- Lazaro Montoto started Tropical Grille, along with his wife Shadid Montoto, in Greenville, South Carolina back in 2010. We recently sat down with him when he opened his 11th restaurant located in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
Find out about his first job at the Mutiny Hotel, how he got hired at Smith & Wollensky’s with absolutely no wine knowledge, and why the family moved to Greenville.
