I love the honesty from Natalie ... it has to be scary and stressful, leaving something "solid and safe" for something new and unknown. But I have faith that this group can succeed in this new venture. I am not mormon, nor even religious, and I certainly don't mind "blue" humor. But I have found that I really enjoy the work of this group, and love that I can share it with family members.

I agree, I don't remember if it happened after the new people joined or before that, but at some point I noticed an extreme shift in tone and their videos became unfunny to me.
I mean it was always family friendly, but it was also cleverly silly like the Armageddon video or the old professor videos etc.
But now they are not, my kids laughing, but I can't, it's what I call kindergarten humor.

You guys have done a lot of great and amazing things, I'm excited to see what you all come up with.
I'm sure it will be a difficult start, but worth it when you grow.

So many mixed feelings on this. As a creative professional I understand the desire to blaze new trails but running a business, especially in one of the most highly competitive industries; a business that can support 10 people/families in a short amount of time is wildly optimistic.
The best part is that you all are genuinely funny, gifted writers, and performers.
My hope for you all is that you are picked up by a third party like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, IFC, Comedy Central etc. and can use their resources to make great content, thus preserving your creative energy for the things you are really good at: writing, performing etc.
The content coming from JK Studios thus far relies on a cult of personality/loyal fan base mixed with crowdfunding that may be fine for single vloggers but the business model can’t be sustainably stretched to accommodate the cost of living for 10 people long term.
I am rooting for you because I genuinely love your work. Please, for the love of lobster bisque go on Shark tank if you have to, but please, pair up with someone with more resources so you aren’t burning the candle from both ends. We are all cheering you on!

That sounds like a great idea, but I think the point of doing JK studios is to have more creative freedom and I'm pretty sure that getting picked up by a big company like Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu would stifle that freedom more than BYU TV did. Hopefully, with enough work and luck, they'll become the next big name entertainment provider. Until then, I like to have their videos running in the background while I do other things to help up their view count and make them more relevant on the TH-cam algorithm in order to help their dream thrive anyway I can.
Yes! @@madisonreuter4422 I support them in this new venture. I really thought they reason they left BYU was because they had an offer from someone else....or just wanted to finally be able to grow beards. :)
I hope in the interim they are able to make thoughtful, clever content like they did at BYU, even with their limited resources. I hope the most recent content from JK doesn't hurt their chances of being picked up by a bigger group; it doesn't match the quality they were making prior to the split from BYU.
I totally see this too. I'm sure they have some savings from Studio C careers and can enter this with minimal personal debt. But starting anything that can quickly support even one family is hard, so then supporting ten families seems much more difficult.
I think they have enough creative firepower that they could develop something that didn't have to depend on a larger publisher like Netflix, but I do wonder about their business abilities. Do they have capital to get some additional actors (even if part-time)? The tons and tons of equipment for the different types of shows? The day to day managerial costs? I'm sure they are looking through all of this, but I would love to hear they found a trusted investor that could help with capital and business know-how while allowing them general creative freedom.

I've been so afraid to watch this video for the longest time, studio c was my happy place.
(Note: This is kinda long....) It always gave me something to come to on a bad day, and it made me smile and laugh, and really put a small light in my life. When i heard that they were leaving, i kinda slipped into a depression, a feeling came over me that not even their videos could make better...they were leaving!
But when i found out they were starting their own thing....I cried happy tears, and started re-binge watching their videos!! (yes..re!! XD) and I immediately wanted in!! Basically, what i'm try to say is, i am so happy for you guys, and i'm so excited and proud to know that your still shining your light on people who's lives are a little cloudy. Thanks for being such great friends, and for bringing that light into our lives. Love you guys!!! And thanks for everything. Stay safe.

so who is the owner of Studio C? I thought these guys were the ones owning the channel. I'm pretty sure this channel will hit 1 mil subs way quicker than studio C since the main guys are still working together and they have a good reputation. I'm looking forward to see the contents they'll bring in.
Hooman studio c is a tv show actually, they aired through a broadcasting network, they started posting their sketxbes on yt and then got even more famous on there
I'm pretty sure that Matt Meese and Jared Shores are the owners and creators
No, BYU TV owns the series and Jared is the executive producer who works for BYU TV. Head writers and creators usually don't actually own the show they write on, a network does, and here its not different
BYU TV doesn’t own Studio C. It’s similar to how CBS, ESPN, or Fox don’t own the NFL. BYU TV simply owns the rights to air Studio C material, through contracting deals set in place.

Wow! I’m sure you guys won’t see this, with so many comments, but I’m happy for you! I’m sure it was hard for everyone on both sides when you left, but you’ve been at Studio C a long time. My whole family LOVES everyone in the old cast of studio c, and when we found out that they left, I was SO sad but then when I saw JK studios I was SOOOO happy, love u guys, hope ur dreams come true and stay strong ❤️❤️❤️ I’m sure this will turn out AWESOME

Been watching you guys since around 2012? It was something me and my siblings where able to watch together as we went through different struggles, and you know *high school and middle school* and it's so cool to see how much you've all grown, and to see you go from a small group who basically brought props from home to a studio with a set and all this fancy stuff! (very intelligent) You guys have meant a lot for my family, so thank you. you're literally the most amazing, kind, creative intelligent group of people and I'm *so excited* to see what you make!
Studio C has always been great since I subscribed to it in 2014. And I'm sure JK! Studios will be better as the original casts are the ones writing, directing, making them!
However.... I want additional cast, like all your children, your wives and husbands etc (since Whitney and Stephen are married, that wouldn't be problem for them :v). They don't have to read scripts, but just merely in the video :D
