    Another amazing video- your camera person is doing great. As your editing person.
    I have heard horror stories about that creature you kept getting video of.
    We call it the Polly Monster.
    The story is this creature floats in streams during the day waiting to steal your gold at night when you sleep.
    If you like I can come up and run security at night.
    I can set a trap and try catching the Polly Monster for you.
    We can torture him with the song from Doc McStuffins until he tells us where all his Gold is.

    It's truly fascinating watching your entire endeavor. You are an inspiration and I hope to, one day, be at this exact level of production. I don't need Snable's or Beet's level of mining. Your setup is a dream. Mad props and hope you get tons of that shiny! :)

    A lesser man would have thrown in the towel on some of those hindrances.....but You are NOT a Lesser Man, Andy. To see you tackle all the obstacles was inspiring and your knowledge is astounding. You know your equipment from the top down. What a pleasure to see you smile when it all started to FLOW. Hoping you have continued progress as you mine for that gold. No one deserves it more than you.

      I certainly agree that many folks would start getting mad, cussing, and even 'abusing' equipment because of inadequate functioning. Just that alone would cause many to give up entirely. However, Andy has a patient, quiet quality that will help him find gold and be a success in any future mining!

    If you put an adaptor on the pump, you can charge the garden hose first. Put a sprayer on the discharge end and when you get no air through the line shut the sprayer off and turn the pump down, kink the inlet side, remove it, place in in the water source, and unkink it. Been there, done that, no more sucking on a hose.

    I have a really handy trick my dad taught me with grinders. Electric tape the tool to the end of the power cable where the plug is. This does 2 things. 1. Youll always have the tool on hand. 2. Youll always have to unplug the grinder before removing disks

    Have you ever considered a little cabin and a wood stove for storing and preheating the hoses and maybe the pumps?

  • @Greg-eq7pf
    @Greg-eq7pf ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Not sure if you do this but a fine mesh catcher of some sort to do tests at your outlet to the pond, pop it on the end periodically until its caught a good pans worth and pan it out to see if the sluice is letting any gold through and needs adjustments 🙂

  • @Leffe192
    @Leffe192 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Really nice work today Andy! I'll be watching out for a short panning-results video before the next episode. The hopper part seems a bit fast to eject the bigger rocks, without cleaning them. Maybe it could work a bit better if the slope was sligthly lower. I don't have the full picture, obviously, but the spring mid-frame at 26:01, if those could be adjusted, or on pads that could be elevated, maybe thats enough for being able to adjust slope? I'm just speculating to get viewer interaction in. From Sweden.

    Andy , G'day from Kalgoorlie WA down under . Thoroughly enjoyed watching your video , actually I watched it 3 times taking note of your set up with the sluice , trommel and grizzly bars above screens . Also your dedication and thoroughness of keep the hydrocarbons and fuels contained inside a portable bund container which I really was very pleased to see. The extra dedication you have is very inspiring and has given myself the missing link for a semi permanent setup like yours . Extra set up mate . Very impressive. Your sense of humour is like an outback Aussie , dry and straight to the point with humour which is awesome. Best wishes and regards plus continued success with your operation there. Cheers from Kalgoorlie Boulder western Australia. 👍👍👍.

    Nice one dude, such an amazing video as well. I love the fact that you don't just say "oh yeah I had this this and this problem and that you include all the work you put in solving them, honestly I love that kinda stuff, I want the full experience rather than those people who just wanna see the gold, I'd genuinely stand and watch you do this all day every day cause its fascinating as hell, the fact you've built that monster of a trommel (which is sexy as hell by the way) by yourself and it works the way it does is just incredible, I bet you're so proud! I most certainly am, you're a boss dude 🤘 can't wait for the next video, this is definitely the most interesting thing going on out of the many many many channels I'm subscribed to and I'm genuinely hooked. Oh man i know how it feels to do this and that and only fixing problems to start something - that can be frustrating. But once you have your equipment set up it’s going to work. When it is finally working and only minor problems and efficiency improvements have to be done - that is a great feeling then.
    Thank you so much for sharing you story with all of us. Keep on, I wish you find your treasure. :)

    Hey mate, with those hoses that are hard to straighten out try shoving one end over the exhaust of your truck for a min or 2. It'll soften the hose up, then you can straighten it up and it'll be easier to handle. That's also how we change the cam locks on them. Get them nice and soft and they slide right onto the cam lock

    Love your tenacity to knuckle down and problem solve, i know the ice is not making it any easier, so hats off to you mate for pushing through and finishing on a high note.

    Get one of those diesel torpedo heaters and make a little stockade for the end of your hose then just let it heater blow down then for a bit. after you're done putting the first one in, the second will be ready
    When you laid the hose in the running water, if you had a shutoff at the downstream end, you could just lift it up, have a primed hose, turn the valve off and walk over to the cistern 😉

    Why don't you make a metal frame for the trays you put the pumps in and use them as a sled/skid to move the pumps with? I have done that for over 15 years with an old pickup bed liner, sans the frame, found on the side of the road. I only suggest a frame because of the weight of the pumps. Works great on wet grass and mud too.

Pull the float bowl and take a standard screw driver and pull the jet out from the center of the round tube hanging down. there is another part behind the jet that has tiny holes in it clean them holes put it back together and fire it up. It should run fine after that. The float bowl is a 10mm.

    Love the content but I think you need to change the angle of the hopper! Those big rocks still have so much dirt on them. More water less step angle and longer area before droping into the trommel would clean them good. Would want to see you through away gold with all your hard work! Love from Nanaimo! And if you ever need help would love to come donate some of my time just to be able to see you succeed and be apart of your adventure! Gold mining is my absolute passion and just love being around it!

    Congratulations Andy at last you finally got down to some mining ⛏️ after all the suck and no luck on your first day because of pump issues and hopefully Pauly can pop in now and again to give you some morale support he’s a good guy but will probably snipe in your water holding pond 😂this journey is just beginning and will be epic wishing you good health and success from Glasgow Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ❤

    great show, sadly missed the live. some advice from a pump tech? camlocks do not perform well on suction. The problem is they just don't seal perfectly for suction and which is eaiser to suck..air or water? My advice would be to goto more of a solid connector like a hammer and wing union or another solid connector. The small pump seemed to be having bad/old fuel problems and then the carb gets gummed and they need a cleaning. but yeah! once the water goes the fun happens! Keep living the dream...were all rooting for you!

    You did not just bring us through all those videos leading up to finally being able to sluice... and then leave us in suspense for the cleanup.
    Way to keep the audience coming back for next episode.. lol

    Good stuff Andy! Great to see your progress. What have you noticed in terms of capture rates in your upper nugget trap versus the expanded over miner's moss?
