I've been doing a Disney Renaissance marathon out of nostalgia, and boy, when I watched Pocahontas, it brought back happy childhood memories! The animation is spectacular, and the music is stellar, too!
Tarzan, Pocahontas, Peter Pan, Bambi, Lady and the Tramp, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Aristocrats, The Fox and The Hound, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Jungle Book, and The Lion King are just a few of my favorite Disney movies!!!!! Disney is amazing and i love it!!!!
90's had the best of everything dude!! Best Disney movies Best Rap artists Best years of my life. I'm an American Born Southern Girl and 90's kid by the grace of God!!
Oh, that song from Disney's Pocahontas, it is beautiful. Around the riverbend to follow the path that leads you to your dreams. Let those dreams guide you wherever you go. Like the blue fairy and Jiminy Cricket said to Pinocchio, "always let your conscience be your guide."
What I love most about rivers is You can't step in the same river twice The water's always changing, always flowing But people, I guess, can't live like that We all must pay a price To be safe, we lose our chance of ever knowing What's around the river bend Waiting just around the river bend I look once more just around the river bend Beyond the shore where the gulls fly free Don't know what for what I dream the day might send Just around the river bend for me, coming for me I feel it there beyond those trees Or right behind these waterfalls Can I ignore that sound of distant drumming? For a handsome sturdy husband who builds handsome sturdy walls And never dreams that something might be coming? Just around the river bend Just around the river bend I look once more just around the river bend Beyond the shore somewhere past the sea Don't know what for why do all my dreams extend Just around the river bend, just around the river bend Should I choose the smoothest course Steady as the beating drum? Should I marry Kocoum? Is all my dreaming at an end? Or do you still wait for me, dream giver Just around the river bend?
@@Anne-wf1vo What they obviously meant is, majorly, it's people who can't sing very well being clearly edited by computers and making it because of marketing rather than actual talent... Boomer.
@@NostalgicLink First of all, that meme is dead now. Second, there's plenty of people that have great voices. It's just hard to sing a song perfectly, causing them to lose emotion while doing it. Autune comes in handy in such cases.

I was on the road last month with my wife going to her doctor appointment and the girl in the car two lanes over was playing this in her car and singing it. Funny thing is I had just watched Pocahontas the previous night. I also discovered the real Pocahontas is my 11th-great-grandmother on her father's side, Paramount Chief Powhatan.
@jname96 I was excited to find these for about the same reason! I've had the cassette (and can still play them in my car), but I unfortunately haven't been able to find it in years.... It's so great to have the music to listen to again.!
I still have my VHS tapes, and a VCR. (my first one broke, but my boyfriend got me another one) I find I prefer using VHS tapes instead of DVDs when it comes to these classics.
I love this song and its message that you shouldn't be afraid to explore beyond convention; however, now that I'm older, I do find it a bit sad that Pocahontas equates marriage with the end of her dreaming and free-spirited days. True, marriage and children do change one's life, but that doesn't mean her life is over--just changed. For many people, it's (one of) the greatest adventures of all. Not saying she has to agree, but I don't much care for her attitude about it =\
I agree with you, but I think we have to remember that Pocahontas still young - while she might be very mature in some areas, she still has the blinders of youth with her outlook on other things. Also, I think the fact that it was Kucoum whom she was marrying is what makes her nervous. She didn't really know him, but it was obvious that her personality wouldn't mesh well with his. I bet that if she had more freedom in choosing a husband, she might have been more open about marriage.
I am indirectly descended from the real Pocahontas through my late Grandfather Beverly. It is through English-American marriages that occurred during the colonial era.
Pocahontas's physical appearance 1.Tall 2.Slender 3.Beautiful 4.Practically Naked 5.Long Beautiful elegant black hair that goes down to her butt 6.Extremely tan skin 7.Brown eyes 8.Ruby red lips 9.Off the shoulder yellow Native American dress that goes down to her knees 10.Bright blue Native American necklace 11.Red Native tattoo on her right bicep 12.Commando/No underwear 13.Barefeet
I know it's about as historically accurate as saying Joan of Arc was a Russian sniper in WW1 who went home and had 4 beautiful children, but i honestly enjoyed it. The visuals and music, especially.
You can say what you want about the historical accuracy of Pocahontas but you have to admit the score for this film was absolutely breathtaking.
I rlly wish they worked this hard on the actual historical content of this movie
@@judeysaleh9896 I mean its disney... if they were that historically accurate they probably wouldnt have been able to show it to kids
Beautiful film
