- In this video we head to Carnaross Livestock Mart or Market to sell some sheep as pay day is long overdue!
In my system very little money comes in during the first half of the year so it's time to cash some sheep.

Thank you Iain. It's great to get that money for them, goes a long way to a replacement. Prices are good here. I think lambs are scarce with poor scanning and tough springtime.

Most local marts are on weekly. Some of them have cattle and sheep sales on at the same time in different rings. Glad you enjoyed video!

Selling cattle I always find it better not to be selling near the end of the sale and definitely not the last lots, you can be sure that plenty of sellers would have had lot numbers arranged before hand. Would your sheep have made more if sold earlier in the sale do you think?
I'd prefer to be selling in the middle of the sale but depends when you arrive with the sheep. You can book lot numbers in Carrigallen mart the other direction from me. I'd say the breeders could have made a little more bit left the mart fairly happy...👌

The bidding method in selling sheep is not permissible but Selling at the price per one kilogram is better.

Got it from TGM software in Northern Ireland. Off top of my head it was around €500 2 years ago. Good Tams 3 grants available now if you're in Ireland...

She had no lamb and was very fat so we didn't bother shearing her. Knew she would be going to the Abbitoir and not for breeding...
