Not sure why Emmy needs American Idol. She’s part of country music royalty and has a beautiful voice of her own.

It's publicity and name recognition. Why did Cassadee Pope go on 'The Voice'? She had already been a signed artist with 3 albums with her band "Hey Monday" and 1 solo album (EP). She did several tours US and world tours with her band, including the Warped Tour and opening for Fall Out Boy throughout their US and World Tour. She released her solo EP and went on a solo tour a couple months before auditioning for the 'The Voice'.

I listened to it and didn’t know it was Willy Nelson son!! All I saw was Emmie with luk .. when I heard the guy start singing I said that sounds exactly like willie Nelson and looked more up n I be dog gone it is willie son!! Sounds just like him!! I personally think that they are following there footsteps and they need to be proud of who they are n what n how much ppl will have respect for them !!

I discovered Lukas a couple of years ago when I saw him perform on a Farm Aid with his Dad and brother. Since then I’ve listened to his past stuff and everything new he does. He’s got it. Emmy, where have you been? Country music has been waiting for you. This performance was the best thing I’ve seen in a while. It lifts the human spirit. Thank you both for sharing your talents. This is the kind of music the world needs.

She doesn't want to sing what her mom and grandma do, she wants to be her own contemporary artist. I'd say her sound isn't even country.
Her anxiety takes over and makes her voice all shaky.. here she must've been in a less anxious state

@@emmakate6518 She's said before that she tends to get nervous and has issues with being confident which is definitely normal. Even though that may halt her during live performances, her studio stuff is amazing. She has a few songs out and they are all really good. Definitely give them a listen if you haven't.

This song was so beautiful!!!! It sounds like an old country song that I grew up with as a Gen X’er back when my state of VA was still considered southern. This song would have played on country radio 70s-2005, maybe? Today, country has turned almost into a techno pop country sound, almost like pop-dance country, but I would also not call it southern rock, unless it’s Chris Stapleton. I’m not saying it’s bad, just not country. We can thank the pop turn to Taylor Swift and now she’s a brand unto herself.
In the south and many parts of America there’s still a wide audience for real country music and all ages still love the real country sound!! I hope we can get a turn back to the old just a bit because it’s relevant, especially today with where we are in America. We already have an abundance of new pop culture, pop stations, Internet pop singers and songs everywhere. Nothing wrong with that, so why not go back to a pure country sound? I will say American Idol fans still seem to vote the most for country singers so why not let them sing as country artists when they are signed???? Just some thoughts from a music artist and music junkie who loves real country too 🙋♀️🎤🎸🪕🎻🎹
