. If you went overseas any Australian would have your back if you muttered that sentence!
The cottees cordial ad doesn’t mean much unless you grew up with Cottees cordial ads.
Corn is a nothing flavour until you spruce it up with a knob of butter and a lot of salt n pepper.

14:41 My o;d ute got run into and was written off. So old that it is not recorded. I welded a new front on it and it is on the road again. It did not deserve to die. They become a part of the family.
Every Aussie watching this knows these Ads by heart. I'm not sure about the last one for Cottees cordials, there are far more Iconic versions of that Ad available, but he went with this watered-down (pun intended) version.

The best Aussie adds are not in this compilation......from the coke a cola adds 1960 to 1970's to the Quantas adds featuring superstar athletes, singers and the Australian Youth Choir.....and many more.

we have million Apon millings of rabbits even more rats mice and cats all feral introduced, but the cane toads are the worst they have poison sacks right where you grab them too, a good old favorite is toad golf or toad cricket or even string ball using a toad in place of the ball or t toad where you use a toad as a ball in t ball , lol get this feral cats do micky flips when you shoot them
