So after this, I talked to a mechanic, and they told me to hold off on service and wait for what’s called a “drive cycle” to pass. I drove about 30 miles over two days, and the light went out. Worked great!!!

What kind of bmw u got cause I have a bmw 328i coupe and my service engine light on now and I got a oil change and everything done to it but when I brought the car they said they didn’t know how to reset it or how to get the light off
I tried all these techniques but still my service engine soon light will not turn off in my 328i 2011 model😔 any suggestions? Please let me know - thanks
I have this, and I believe it to be a thermostat sensor for the coolant system or my thermostat stuck open. Il let you know how it goes when i try these in the next month.
Hi there, this light comes on for service of course, but also for other things, let us say, episodic weaknesses. personnaly, i have change my battery, and light go out after running 5 minutes. now i got abs ring to clean (traction, ABS, TPMS light on dash, and was come back before ), once this little things fixed, it go away. in other ways, you have a weakness somewhere, and the ECU ask to going to the shop, with the original computer and know how, they know the weakness from your car. i got it even for a long delay of no water in windows tank!
I can't seem to reset my oil service light despite following the reset procedure properly, I just tried again today at -100 miles so I've changed the oil and filter but trying to reset the oil service just takes the - 100 miles away and it goes to..0 miles and then starts going -1,2,3
Got cut off..so after reseting it goes to 0 miles but still red ..then -10 20 30 miles and so on..my oil level sensor is up the Creek and I have a new one, could anyone point me in the right direction on how to reset the oil service reminder...thanks Ian
Hi do it while tour waiting for the light or parked but put it as if your driving sovon the drive position and than scroll back and when you see it press it for a quick press and than itll ask if you want to reset and than you hold it to reset it happened to me too
Thanks, got it sorted, it was a faulty oil level sensor that was causing the problem, I changed it out for a new one and reset the oil service light 1st time...
this shit happen to me now l just do the reset and my oil change and the light still ON in my dash' l dont know if have to continue to drive the car for 30 minutes to see if the light is go away

I read on a forum if you disconnect the negative battery for 30 seconds then the positive one the light will turn off. Idk ima try it today

Check for oil leaks that'll set it off
